Article holder

Application filed December 6, 1830.

This invention relates to an improvement in article-holders, the object being to provide a holder adapted to be applied to the edge of a table for the reception of gloves, bags, or j other articles of ladies’ use, and the invention consists in the construction as hereinafter described and particularly recited in the claims.

The holder is formed from two strips of sheet metal, one strip forming a table-plate 20 10 with a slightly upwardly-curved lip 11.

The strip is bent at right angles to form a. supporting-arm 12, the lower end 13 of the plate being bent upward into U-shape to form an open pocket.

Secured to the rear face of the arm 12 is a spring clamping-member 14 preferably provided at its inner end with a cushion-pad 15. This clamping-member may be secured to the arm 12 by electric welding or otherwise.

This device is adapted to be secured to the edge of a table 16, the plate resting upon the top and the clamping-member extending beneath the table so as to hold the device in position.

A bag may be suspended in the pocket and the pocket provides space for gloves, handkerchief and other articles.

The table-plate may bear the monogram of the owner, name of the hotel or restaurant, 40 or be ornamental as desired, and the device may be finished in any desired manner, such as plating, enameling or otherwise.

This device may be readily applied or removed from a table and provides for the sup43 port of articles in a convenient position for

the owner so as to avoid the necessity of placing such articles on the table or attempting to hold them.
