The present invention relates to a tray device, and more particularly to a tray device that can carry a hot-plug hard disk.
In general, server hot-swap devices usually include hot-swappable power supplies, hot-swappable hard drives, hot-swappable batteries, and hot-swappable fans. These hot-swappable devices are usually located on the server's panel and/or The back panel allows easy replacement from the panel and/or back panel. The hot-swap device is typically provided with a handle for gripping and latching for mounting the rear latch lock position. The so-called hot swap (hot swap) refers to the physical connection or physical removal of the peripheral device directly when the computer system does not turn off the power. The ability to hot plug is especially important on server-class systems, allowing the computer to expand the system's capabilities without disrupting service.
At present, the conventional hot-swappable hard disk tray usually locks the hard disk drive to the hard disk tray, and then slides the hard disk tray into the sliding rail of the main body to fix it. Currently, there are many ways to fix hard drives in the computer industry. One of the most widely used methods is to use a screw to secure the hard disk to the hard disk tray.
However, such a conventional hard disk tray can usually only be loaded with one hard disk. Therefore, when the user pulls out the hard disk tray, all the hard disks on the hard disk tray will interrupt the signal and power, causing the system to be interrupted for a long time. Subsequently, it takes a short time to recover the key of the data. In addition, the servers that generally support hot-swappable hard disk trays are usually of standard size, so in the application environment where a large number of hard disks are required, the conventional hot plug is used. The rack of the hard drive tray will only hold a small number of hard drives. Or, if you want to increase the number of hard disks, you must increase the number of servers. In addition to increasing costs, it will also make the size of the computer mainframe system even larger, which is a drawback.
In order to solve the problems of the prior art, one of the technical aspects of the present invention is a tray device, which mainly provides at least two carrying portions on the bottom plate of the tray, and each carrying portion can respectively carry a storage device, so that the single servo can be used. Increase the number of storage devices in the device. The present invention also has a slide rail mechanism between the tray and the inner wall of the server housing. Therefore, when the rear storage device (that is, the storage device deeper inside the housing) needs to be repaired, the user only needs to put the tray The rear of the server is removed, and the rear storage device can be disassembled in the same manner as the front storage device (i.e., the storage device closer to the edge of the housing). The creation also forms a hollow portion on the bottom plate between the two load-bearing portions. Therefore, in the case where the server is disposed at a higher place, the user can easily disassemble the rear storage device by pulling the tray from the lower portion of the tray through the hollow portion between the two carrying portions. The present invention also designs a wired bracket between the tray and the inner wall of the server casing, which can be folded as the tray slides relative to the housing, and can be attached by a transmission line for connecting the storage device to the server. Thereby, when the user pulls out the tray device, since the transmission line is pulled along the wire holder, the operation of the tray device is not affected. Moreover, during the operation of the tray device, since the transmission line is still connected between the storage device and the server, the power and signals supplied to the storage device are not interrupted.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, a tray device is applied to a server in. The server contains a housing. The tray device includes a rail member and a tray. The rail member is disposed on an inner wall of the housing. The tray slidably engages the rail member and is slidable relative to the housing between the deployed position and the retracted position. The tray includes a bottom plate for carrying two storage devices. The bottom plate has a hollow portion. The storage device is separated on both sides of the hollow portion. When the tray is slid to the deployed position, one of the storage devices is partially outside the housing with a portion of the hollow.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the bottom plate includes a first carrier portion and a second carrier portion. The first carrying portion and the second carrying portion are separated from both sides of the hollow portion and are respectively used to carry one of the storage devices. The first carrier portion and the second carrier portion are located in the housing when the tray is slid to the retracted position. When the tray is slid to the deployed position, the first carrier is located outside of the housing and the second carrier is located in the housing.
In one embodiment of the present invention, when the tray is slid to the deployed position, the hollow portion is completely outside the housing, and the second carrier portion is aligned with the edge of the housing.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the hollow portion has a width between the first carrying portion and the second carrying portion, and the width is greater than the length of any hard disk.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the tray device described above further includes two extraction frames. The two extraction frames are respectively disposed on the first bearing portion and the second bearing portion. Each storage device can be taken in a corresponding extraction rack.
In one embodiment of the present invention, each of the storage devices is parallel to the extraction direction of the corresponding extraction frame and the sliding direction of the tray relative to the housing.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the above tray device is further packaged With handles. The handlebar is connected to the first carrier.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the storage device is electrically connected to the server by two transmission lines. The tray device further includes a wire holder. The wire bracket is operatively connected between the inner wall of the casing and the bottom plate, and can be unfolded or folded with the tray sliding relative to the casing for attaching the transmission line.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the wire holder includes a first bracket portion and a second bracket portion. One end of the first bracket portion is pivotally connected to an inner wall of the housing. Two ends of the second bracket portion are respectively pivotally connected to the bottom plate and the other end of the first bracket portion.

For the sake of clarity, a number of practical details will be described in the following description. However, it should be understood that these practical details are not applied to limit the creation. That is to say, in the implementation part of this creation, these practical details are not necessary. In addition, some of the conventional structures and elements are shown in the drawings in a simplified schematic manner in order to simplify the drawings.
One of the technical aspects of this creation is a tray device. More specifically, it is mainly provided with at least two carrying portions on the bottom plate of the tray, and each carrying portion can respectively carry a storage device. The present invention also has a slide rail mechanism between the tray and the inner wall of the server casing, so that the user only needs to pull the tray out of the server casing, and the front and rear storage device can be disassembled (ie, Disassembling the rear storage device in the same manner as the storage device near the edge of the housing (ie, a storage device deeper into the interior of the housing). The creation also forms a hollow portion between the two bottom plates, so that the user can remove the hand from the bottom of the tray through the hollow portion between the two carrying portions to perform the disassembly and assembly operation of the rear storage device. The present invention also designs a wired bracket between the tray and the inner wall of the server casing, which can be folded as the tray slides relative to the housing, and can be attached by a transmission line for connecting the storage device to the server.
The tray device of the present invention can be used to carry a storage device (for example, a floppy disk drive, a hard disk drive, a CD player, etc.) which is generally disposed inside the server, but is not limited thereto. In particular, the tray device of the present invention can be used to carry a storage device in a hot-swappable form, as long as it is still required to continuously supply the power and signal of the storage device when the tray device is pulled out. The concept of this creation was achieved.

Both ends of the second bracket portion 262 of the wire bracket 26 are pivotally connected to the bottom plate 220 of the tray 22 and the other end of the first bracket portion 260, respectively. The wire holder 26 of the tray device 1 is used to attach the transmission line 12a. Thereby, while the tray 22 of the tray device 1 is slid relative to the housing 10 of the server 1 between the deployed position and the contracted position, the wire holder 26 of the tray device 1 can be unfolded or folded as the tray 22 slides. . In other words, when the user pulls out the tray 22 of the tray device 1 with respect to the housing 10 of the server 1, since the transmission line 12a is pulled along the wire holder 26, the operation of the tray device 1 is not affected. Moreover, during the operation of the tray 22 of the tray device 1 relative to the housing 10 of the server 1, since the transmission line 12a is still connected between the storage device 12 and the server 1, the power and signals supplied to the storage device 12 are not interrupted. .
Further, the tray device 1 further includes a handlebar 28. The handlebar 28 of the tray device 1 is coupled to the first carrier portion 220a of the bottom plate 220, thereby acting as a means for the user to draw or push the tray 22 relative to the housing 10 of the server 1.
From the above detailed description of the specific embodiments of the present invention, it can be clearly seen that the tray device of the present invention mainly provides at least two carrying portions on the bottom plate of the tray, and each of the carrying portions can respectively carry the storage device, thereby Increase the number of storage devices in a single server. The present invention also has a slide rail mechanism between the tray and the inner wall of the server housing. Therefore, when the rear storage device (that is, the storage device deeper inside the housing) needs to be repaired, the user only needs to put the tray Extracted from the housing of the server, it can be used before disassembly The rear storage device is disassembled in the same manner as the storage device.
