Apparatus for sensing environmental pH changes

Summary by NHIP

Three-State pH Sensor

The sensor system detects environmental pH changes by switching between three electrical states via volumetric expansion and contraction of a polymer matrix. This matrix contains conductive graphitized carbon particles and features distinct swelling behaviors that reduce conductivity during the first state transition while altering conductivity differently in the second transition.
