    What is claimed is:1. The combination with a garment to be worn over the body, of trousers suspenders consisting of shoulder straps and button tabs on the ends of the straps;and strips of fabric paralleling the 40 strap and secured to the garment on the inside thereof, and extending from a point at the middle of the back of the garment, under the shoulder portions of the garment, to points at the sides of the front of the garment, to define open-ended 45 tunnels, said straps extending losely through said tunnels respectively, and said button tabs extending to the outside of the garment through openings therein.

HARRY DAVITT. Application August 4, 2 Claims. This invention relates to a garment in the form of a shirt and trousers-suspenders combination. One of the objects of the invention is the provision of a combination of the indicated char5 acter, by virtue of which the suspenders will be substantially concealed to thereby give a neat appearance while sustaining the trousers of the wearer and, at the same time, serving to keep the shirt from creeping up by reason of the bending 10 movements of the wearer. Another object of the invention is the provision of a combination of the indicated character in which the suspenders will be retained in comfortable position at all times and yet compensate for 15 various movements of the body of the wearer. A further object of the invention is the provision of a combination of the indicated character in which the suspenders will be so applied to the shirtand in which thesuspenders willbe made 20 of such materials, that the shirt may be washed and laundered in the usual manner without the necessity of removing the suspenders, but enabling the removal or separation thereof from the shirt if desired. 25 In the drawing to which reference is had in the following specification— Figure 1 is a view illustrating a combination of the present invention in use;Fig. 2 is a view looking at the inside of the shirt 30 and illustrating how the suspenders are applied thereto;Fig. 3 is a detail section taken on the line 3—3 of Fig. 1, and shown on a somewhat enlarged scale. 35 Referring now more particularly to the drawing, it will be apparent that there has been shown a garment 10 in the form of a top or dress shirt of conventional construction, such as is worn by men and boys. The shirt 10, however, is modified 40 in certain respects for the purpose of associating trousers-suspenders 11 therewith, by means and a manner to be described hereinafter. The suspenders 11 consist of shoulder straps 12, the rear ends of which are joined by a brace 13, 45 button tabs 14 secured to each of the front ends of the straps 12, and an elastic adjustable connection 15 secured to the brace 13 and having connected therewith button tabs 16. The button tabs 14 and 16 may be made of cord, braid, or cloth 50 of the same material as the shirt. The shoulder straps 12 may be made of links of woven material or ribbon and, if desired, these straps may be elastic. In accordance with the invention, strips 17 of fabric, similar to the fabric of the shirt, are 55 secured to the shirt on the inside thereof, by lines of stitching and extend from a point at the middle of the back of the shirt, under the shoulder portions of the shirt, to points at the sides of the front of the shirt, to define open-ended tunnels.
