I claim:1. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, substantially semi-circular trunnions carried 65 by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the support, said trunnions presenting beveled surfaces on their sides, stationary means on the support engageable with the beveled surface on one trunnion, and movable means engageable 70 with the beveled surface on the other trunnion for tightening the table top and trunnions toward the stationary means and thus causing the trunnions to be tightened against their bearings to hold the table top in adjusted position. 75 2. A tilting table top construction comprising, a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, substantially semi-circular trunnions carried by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the support, said trunnions presenting beveled surfaces on their outer sides, a station- 6 ary lug on the support engageable with the beveled surface on one trunnion, and a movable lug on the support engageable with the beveled surface on the other trunnion, and means for tightening the movable lug toward its trunnion and 10 the stationary lug so as to tighten the trunnions against their bearings. 3. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly carried by the 15 table top, bearings for the trunnions on the support, stationary means adjacent one bearing engageable by the Side of its trunnion, and movable means adjacent the other bearing engageable with the side of its trunnion to bodily shift 20 the table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table top to be held in adjusted position. 4. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination 23 thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly carried by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the support, stationary means adjacent one bearing engageable by the side of its trunnion, and movable means adjacent the other bearing engageable 38 with the opposite side of its trunnion to bodily shift the table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table top to be held in adjusted position. 5. A tilting table top construction comprising 35 a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly carried by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the support, there being a beveled surface on the side of at least one trunnion, stationary means adja- 40 cent one bearing engageable by the beveled surface, movable means adjacent the other bearing engageable with its trunnion to bodily shin table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table top to be held 45 m adjusted position. 6. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly carried by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the sup- 60 port, there being a beveled surface on the side of at least one trunnion, stationary means adjacent one bearing engageable by the beveled surface, movable means adjacent the other bearing engageable with the opposite side of its trnnntnn 55 to bodily shift the table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table top to be held in adjusted position. 7. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination 80 thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly carried by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the support, there being a beveled surface on the side of at least one trunnion, stationary means adjacent one bearing engageable by the side of its 65 trunnion, movable means adjacent the other bearing engageable with the beveled surface, and means for tightening the movable means to bodily shift the table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table 70 top to be held in adjusted position. 8. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly Carried by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the sup- 78

2,005,100 port, there being a beveled surface on the side of at least one trunnion, stationary means adjacent one bearing engageable by the side of its trunnion, movable means adjacent the other 5 bearing engageable with the beveled surface on the opposite side of the trunnion, and means for tightening the movable means to bodily shift the table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table top to be held 10 in adjusted position. 9. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly carried by the table top, bearings for the trunnions on the sup15 port, there being a beveled surface on the sides of the trunnions, stationary means adjacent one bearing engageable with the beveled surface of its trunnion, movable means adjacent the other bearing engageable with the beveled surface on 20 the opposite side of its trunnion, said movable means being operable to bodily shift the table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table top to be held in adjusted position. 10. A tilting table top construction comprising a support, a table top movable for inclination thereon, arcuate trunnions rigidly carried by the 5 table top, bearings for the trunnions on the support, there being a beveled surface on the sides of the trunnions, stationary means adjacent one bearing engageable with the beveled surface of its trunnion, movable means adjacent the other 10 bearing engageable with the beveled surface on the opposite side of its trunnion, said movable means being operable to bodily shift the table top and trunnions to cause the stationary means to be engaged and the table top to be held in adjust- 15 ed position, the beveled surface being so arranged that when the stationary means is engaged and the movable means is caused to engage its beveled surface the trunnions will be tightened thereby against their respective bearings. 20 WILLIAM J.
