This invention relates to curtain brackets and has for its general object to provide a construction which will allow curtains to enclose a Venetian blind.

Another object of the invention is to provide, a construction which will prevent the need of hammering nails into walls in order to provide tie-backs for a curtain.

Another object is to provide a curtain bracket which is simple in design and easy to manufacture.

These and other objects may be readily discovered upon reading the following specification, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of a window shown incorporating the invention.

Figure 2 is a perspective view of the invention

Figure 3 is a view of the blank from which the curtain bracket is formed.

Figure 4 is a fragmentary perspective view of the lower end of the curtain bracket.

Figure 5 is a perspective view of a door shown incorporating a modified form of the invention.

Figure 6 is a perspective view of the curtain bracket shown in Figure 5.

Figure 7 is a cross-sectional view through 7—7 of Figure 6.

Figure 8 is a fragmentary perspective view showing a curtain being admitted upon the bracket.

Figure 9 is a perspective view showing a still further modified form of the invention.

Referring to the drawings in detail, and particularly to Figure 2, the bracket 10 is formed having a horizontal extension 11 and a vertical extension i2. The horizontal extension is provided with holes 13, so that the bracket may be mounted by screws to the front part of a Venetian blind box 14. The vertical extension has cut-out members 15, which when bent outwardly as shown in Figure 2, serve as hooks, whereupon tie-backs may be hung. This bracket while shown in the drawings as made in one piece and bent at 16 so that the vertical extension is offset in relation to the horizontal extension, may however be made of two separate straight bars and spot-welded together to form the design shown. The bracket preferably should be made of metal. It will be noted that a right hand and left hand bracket will be required for each window.

In Figure 6 the modified type of bracket is made of two U-shaped members 17 and 18 and δ a connecting member 19 therebetween. Members 17 and 18 are provided with holes 20 whereby to be mounted by screws to a door, as shown in Figure 5. This bracket when assembled creates space 21 within which a Venetian blind box ¹⁰ is mounted, and a curtain hanging from said bracket will completely hide the Venetian blind.

The modified form of the invention shown in Figure 9 is made up of brackets as shown in Figure 2 and a variation of the bracket shown ¹³ in Figure 6 in combination. The brackets 10 are provided with holes 21 at their upper end through which screws 22 may be passed into brackets 23 and 24 making the whole a solid structure. Sliding member 25 is provided to engage the two ends ²⁰ of the brackets 23 and 24 and may be operated as shown also in Figure 8.
