Background of the invention:-
This invention relates to a mated-bonded adapter, which can be placed inside a front panel on the front side and can be stopped (braked) by the spring of a receptacle plug, in contact with the one-piece or two-piece optical fiber of the housing, which has at least A flange on one side protruding from the housing cross-sectional area is aligned on the front panel, at least one plug socket is in contact with a plug front and/or back relative to the front panel, and at least one positive-locking removable plate (stop) mechanisms For plug connectors, fiber optic plug connectors or connectors connect optical fibers to laser light. Connectors of this type are usually installed in the wall of a case or front panel, adding sockets for fiber optic plugs on all sides of the front panel. To date, fiber optic connectors of this type have been repeatedly produced as SC plugs or SC connectors. However, they are now increasingly being replaced by smaller forms referred to as LX-5, LC and MU (Internet Bulletin of August 6, 2001 at 25:15 under the heading

There are CVEC connectors C20-61751 and MUVIEC connectors C6-61751. There are no LX-5 plugs yet; LX-5 is a registered trade name of ADC Communications, Inc., America, and plugs of this type have improved properties (Internet Bulletin of August 16, 2001 at 28:15 under

SC connectors and their corresponding connectors are provided in US Patent No. 5,317,663. The plug connectors are secured to the adapter on all sides by closing cams
Which are nested in depressions on all sides of the connector when the optical fiber positioning devices reach their desired position. The adapters, for simple SC connectors, are provided with drives (moving covers) on the laser light, installed in the adapter.
General description of the invention:-
The SC type ll slide-cap adapter, for SC connector, can be seen online on August 6, 2001 at 15:35 under http://www.molex.com. The movable cover is understood to mean a hinged cover attached to the front of a socket-plug hole intended to prevent the installer from being hit by laser light while inserting SC connectors. The removable covers contain laser anesthetics.
U.S. Patent No. 590586A1 describes a two-part adapter for two MU connectors, and a smaller, more advanced LSC connector that can be fixed to a front panel by means of a flange protruding from one side of the adapter, with a rebound helix succeeding after the flange to stop the adapter behind the front panel after a push in. Corresponding slot. The plug connector attaches to the adapter in a similar manner to an LSC connector.
International Patent No. 16145/00 describes fiber optic connectors and connectors of the type described. There are smaller images of the LX-5 connector, which have a cover at the front of the connector that opens automatically once a movable laser cover passes over the recoil screw installed in the adapter. During the entry phase, the finger on the plug connector, which is strongly protruding on the inner surface of the adapter, presses to open the cover closed by the snail, so that the optical fibers in the plug connector are exposed for transmitting light. The plug connector forms a complementary form applied to the adapter, which is placed laterally to the longitudinal axis of the connector and the adapter. Socket versus adapter. The connector and its two cams are mounted on a flexible lever on the connector shell respectively, and interlocked together. The cams may be opened to place the dishes using the lever on the connector.
LC connectors are also known from European Patent No. 1091226A1. It has locking mechanisms and a release lever mounted centrally on one side of the connector, by means of which the positive contact generated in the adapter can be disconnected when the connector is inserted. The adapter is produced by
Two switches are placed sideways on the lever, which engage in a corresponding switch track on the adapter. When the connector reaches its desired position in the adapter. These connectors also have helix-latch flanges for mounting to a front panel.
Instead of the bulky SC adapter, we could possibly install an adapter for the X-5, LC or MU connectors on the front panel. Although some plug connectors are unified, on various systems for different users, several different plug connectors are interconnected but not fixed
In the same adapter.
On August 17, 2001, a comprehensive adapter system for FC, ST, SC, SMD, D4 and Piconic plug connectors can be seen under the Internet heading
http://www,fiberplus.com/cpakit.htm and a universal board-mounted adapter, with which
Coupling of types FC or ST at the faceplate to each other or to DIN or E2000 plug connectors, described under the heading
http://www.fiberplus.com/upa.htm An adapter was also announced to connect LMU types to LC types by simple screw-on connection of fiber optic slide collars to threaded rings. Installing and removing adapters is time-consuming and requires great dexterity, especially in the case of small plug connectors, whose collars have a diameter of only 1.25 mm, compared to 2.50 mm in the case of SC connectors.
On August 6, 2001 at 15:30, in addition to LC and MU plugs with compatible adapters for simple or dual use, an LC adapter device was also found on the Internet at http://www.senko.com/senkoadv, which may Installed on a plate
Front: It has an LC plug socket in the front and a SC socket in the back. This adapter cannot be separated, or can be with great difficulty, from the front side once it is fixed to the front panel from the front side and interlocks behind the front panel by an extended helix. This type of installation is widespread in the case of all connections via the Premia fastener.
In the case of previous adapters and connectors, it is not known how to disconnect them from the front panel without cutting the fiber optic adapter.
For this reason, the invention is based primarily on the problem of providing an adapter that has the advantages of known plug connectors and connectors but avoiding their disadvantages.
According to the invention, the basic problem was solved by the characteristics of protection element No. 1.
Developments were covered by independent protection elements.
The universal adapter solution is basically that each plug connector has a slot for alternative reception of at least two different types, LX-5, LC and MU, of plug connectors and in each case retaining mechanisms appropriate to the type. By studying the different retention systems of plug connectors and their placement, form and function as well, this solution is unknown and amazing, as demonstrated by the long ancient field and global radioactive generation of these types of plug connectors. This solution could be implemented very simply if the retaining mechanisms for the This can also be done, and development has reached the point where the adapter is designed as a single plug adapter to receive the three alternative types, while it is determined by the position of the methods that only those adapters that are specific for the alternative reception of the LX-5 and LC plug types may be designed as a double plug adapter.
The problem of receiving a finger to move the cover of the On the other hand, that element may also be designed differently, for example, the finger may also be displaced by separate socket connectors - in the case of the LX-5 - in the entry direction.
In a further development of the invention, the adapter is intended to be closed when needed, for protection from dust and protection from laser light, according to the invention, by the fact that the plug opening may be closed by a hinged and removable cover that attaches to the housing. For this purpose, it is advisable to insert the cover into a clamping device, such as a hole for an engagement support, on the outside of the cover. For registration purposes, such as identifying the type of plug connectors to be inserted or for warning, the cover has a guide on the outer surface for pressing and placing an identification plate (indicator plate).
Furthermore, the adapter must be removably attachable to a front panel on the front side for easy installation and disassembly. For this purpose, in a method which represents an innovation in itself, the adapter is provided with a latch helix, positioned on the housing and may operate from the front side, for fixing behind the front panel and releasing the latch helix from the front panel.
The bolt helix is preferably designed as an unsupported flexible tongue, which can extend through a hole in the flange and in the front panel. For installation and operation of the adapter, in this case the bolt helix has a helix frame which wraps around the housing on at least three sides, extending through the flange and having a flexible tongue as an integral part.
In order for this type of design to occupy as little space as possible, the adapter is designed in a certain way
Such that the sockets form the maximum housing cross-section at their openings and the housing surface is in a direction to hold the helix frame and the mounted helix frame does not protrude away from the cross-sectional area of the housing on the socket receivers. The adapter installed in this way may be removed from the front panel without disconnecting
Laser.

Detailed description:-
Identical symbols indicate identical or similar functions. The schematic representation of the parts is enlarged compared to reality by a factor of about 5 - 20.
Figure No. 1 essentially shows a longitudinal portion protruding multiple (multiple) through a blank adapter for fiber optic connectors, designed here as a universal adapter 3 having a common housing 30, made of two identical, mirror-like parts, one front and the other back, 31 and 32 respectively. They meet at the flanges 41 and are fixed by sticking, for example, together, or only fixed together with a latch helix or the frame 50 of the latter. Alternatively, a positive adapter 34 (Figure 3b) can be used for parts 31, 32.
The flanges 41 are designed as short teeth, and allow the retracting tongue 51 to pass through a clearance on the surface 402 of the cover 4, in a concentric manner. This tongue is attached integrally to the metal helix frame 50, and its extended end 52 contains an ear 53 protruding from it, nested behind a front panel 10 (Figure No. 6) Thus you trap adapter 3 in the front panel. By pressing the clip 54, the ear 53 is released and the adapter can be pulled out of the front panel without the necessity of removing the plug connectors from the adapter 3.
The housing, which is also made in one piece, contains two plugs for Socket 1 and 2 at the front and rear, respectively.
Essentially, this depiction of the single adapter in Figure 2 matches the double adapter in Figure 6, apart from the different wall thicknesses of the casing. The slot sections and side guides in the adapter walls are made to order for the types of LC, LX-5, and MU-7, 8, and 9 plug connectors.
Along the holes in the sockets of the socket connector 1, 2, a centering device 43 for the collar or light guide 20 is recessed in the housing (Figures 3a, 3b). So that the operator does not involuntarily look into the laser beam, the adapter includes a movable laser cap 44, which is held in the closed position indicated by a helix 45, and may be pressed down by plug connectors or a cap (Figure 3a). The hole 46 engages the bolt finger 61 of the cover 61 with the cover 6, 60 (Figure 3a) or 62 (Figure 6). The cap finger 42 opens the cap, not shown, of an LX-5.8 plug connector, already known from the old model. The cover finger 42 is positioned at the end of an unreinforced, flexibly displaceable tab 421, which forms an integral part of the side wall 401 of the cover 30 and responds in the manner described in Figures 4 and 5. Retention mechanisms 28 for LX-5 plug connectors include 8 (Figures No. 3B and 6) on the cover 30 and its latch 48, in a groove on its upper side 402, in which the two cams 81 on the flexible lever 82 can be engaged.
The retention mechanisms 29 of the MU9 plug connectors include a locking cam 49 in the side wall 401 of the housing; This hump engages in a depression, not shown, in the socket connector 9 and in this way traps the latter in the adapter. The detention mechanisms 27 in the LC7 socket connector are depicted in Figure 3a.
Figure 2 shows the adapter 3 as a single connector, complete with cap 60, LC plug connector 7, and latch spring 5. It can clearly be seen that the individual housing 40 has its surface in the side wall 403 and the top side 402 between the flanges 41 and the largest section of the housing 33, near the openings for the socket connector sockets 1, 2. A depression in which the helix frame 50 rests and thus does not protrude beyond the extension of the largest cross-section 33 of the shell.
Figure 3a shows that single adapter 3 in a longitudinal section with a cover 60 at the adapter socket and full entry of the C7 plug connector into the rear socket 2, together causing the light guide 20 to be centered with respect to the centering device 43, and Figure 3b shows,
On the other hand, the same adapter without the cap, but with the LX-5, 8 plug connector inserted.
The LC socket connector 7 has a retaining lever 73 at the retention mechanisms 27 on the socket housing 70, which has cams 72 on all sides, engaging behind a holder 47 on the housing 40 when the socket connector is in the position shown. Using the release lever 71, pressure can be applied to the retaining lever 73, causing the flexible plastic levers to move down and the cams 70 to separate from the retainer 47, so that the plug connector can be withdrawn.
Figure 3B shows a similar situation for a fully inserted 8-conductor socket, but without a cover for clarity. The light guides 20 follow the focusing device 43 in one of the axes; The retention mechanisms 28 operate. The cam 82 is attached to the release lever 81 of the socket housing 80 on all sides, which engages in the holder 48 of the adapter housing 40 and, after pressing down on the flexible release lever 81, can be further detached.
Figure 5 shows a 3& adapter for simultaneous and parallel connection of two 20 light guides inside the 4 adapter housing.
Figure 5 shows a 3 adapter corresponding to Figures 2, 3a and 3b with partial insertion of the MU9 socket connector, but without its retention mechanisms, which are explained by referring to Figure 1.
In Figure 4, the LX-5 socket connector (8) at the top represents the L-C socket connector at the bottom. The housing finger 42, which is necessary for the universal plug connection of the conductors, in the case of the LX-5 connector (8) has its own cam path or cam 83 and therefore remains in place with respect to the housing 4. In the case of the LC7 connector or the MU9 connector on the other hand In the other, a conductor rests with one edge of its shell 70 or 90 on the finger of the shell 42 while the conductors are pushed into the conductor. Figure No. 4a shows that position as the magnified, correctly positioned differential for connector LC7 and the mirror-reversed one for connector MU9 according to the position of the housing finger in the circuit. If you push the connectors further into the adapter, the tab pushes
Flexible 421, housing finger 42 towards the side and clears the path of the socket connector 7a and 9. Here the side wall includes, for example, only a tenon 421, surrounded on the outside only by a spiral frame 50 or 55.
Figure 6 shows a double-cased adapter 3&, mounted in a hole 11 of the front panel 10 and retained by a helix 5 on the helix 55, which surrounds the adapter 3. The retention mechanisms may be released by pressing the clamp 54 on the helix 5. as already described in itself.
Two connectors are inserted at the rear, as shown in Figure No. 4, 7, and 8, of types C and LX-5, respectively, while at the front the cover 62 closes the adapter or all of its openings at the same time.
It is preferable that the covers 6 are general, or 60 for single conductors and 62 for double conductors in accordance with Figures 3a, 6, of flexible plastic, with a latch finger 61 for interlocking and fixing in a hole 46 on the housing, 4, 30, 40, and an articulated flexible clamp 63 for axial rotation of the plug 64 , 64 for the cover, in order to open or close the adapter slots, and at the same time as a dust protector and - in the case of adapters without a movable laser cover 44 - also as an eye protector. The front part 65 contains a guide 66, for inserting an identification plate 67, provided with a description or identification, regarding the type of adapters, plug connectors allowed to be inserted or the like.
