Golf-pad.

Be it known that I, Roy G. Brenner, a citizen of the United States, residing in Des Moines, county of Polk, and State of Iowa, 5 have invented a new and useful Improvement in Golf-Pads, of which the following is a specification.

The object of my invention is to provide a hand pad for golf players which will be 10 of simple and durable construction, and while protecting the palm of the hand from blisters and callouses, will in no manner interfere with the firmness of the grip on the club handle.

My invention consists of certain details of construction hereinafter set forth, pointed out in my claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which—

Figure I shows a hand on which is secured ²⁰ my improved pad; and Fig. II shows a view of the pad removed from the hand.

Referring to the accompanying drawings the reference numeral 10 indicates the body of the pad and the numerals 11, 12, 13 and ²⁵ 14, indicate orifices cut therein and designed to receive the fingers of the hand. An elliptical orifice, properly placed, as shown at 15, is designed to receive the thumb of ' the hand. A strap 16, provided with a buckle 17, is secured to the upper part of the pad and is designed to encircle the wrist of the hand.

The numeral 18 indicates a rectangular _S5 strap of leather, or the like, secured to the pad in the manner shown, and designed to engage, lengthwise, the handle of the club when the hand grips the same.

The manner of placing the pad on the hand and securing it by the strap 16 is obvious, as is also the manner of gripping the 40 club handle when the pad is properly secured. ,

I wish to call particular attention to the strap 18 for by making the pad thicker at this particular place it assists the player in 45 securing a firmer grip of the club.

It should also be noted that my pad is in no sense a glove and therefore does not interfere with the free movement and set of the joints of the fingers and thumb and conse- 50 quently, the firmness of the grip is not impaired.
