To all whom it may concern :

Be it known that we, Nathan Roggen and Toba Eisenstein, both of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new 5 and Improved Shirt, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corio responding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a front elevation of a shirt made in accordance with our invention. Fig. 2 shows a part of the back of the shirt, and Fig. 3 shows the shape of one of the yoke-pieces.

The invention will first be described iu connection with the drawings, and then pointed out in the claim.

The body A, sleeves B B, bosom 0, and neckband D of the shirt may be of the usual or 20 of any approved form, except that the placketpieces b of the sleeves B are extended to form the button-pieces or tabs b', which are adapted to be secured to the buttons a, for holding the wrist-piece of the shirt-sleeves above the wrists 25 of the wearer.

E E represent the yokes of the' shirt. These are each cut in the form shown in Fig. 3, with an extension, d, to extend over the shoulderseam down onto the sleeve B to re-enforce the shoulder and upper part of the sleeves of the shirt. The yokes extend from the back placketF, of the shirt along the neck-piece D, thence directly over the shoulder-seams, and they are each formed with side points,//, which follow down the shoulder-seams g g, front and back, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, to strengthen and re-enforce the shirt at the shoulder and prevent the seams g from giving away from wear of the coat, vest, and suspenders. The buttons a are attached to the lower ends of the points d of the yokes, so that they will stand the strain when the tabs b' are buttoned upon them without tearing the shirt-sleeve.
