The present invention relates to an electrical connector, and more particularly to an electrical connector having an improved screening device.
In the electronics industry, usually the electrical connector is mounted on a circuit board, and other electronic devices are connected to the electrical connector through the insertion and removal of the contact portion. A related art can be referred to the U.S. Patent No. 5,899,776, which is incorporated herein by reference. The insulating body is provided with a base portion and a contact portion assembled at a front portion of the base portion. The contact portion is provided with a terminal receiving groove, and the terminal is received in the terminal receiving groove. The metal housing includes a mating frame surrounding the contact portion and an ear portion extending toward the both sides of the docking frame. The ear portion and the two ends of the base portion are respectively provided with through holes, and the metal shell is tightly coupled to the insulating body by the cooperation of the square head rivets and the through holes, and is abutted on the grabbing plate member by the square head rivet, thereby The metal housing is grounded.
The electrical connector as described above, although the combination of the metal casing and the insulating body is relatively stable, however, since the metal casing is coupled to the insulating body by the riveting method, the structure is relatively complicated, the cost is relatively high, and the riveting is adopted. The combination method requires opening holes on both sides of the metal casing and both sides of the insulating body, which inevitably increases the size of the electrical connector and does not conform to the development trend of miniaturization of the electrical connector.
Therefore, it is indeed necessary to provide an electrical connector that overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks.
The technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an electrical connector which is simple in structure and small in configuration.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention adopts the following technical solution: an electrical connector includes: an insulative housing, a terminal, a metal housing, and a holding member; the insulative housing includes a base and an abutting portion extending forward from the base, The end of the base portion is provided with a through hole extending from the top to the bottom and an arm hole communicating with the insertion hole is provided from the front to the rear at a position adjacent to the insertion hole; the terminal is fixed on the insulative body, and the extension portion is extended on the butt portion And a connecting portion electrically connected to the circuit board; the metal housing is provided with an extending arm extending rearwardly received in the arm hole, the extending arm is provided with a holding portion held on the holding member, and the The metal housing is assembled to the insulative housing from the front to the rear; the holding member is retained in the insertion hole of the base, and includes a body portion for receiving the dry socket and a holding leg extending downward from the body portion.
Compared with the prior art, the present electrical connector has the following effects: the metal housing of the present electrical connector is held by the extending arm extending rearwardly and the holding member held on the insulating body, thereby stabilizing the metal housing in the insulation On the body, it is not easy to fall off.
Referring to the first to fourth figures, the present electrical connector includes an insulative housing 1, a metal housing 2, a positioning plate 3, a holding member 4, and a plurality of terminals 5.
