IMPROVEMENT IN CHILDREN’S BIBS.

To all whom it may concern :

Be it known that I, Adaline L. Thomson, of Hudson City, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful improvement in Children’s Bibs; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this speciticaMy invention consists in an improved bib for children, which will be first described, and the peculiar features thereof subsequently pointed out in the claim.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding ^PilA is the bib, which is made of any water-proof or suitable material, to cover- the front portion or stomach of the child so as to protect the dress.

B is a pocket or trough at. the bottom ot the bib, and is designed to catch and hold any liquid which may be spilt upon the bib, thus preventing such liquid from running onto and soiling the child’s dress.

This pocket is formed either by turning up the bottom of the bib and sewing it up at the sides ot the child or ends of the pocket, or by attaching a separate piece for the front of the pocket.

C 0 represent the sleeves of the bib. „

These sleeves are attached to the arm-holes ot the bib by elastic strings, tapes, or cords D D. These elastic connections allow the sleeves to be drawn onto the arms, over the sleeves of the dress, without difficulty. '

Β E are the arm-holes through the bib.

The elastic strings D D are attached to the upper portions of these holes, so that the sleeves will be held up by the elasticity of the strings or straps.

The lower portions of the sleeves are provided with elastic bands for confining the sleeves around the wrists, as seen in the drawing.

The advantages of this improvement will be readily appreciated by mothers and nurses, and must be obvious to all.
