- 1Fig. 4 shows a support device for the rope located on the side of the handle 22 immediately in front of the front thumb rest 46. This support device comprises a first projection 94 and a second projection 96, located in front of each other along the side of the handle 22, and an elastic plate 98, which is clamped at one end to the handle, just behind the projections, the plate pressing against the projections. When the bait has completely run. a small extra length of the line is pulled out of the roll and placed in a loop over the first projection and below the second projection. It has been shown that the fish often nibbles on the bait and gives a light jerk to the bait before it finally takes the hook. Should the bait be subjected to an elastic bend, the rod can, as in normal cases, the bait spring back in response to the fish's first jerk. Such a reaction would scare a more timid fish. The described device avoids this situation, because when the first jerk is felt in the line, the line is pulled loose from the support device by sliding off. the projections and out between them and the elastic plate-. This results in the bait appearing more natural than with the above-mentioned resilience, and this effect has been found to be very effective in obtaining a completely safe pacifier of shy fish. I fig. The invention relates to a handle for spinning rods, which handle consists of two substantially perpendicularly - arranged handle parts arranged opposite each other, namely an elongate forwardly directed handle part, which is arranged to support - a rod projecting therefrom and an elongate rear vertically downwardly facing handle part, the forwardly facing handle part being provided with a bracket for the foot on a rope roll. Flap reel refers to both spinning reels and reel reels.
When fishing with a rod, it has become known that the probability of getting a pacifier depends to a large extent on the distance and the precision with which the bait and hook are thrown. However, it has not always been realized how much the distance and precision depend on the balance of the rod - with the handle - and that - way - which you can handle the rod with the handle and the roller at the throw. Nor has it been realized that these circumstances have a very large influence- both on the ability to pull in a fish caught on the hook ooh on the degree of fatigue and- the consequent decline in the skill of the caster in performing the cast and catching the fish. -,
According to the invention, an improved handle is provided, which gives greater accuracy and longer distance at the throw, than what has hitherto been Dupl.kl. 45hrs: 87/06

The spinning rod according to Fig. 1 consists of the actual rod 20, which is flexible and tapered, and the molded handle 22, in which the rod is attached. The handle carries a - spinning reel · (reel) 24.
The rod 20 is as usual made of an elastically flexible material, -e.g. Fiberglass. The fishing line 26 extends from the reel 24 through a number of guide rings 28, which are arranged along the rod, and terminates with a hook 52, a bait 54 'and a float 56.
The rod - 20 is detachably connected to the handle- 22 by means of a
303339 buckle pin 38 of a special embodiment, which. allows the use of rods with different weights and flexibility in combination with a certain handle.
The handle 22 is formed with partly a horizontal handle 40 and partly a vertical handle 42, arranged so that they partially, so to speak, enclose the roller 24. The significance of this special arrangement of the handles and their position in relation to the roller 24 is clear from the following.
The design of the handle 22 is best seen in the larger scale Figs. 2, 3 and 4. As can be seen from these figures, the handle 22 is molded, e.g. of plastic. From a manufacturing point of view, it is convenient to divide the handle in the longitudinal direction into two halves, which are molded separately. and held together by means of screws or rivets 4j.
If desired, the halves may be glued. Together. The handle is elongated in its general shape and bent in a similar way as a walking stick crutch with horizontal and vertical handles 40 - and 42, joined together via a part 44 intended as a support.to the thumb. Additional thumb rests 46 and 48 of similar shape are provided on the opposite end of each handle. Regardless of which hand, which. If you use one of the handles or regardless of the direction in which the handle is held, a suitable and comfortable downwardly curved thumb rest is always available. These thumb rests, as shown in Fig. P, have a transverse plane or slightly concave shape as opposed to the generally convex outside of the handles 40 and 42. It has been shown. itself, that this provides a safer and more comfortable grip than what - the usual-execution guarantees. In addition, the hand and wrist muscles are largely relaxed, so that both longer and more accurate throws are possible. The thumb supports 44, 46 and 48 can be toothed transversely, as shown at 50; these teeth serve a dual purpose, partly to improve the appearance, partly - to increase the grip safety of the thumb rests.
As shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 8, the handles 40 and 42 have a generally rectangular cross-section with rounded edges. The flat parts of the handles have inlaid strips 52 therein, which in combination with the outer rectangular -shape- of the handles give - to them the greatest grip comfort and thus allow - a longer - service life of the fishing tackle without an unnecessary - fatigue -of it - metandes- hand takes place.
The roller 24 is connected by means of a bracket 56 to an elongate foot 58, which is clamped to the handle 22 approxymately in the middle of the horizontal handle 40. It should be noted that - the position of the roller is such that its center of gravity is approxymately on a line between the rod 20 lace and that. the middle of the vertical handle 42. This gives a great degree of flexibility in use, in that equilibrium horse year, regardless of whether the handle is used in its normal position, as shown in fig. 1 and 2, or in an inverted position with the roller above the horizontal handle 40.
The manner in which the foot 58 'of the roller 24' is clamped to the handle 40 is illustrated in Figures 5-11. From Fig. 6 it can be seen that the handle 40 is provided with holes 60 and 62, close to both ends of the handle. The underside of the horizontal handle 40 is provided with an elongate recess - 64, as shown in Fig. 11. This recess extends between the center lines of the holes 60, 62 and is of the same width as the handle 40. In addition, undercut grooves 66 are provided at each end of the recess 64, which extend to the circumference of the holes 60 and 62. These grooves 66 are used to hold a washer plate 68 adjacent the bottom of the recess 64. This plate is shown in Fig. 10 and is shaped to fit the bottom of the recess 64 to the grooves 66- at each end of the recess. The purpose of the washer plate 68 is to avoid the foot 58, when the roller 24 is attached to the handle, wears or damages the surface of the plastic in the handle 40.
According to Fig. 6 ', the foot 58 is applied to the plate 68, after which a metal clamping plate 70 is laid over the ends of the foot 58 and clamped by means of the interlocking screws 72,74, which extend through the holes 60 and 62. The clamping plate 68 is curved transversely, so that it fits the shape of the handle 40. Furthermore, the clamping plate has a central cut-out 76 to make room for the roller bracket 56 'and adjacent parts of the foot 58. The roller can thus be mounted without complete 'removal' of the clamping plate. All that is required is to loosen the screws 72 and 74, insert the foot of the roller under the clamping plate and tighten the screws again.
As previously mentioned, the rod 20 is releasably connected to the handle 22 through the clamping device 58, which can be easily released to quickly and conveniently exchange the actual rod for others of different lengths and weights. The design of this special clamping device 38 is most clearly shown in Figs. 6, 7 and 12-14. As shown in Figs. 6 and 7, compared to Fig. 2, the handle 22 'extends horizontally forward from the front thumb rest 46 and terminates with a cylindrically threaded portion 75 ·
This threaded part 75 is provided with a bore, adapted to it. coarser end of the rod 20. It can be seen from Fig. 15 that the rear end of the rod is provided with grooves 77, which have a short extension in the longitudinal direction of the rod. These grooves fit over a lug 79 at the bottom to the bore in the handle 22, which lug has the task of preventing relative movement between the rod and the handle.
Before inserting the groove of the rod 20 into the bore of the handle 22, a ring 76 and a clamping sleeve 78 are applied over the rear end portion of the rod (Fig. 14). The clamping sleeve is, as shown in Fig. 14, provided with longitudinal slots So, which extend inwards from both ends of the sleeve. The ends of the sleeve are chamfered, as indicated at 82. The clamping sleeve has a tight fit in the bore in the handle 22, with the chamfer 82 abutting against the front edge of the ring 76, so that when the clamping sleeve is pressed in the longitudinal direction towards the ring, the chamfer is wedged between the ring and the rod and thus a locking 22 is obtained. This inwardly acting pressure on the clamping sleeve 78 is effected by means of a locking sleeve 84 with threads, which engages in the threaded part of the handle 22. The locking sleeve is provided with a. inner conical part, which engages with the outer end of the clamping sleeve. When the locking sleeve is tightened on the threaded part of the handle, this thus causes a wedge action on both ends of the clamping sleeve 78, so that the same is pressed against the rear end part of the rod 20 in two places. In this way a very safe one is achieved. holding the rod 20 in the handle 22. This clamping can also be easily released simply by loosening the outer locking sleeve 84. Thereby the pressure from the clamping sleeve 78 is released and the rod 20 can be displaced out of the handle to be exchanged for other desired rods. By using clamping means with duck and middle portions of different thicknesses, the handle can be adapted to rods with different diameters.
Fig.
