In the ventilating field there is often a need for a possibility to vary the direction of the air to be supplied into an area to suit the location of the air supply opening and the kind and form of said area. This problem has hitherto been solved by using different grilles or grilles having adjustable bars. It is prior known to use grilles which can be set in their fastening frames in a limited number of predetermined positions. However, it has often proved necessary to change the direction of the air to be supplied either for making the first adjustment of the ventilating plant or for a later adjustment due to changed operating conditions.

The invention, the object of which is to eliminate hitherto prevailing drawbacks in connection with timewasting changes being necessary for such adjustments is characterized by an endless groove in the circular boundary surface and a similar secondary groove in the outer surface of the grille body and further by a fastening means disposed in said secondary groove and consisting of a ring of plastic rubber or similar elastic material preferably having a circular cross-section, which ring after the grille body has been pressed into said opening functions as tightening means as well as guiding means, whereby a passing air stream merely by turning said grille body can be directed to any point in the area to be ventilated. In accordance with a suitable embodiment of the invention the grille body is provided with an outer guiding flange engaging a circular recess disposed in said front plate and encircling said opening.

The invention will now be described more in detail with reference to the accompanying drawing showing an exemplifying embodiment of the ventilating grille according to the invention and wherein:

In the drawing 1 designates a preferably square front plate. The dimensions of said plate are suitably chosen to correspond with the modulus being used for wall plates of Dutch tile or similar materials. 3 designates a grille body revolvably arranged in an opening 2 in said front plate, which body consists of a number of angled parallel bars 4 fixed to a circular frame 5. The outer diameter of said frame is somewhat smaller than that of said opening 2. 6a designates an endless groove in the circular boundary surface 6 of said opening. The frame 5 of the grille body is on its outer side 7 provided with a similar groove 7α. 8 designates a fastening means disposed in said last mentioned groove 7α and consisting of a ring of plastic, rubber or similar elastic material, which ring after the grille body has been pressed into said opening functions as tightening means as well as guiding means. In the case shown the frame 5 of the grille body is provided with an outer guiding flange 9 engaging a circular recess 10 disposed in said front plate and encircling said opening 2.

In the cases of air supply, when air currents of a greater reach are desired the above mentioned front plate 1 may be used for the application of a duct of some length, said duct being provided with fastening means in accordance with the invention. In order to make it possible to shut off the outlet opening the grille body or said duct may be provided with a number of holes 11 on their rear side for the application of a covering plate 12 provided with corresponding studs 11α.
