Technical area
The present invention relates to a method and system for integrity positioning of a mobile station in a communication network for mobile stations and to a positioning service provider.
The prior art
A few systems for positioning are in operation today and are used and used by telecom operators to offer services to their customers. A customer of the operator is demanding a function based on the positioning of individual or multiple telephones in the operator's network.
A telephone with a subscription is directly linked to a subscriber and positioning of a telephone is thereby a positioning of a natural person. The right to access this position information is critical because the integrity of subscribers is directly linked to the ability to control who can or will see his or her position.
Today, telecom operators cannot produce positioning information as part of external service providers' positioning solutions and at the same time guarantee the integrity of the subscriber, without the subscriber himself requesting the positioning from his telephone. Such solutions entail extra steps in performing a positioning service.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention is intended to solve problems associated with mobile positioning in terms of the personal integrity of a user of a mobile station connected to a communication network for the same.
In order to achieve said integrity, a method for integrity positioning of a mobile station in a communication network for mobile stations and against a positioning service provider is specified. The process comprises the following steps:
a subscriber in the communication network joins a website of a positioning service provider in an open computer network, which offers a positioning service;
the subscriber enters the subscriber number of his mobile station on the website to obtain the positioning service, whereby a message is sent to the mobile station regarding the positioning service, which is acknowledged by the subscriber via the mobile station;
the receipt is sent via the mobile station network to an alias server, which creates and stores an alias for positioning the mobile station, which consists of the mobile station's subscriber number and the positioning service's identity and a subscriber's communication network operator identity; and \\ FSERVER \ USERS \ UDO \ DOK \ word-doc \ PI10040600SE.doc
516 341 wherein the subscriber's mobile station is positioned through a positioning system held by the operator, via stored alias.
An embodiment of the invention states that a service provider can only identify the offered positioning service from aliases and that the operator can only identify operator identity and subscriber numbers from aliases.
Alias is created in one embodiment of the present invention digitally encoded. In this embodiment, the operator has in one embodiment a code key that can only read the operator and subscriber number in the alias when positioning.
In yet another embodiment, the provider has a code key that can only read the position ring service in the alias.
Furthermore, the present invention provides a system for integrity positioning of a mobile station in a communication network for mobile stations and vis-à-vis a positioning service provider. The system hereby comprises:
a subscriber in the communication network who connects to a website of a positioning service provider in an open computer network, which offers a positioning service;
a website where the subscriber enters the subscriber number of his mobile station to receive the positioning service, whereby a message is sent to the mobile station regarding the positioning service, which is acknowledged by the subscriber via an interface of the mobile station for communication over the network, whereby a receipt is sent via the network for mobile stations to an alias server;
the alias server creates and stores an alias for positioning the mobile station, which consists of the subscriber number of the mobile station and the positioning service's identity and an identity of the subscriber's communication network operator; and wherein the subscriber's mobile station is positioned through a positioning system held by the operator, via stored alias.
An embodiment of the present invention comprises that the service provider can only identify the offered positioning service from aliases and that the operator can only identify operator identity and subscriber numbers from aliases.
In yet another embodiment of the invention, alias is digitally encoded by coding means.
A further embodiment of the invention allows the operator to have code key means, which can only read the operator and subscriber number in the alias at positioning.

Furthermore, one embodiment states that the supplier has code key means, which can only read the position ring service in the alias.
Brief description of the drawing
Continued reference is made continuously in the description text to the appended drawing figure for a better understanding of the present invention and its embodiments or exemplifications, wherein;
The figure schematically illustrates a system according to the present invention.
Detailed description of preferred embodiments
By introducing the alias for the identity of a subscription to a mobile station, responsibility for the integrity of service providers and operators is lifted to the individual subscriber. By mobile station is meant a device comprising mobile telephony equipment, GSM telephones and the like and other handheld devices with built-in wireless telephony.
The figure illustrates a system 10 for positioning integrity of mobile stations
12.
Centrally, 16 information is stored about which operator 14 and which alias to which a user of a service is associated. An alias is a unique key that defines a combination of the service and a subscriber or telephone number. For a coded key, technology known to one of ordinary skill in the art is used.
Operator 14 has access to a positioning service 26 with connected database including subscriber numbers connected to such service, here via the Internet and its IP protocol.
Since a service provider 18, with connected database 22 for registering customers via their alias, requests the positioning of a person 12 (subscriber, user or mobile station), the question is put to a central function called Alias Server 16 with connected database 20 for storing registered aliases. This 18 sends a message to the current subscriber 12 through its operator 14, and asks if it is "ok" that the service is positioned according to specified way and according to specified conditions.
If the answer is positive, an alias is placed in the database 20, which describes how the service 26 can position the subscriber 12.
From the point of view of the subscriber 12, the services 18 which he considers should be able to position the current subscription are simply selected. To the extent that the subscriber wants to spread his alias in order to allow others to position, it is up to the subscriber.

The service provider 18 does not know which subscription is positioned. The vendor uses the alias routines on an Alias Server 16.
A user 12 of the site www.yachtDosition.com has a subscription with Telia®, which is operator 14. The telecom operator has positioning system.
User 12 wants to obtain automatic search function for weather reports etc. and therefore requests via the site 18 for position-based service that own subscription of the operator 14 be used for positioning. User 12 enters his mobile number and a message goes to the phone with information that the service www.yachtDosition.com has requested positioning and the purpose of this. Here, authorization for the performance of the podcasting service can relate to location-based weather, maritime search functions and the possibility for others within a specific group of the yacht position service to position the current user.
When the user 12 has responded positively by replying / sending a message from the telephone 12 back to the alias server 20, an alias is established which consists of the service's identity, the subscriber's number and the operator's identity.
The system 10 for integrity positioning of a mobile station in a communication network for mobile stations and vis-à-vis a positioning service provider can be summarized as below. The symmet hereby includes:
a subscriber 12 in the communication network connecting to a website, portal etc. of a positioning service provider 18 in an open computer network such as the Internet, which provides a positioning service;
a website or portal where the subscriber enters the subscriber number of his mobile station 24 to receive the positioning service 18, a message being sent to the mobile station 12 regarding the positioning service, which is acknowledged by the subscriber 12 via an interface of the mobile station 12 for communication over the network, whereby a receipt is sent over the network for mobile stations 14 to an alias server 20;
the alias server 16 creates and stores an alias for positioning the mobile station 12, which consists of the subscriber number 24 of the mobile station and the identity of the positioning service and an identity of the subscriber's communication network operator; and wherein the subscriber's mobile station 12 is positioned through a positioning system held by the operator 24 and to which the subscriber is registered against in the database 24, via stored alias, for acknowledged positioning service. The service provider 18 initiates positioning against the positioning service 26 according to the alias. Operator 14 identifies the subscriber number and its operator identity in alias. Thereafter, the operator 14 checks that the subscriber is registered for positioning in the database 24 and performs the same if so.

In particular, it is provided here that a positioning service is hidden from operator 14 and subscriber 12 is also hidden from service provider 18 via an alias stored in an alias server 16.
The present invention has been described herein by way of examples and embodiments, but there are appended claims defining further embodiments of one of ordinary skill in the art.
