To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Ernst Brockmann, a subject of the King of Prussia and Emperor of Germany, a resident of Ellrich, in the Prov5 incc of Saxony, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Show-Stands, of which the following is an exact description.

The object of my invention is to provide a io stand for exhibiting objects of sale in showwindows or shops, with an especial view to economy of space and facility in reaching the articles.

In order to make my invention more clear, 15 I refer to the accompanying drawings, in which similar letters denote similar parts throughout the several figures.

Figure 1 is an end elevation of the stand. Fig. 4 is a front elevation, partly in section, of 20 Fig. 1. Fig. 2 is a section through the top guide-rail, drawn to a larger scale. Fig. 3 is a joint at the end of top guide-rail. Fig. 5 is an end elevation of the stand, showing a modified form of the displaceable frame. Fig. 6 is a 25 front view of the same frame, the shelf of it being in vertical position. Fig. 7 is another front view of the same frame, the shelf being in horizontal position. Fig. 8 is a modification of the fastening device for the 30 shelf.

Any number of shelves F', Figs. 1 and 4, according to requirement, are secured by any means to a frame F, Figs. 1 and 4, the whole frame adapted to be drawn out. For this 35 purpose guide-rails e e are attached to the upper part of the frame A and project forward. These projecting rails are supported by a cross-piece A', which is stayed to the main frame A by a tie A³, hooking over a 40 beam on the said frame A and attached to the cross-bar A' by a bolt e³. The back ends of those rails are supported in a suspendinghook e⁶, suspended on the back cross-bar A²of the frame A.

The frames F F contain the guide-irons/' /', in which the rollers f f run on rails e e. In order that the frames may be guided perfectly securely on being drawn out, the angleirons e' e', running parallel to and lying over 50 the guide-rails e e, are attached at their front ends to the cross-bar A' and rail e by means of bolts e³ and irons e², Fig. 3, said iron e² having a projection through which bolt e³ passes, while the back ends of these angle-irons are attached to the guide-rails by straps e⁵. The 55 guide-irons/' of the frames F pass over this angle-iron e', thus insuring a safe guiding of the frames F. In order to relieve the top projecting guide-bar e of the weight of the whole frames, bottom or ground rails e^s are provided, 60 on which the frames run by means of rollers /² in straps/³. The shelves F' may be made vertically adjustable sidewise, the hooks e° being movable in their grooves e⁷at the back, while the front cross-beam A' is provided 65 with holes, Fig. 4, into which the bolts e³ may be placed. The ground-rails need only be shifted into the required position, and, if desirable, screwed onto the floor.

Instead of providing the frames with 70 shelves, they may be modified in such a manner that they contain one large shelf or frame, which may be made to rotate round a horizontal axle, Figs. 5 to 8, such as frame G, Fig. 5, which may stand on end in the main frame, 75 and on the articles being inspected the frame F will be run or drawn out and the shelf or frame G turned into a horizontal position by means of the cogged segment^ and pinion^', turned by handle P. The frame Gwill have 80 a counterbalance-w’eight q on its lower end to hold it in its vertical position. Instead of a cogged segment, a segment/², provided with a slit, may be substituted and the frame fixed in the same by means of a set-screw p³. 85
