TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a method and system for processing content, and more particularly to a method and a host system for processing content capable of providing services domain DRM (digital rights management) with respect to inappropriate content, and a method and a base system to protect the integrity of content which should be implemented in existing interoperable DRM system by the method and the base system for content processing.
BACKGROUND
In recent years, as the information was quickly presented in digital form, the copyright in the digital content becomes important. Generally, unlike analogue content, since a digital content can be unlimitedly copied without a loss of information, the digital content can be easily vulnerable to illegal copying and use. Accordingly, a content protection technique capable of reliably protecting the digital content against illegal copy and use has to be maintained in order to provide a service for the transmission of digital content.
Digital Rights Management (DRM) is a whole digital content protection technology, is capable of providing the ability to use digital content only legally authorized user. DRM provides a whole security infrastructure for the distribution of digital content. For example, the digital content is transformed into encrypted data in packet form through the use of encryption technology. Digital content can not be used without a legal authentication flowchart.
DRM becomes the basis for the maintenance of security and legal content in conjunction with the various models of services for the transmission of content. In practice, modern service providers to transfer the content using DRM, unique for today's service providers to transfer content to protect content delivered by modern service providers to transfer content. For example, in the case of services for the delivery of sound sources audio sources via a permanent connection, sound sources, which are encoded in a predetermined encryption scheme, supplied so as to prevent illegal copying. Sound sources reproducible only through the use of an application service provider. Accordingly, a user buys a sound source service provider and reproduces sound sources using a device such as a personal computer (PC, PC), mobile phone, MP3-player and the like, in which the application is installed, your service provider.
However, since the DRM has properties of technical and political conventions, generally, different DRM incompatible with each other. Accordingly, although the service to transfer DRM content has the advantages of protection and legality of the service compared to the normal transmission of content services on transfer DRM content it is advantageous for the reason that the use of content is limited and inconvenient. The aforementioned problem deteriorates flexibility of the structure distribution of digital content. In conclusion, the problem interferes with activation of market services for the transmission of digital content.
Recently, proposed having the opportunity to interact DRM system, which includes having the opportunity of external cooperation framework in which different DRM compatible with each other.
Having interoperable DRM systems typically apply the concept of domain as a basic unit of a trusted infrastructure DRM. The domain can specify a set of authenticated devices or a set of software systems. It is possible that the device or system software (hereinafter together referred to as devices) in the domain are authenticated through a predetermined procedure, used in conjunction with the content by the same or different DRM DRM within the allowed area.
Having a DRM interoperable system may be established by determining the function objects (entities) on the basis of the environment in which the entities that form the domain physically interact with each other and by proper binding entities to each other.
However, in the past, there is inappropriate content, which is not supported by the system having the opportunity to interact DRM. Since inappropriate content is not supported by the system having the opportunity to interact DRM, having the opportunity to interact with the DRM system does not share the inappropriate content. That is inappropriate content can be in contradiction with inappropriate content, which may be supported by having a system of interoperable DRM.
Unsuitable contents can be divided into pure and impure contents contents.
Net contents can specify the original content that are not encrypted and are not scrambled. Since the net contents shall not apply with DRM, in most cases they do not have information about their rights. Accordingly, the contents can be unboundedly used, and, despite this, the contents can not be protected.
Although impure contents encrypted or scrambled, the impure contents may indicate contents DRM, not supported by the service domain DRM. Although information about the rights to use the content may be impure, rights information does not satisfy the rights information used in the building and, therefore, can not provide the service domain against impure DRM content. For example, the sound sources stored on the CD-ROM (CD), is scrambled in order to prevent illegal copying. Copyright may be assigned by the controlled copy. However, the method of application of copyright to the service DRM domain is not prepared.
Pure or impure contents contents may occupy most of the currently distributed content. However, in the past, content to maintain existing systems interoperable DRM, limited to the relevant content. However, the set contents are not supported by the service domain DRM. The problem becomes one of the important factors that delay the promotion and commercialization of the services domain DRM. Accordingly, it is required to have developed a method and system for supporting the base of inappropriate content.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Further, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In addition, in order to clearly describe exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, specific technical terms are used. However, the present invention is not limited to the selected specific technical terms, and each specific technical term includes all technical synonyms which operate in a similar way in order to reach this point.
1 - block diagram illustrating the basic entities that make up the system of having interoperable DRM. In Figure 1, an example of the relationship between a domain, the main entities which constitute a domain, and other entities.
As shown in Figure 1, having the possibility of interaction DRM system 100 is a domain 10 as the basic unit of a trusted DRM system. There is a domain service area served by having a system of interoperable DRM. Domain 10 may indicate a set comprising authenticated device, system software, communication nodes, and the like.
Domain 10 can be created using a physical concept. Optionally, the domain 10 may be created using only a logical concept. Optionally, the domain 10 can be created by using physical and logical concept. For example, domain 10 could be constructed as a set of authenticated devices in a separate local area. Optionally, the domain 10 may be constructed as a set of logically authenticated devices independent of the local area. Optionally, the domain 10 may be constructed as a set comprising a set of authenticated devices in the local area and a set of logically authenticated devices that are external to the local area.
The present invention will be described in a case where having interoperable DRM system 100 is the domain that created using a physical concept. Accordingly, hereinafter, a domain 10 may indicate a set of authenticated devices in a separate local area. However, the present invention is not limited to such. It is possible to apply the aforementioned different domains (e.g., a set of logical devices independent of the local region, the kit comprising authenticated device in the local area, and authenticate devices that are external to the local area, and the like) in addition to the domain that It is built using physical concept related to this invention.
When having interoperable DRM system 100 is a domain 10, the user is logged in the system, having the opportunity to interact 100 DRM, create a domain using the devices in the local area and use the correct content. For example, a user creates a domain, setting up a home user to the local area. The user can legally share the sound sources, videos, games and the like, which are protected by different DRM, including devices such as a personal computer (PC, PC), a portable multimedia player (PMP), MP3-player, CD-player, mobile phone , a personal digital assistant (PDA) and the like and to reproduce sound sources, video games and the like.
Referring to Figure 1, having the possibility of interaction DRM system 100 may be constituted entities such as a client 140, a content converter 130, the controller 110 of the domain manager 120 right, the reference point controller 150, and the like.
At this time, essentially 110 to 150 have unique features as modules that can be installed in a predetermined device in the domain or out 10. The main function of each entity, and preferred installation location of each entity will be described later.
1. Client 140: 140 client is an entity, which finally uses the content. That is, the client 140 may indicate an endpoint that uses content. The client 140 may be installed on the device in the domain 10, such as a mobile phone, PC, PDA, TV, CD, PMP, mobile MP3-player and the like. At this time, the device on which the client 140 will be referred to as a client device. Predetermined DRM may be installed on the client device. The client 140 supports various functions in conjunction with other entities 110 to 130, so that the client device can be compatible with another type of DRM.
2. Transformer 130 content: content converter 130 serves to convert the received content into the content from the outside to specify the target DRM. For example, when administered to the DRM content A, the content converter 130 converts the content from the DRM content A with a DRM B, which is a target DRM. In addition, the content converter 130 can convert clean content which is not applicable to DRM, a DRM content to the target. Alternatively, the content converter 130 can convert the encrypted or scrambled content in a content to a target DRM. A content converter 130 may be mounted at a predetermined device such as the client device. In some cases, the content converter 130 can be installed in the external system.
3. Domain Manager 110: 110 Manager domain is the entity that is used to manage the domain 10. For example, the domain manager 110 can be used to create a domain 10 10 Elimination of domain, registration and management of the client and the client device 140, the authentication client 140, registration and Control reference point controller, and the controller authentication datum.
Domain manager 110 may exist at any location in or outside the domain 10. For example, in the example shown in Figure 1, the controller 110 domain exists outside of domain 10. Preferably, the domain manager 110 can be installed in the system at the service provider side. Manager domain can interact with the devices in the domain through a global communication network such as the Internet. Instead, domain manager 110 may exist in the domain 10. In this case, the domain manager 110 can be installed on a predetermined device in the domain 10.
4. Manager 120 rights: the rights manager 120 serves to manage information about user rights to use the content and delivery of general license to use the content. There is a general license is compatible license information from which can be extracted from the different type of license DRM. In addition, the controller 120 of the rules is a typical online service manager which provides the function of registration, so that the user can access the system, having the opportunity to interact 100 DRM, and stores information about user rights to use the content. A user who is accessing the system, having the opportunity to interact 100 DRM, using the registration rights of the controller 120, can create a domain 10, causing the domain controller 110, and uses content from the client device is registered in the domain 10. As described above, the client device can Pointing device on which the client 140, the domain 10.
As shown in Figure 1, the controller 120 rights may be installed outside the domain, for example, in the system on the service provider side. However, the controller 120 of the rules should not exist on the service provider side. In some cases, the domain manager 120 can be installed on a predetermined device in the domain 10.
5. The reference point controller 150: controller 150 is a reference point entity which determines the range of the local area and an environment for creating domain 10. Range local area may be determined based on the physical distance, number of hops, a reaction time and the like. Controller 150 pivot point includes a function to check the proximity device, periodically or at a preset time. The controller 150 may be a reference point to check whether there is a predetermined device in the local area. In addition, the reference point controller 150 may deliver the mandate of the client domain 140, which is checked for existence in the local area. At this time, the mandate domain to display the information indicating that the client 140 exists in the local area.
In addition, the controller 150 may serve as a reference point as a representative of which is representative clients 140, domain 10 in the local area. For example, the reference point controller 150 may serve as an intermediary when the information is exchanged between client 140 and domain controller 110. Alternatively, controller 150 may serve as a reference point for storing and managing customer information 140 belonging to the domain of 10, and providing information to the dispatcher 110 domain.
Reference point controller 150 may be defined as a predetermined device in the domain 10 in the local area. That is, the reference point controller 150 may be a device selected from among the client devices in the domain. For this purpose, when a domain 10 is created in an initial stage, the sequence of operations of selecting a reference point controller 150.
The sequence of operations of the controller 150 selecting the reference point can be performed through the exchange of information between client devices. For example, when a domain 10 is created in an initial stage, the client devices communicate performance between the client devices. Client device, the performance of which is high can be selected as the reference point controller 150. At this time, performance can have shows numerical information on the performance of the device, such as the residual battery capacity, the specification of the system, speed networking and the like.
Alternatively, the flow controller 150 selecting the reference point controller 110 may be performed domain. For example, when a domain 10 is created in an initial stage, the client device, provide information about the performance of the client devices by the controller 110 of the domain. Domain manager 110 may select a client device, the performance of which is high, as the reference point controller 150 by comparing pieces of information about the reported performance client devices with each other.
On the other hand, in the flowchart of selecting the reference point controller 150, may be selected candidate device that is to replace the reference point controller 150, 150 when the reference point controller error occurs. Reference point controller 150 informs the controller 150 normally operates the reference point, periodically exchanging information signals with the domain controller 110 or a predetermined customer. When information signals are transmitted from the controller 150 a reference point controller 110 or a predetermined domain client, the current controller 150 loses datum position reference point controller 150, and device controller candidate can replace the reference point. In this case, a new reference point controller registers the domain controller.
While beneficial to immobile device domain that has a lot of computing resources, as determined by the controller 150 pivot point, the mobile device domain, such as a mobile phone, it can also be defined as a controller 150 pivot point.
Having interoperable DRM system 100, moreover, may include a virtual client, the client substituent, and the like, in addition to the aforementioned entities 110 through 150. Description of the entities that are not directly related to the present invention will be omitted.
When using an interoperable DRM system 100, a user can share and use the content to client devices belonging to a domain 10, although the types of DRM, installed on the client devices in the domain 10 are different from each other.
2 illustrates an example of the basic work having interoperable system 100 DRM. Figure 2 illustrates the operation to be carried out in existing interoperable system 100 DRM, when the content is DRM-A is stored on the client device A CA, and when the user wants to transfer DRM-A content to the client device B CB, and use the content on the client device B CB.
With reference to Figure 2 CA client device A and client device B CB must be checked to be members of a domain 10, by requesting the domain manager 110 to authenticate the client device A CA and CB client device B (step S1 and S2).
A CA client device generates a request for transmitting the content-DRM A client device B CB after authentication of the client device A CA and client device B CB. The request may be transmitted to the transmitter 130 and content rights manager 120 (Steps S3 and S4). A content converter 130 converts the content into DRM-A content suitable for the DRM-B (step S5), and transmits the content suitable for DRM-B, the client device B CB (step S6).
On the other hand, the rights manager 120 stores and manages information about user rights. Information about rights includes information about user rights to use the content DRM-A. Dispatcher 120 provides overall rights license that includes information on the user rights to use the content DRM-A, the client device B CB (step S7). Issued general license specifies the license information that is compatible with DRM A and DRM B.
Accordingly, after the client device B CB provides a common license server 20 B-DRM licenses, the client device B receives the license DRM CB-B, required for use of the content transmitted from the server 20 B-DRM licenses, the license to use the DRM- R (step S8 and S9). At the same time, the controller 120 may provide the rights server 20 licenses DRM-B the ability to deliver DRM-B license to the client device B CB through the direct delivery of general licenses for the server 20 licenses DRM-B. Alternatively, the rights manager 120 may receive a license DRM-B, suitable for DRM B, and supplying the received B-DRM license to the client device B CB, after the controller 120 provides overall rights license server 20 B-DRM licenses.
3 illustrates an example of the operation of the system having the opportunity to interact DRM, when inappropriate content is introduced to the client device. Figure 3, shows the structure having a DRM interoperable system according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention and the process of inappropriate content.
As shown in Figure 3, having interoperable system 100 'DRM according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention further includes a processor 150 inappropriate content, in order to handle inappropriate content. Inappropriate content processor 150 is used to convert an inappropriate content, which is received from a source 30 content, content with a format that can be supported by having interoperable system 100 'DRM. Accordingly, the outer inappropriate content can be introduced into existing interoperable system 100 'DRM through 150 processor inappropriate content.
First of all, the CPU 150 receives content inappropriate inappropriate predetermined content to be transmitted from a source 30 of content to the client device A CA (step S10). At this time, the source of 30 content may indicate a device including the content in the local environment, such as a PC, CD-player, CD player blue-ray (BD), player of holographic disks (HD), set-top box, mobile phone, television (TV, TV), and the like. Alternatively, content source 30 may indicate an external device or system that are communicating via a global communication network such as the Internet, for example, the content server. At this time, the device shows a concept including a logic device, such as system software in addition to a physical device (e.g., when a plurality of software systems exist in a predetermined physical device, and when the system software has DRM or reproducing system different each from each other, each software system is considered as a separate device).
Inappropriate content received inappropriate content processor 150 may be a source of sound, videos, games, pictures, and the like. Inappropriate content may indicate a clean content with a type that is not encrypted or scrambled, content or with an impure type which is not compatible with another DRM. For example, when the source content is 30 CD-player, inappropriate content are sources of sound The CD, which is inserted in the CD-player. In this case, sound sources indicate content from impure type. The processor 150 may receive inappropriate content inappropriate content, asking for the content source 30 to supply an inappropriate content, or content taking in response to the transfer request from the source 30 content.
Inappropriate content processor 150 receives information about inappropriate content in addition to the inappropriate content (step S11). At this time, the CPU 150 inappropriate content can receive information about inappropriate content, asking for the content source 30 to supply the information or taking input from the user. When information about inappropriate content received through the input data from the user, the processor 150 inappropriate content provides a window to enter information about the content to the user.
Information about inappropriate content includes information on the administrator, user information, information about the name of the content, format information of the content, the content index, the information on the limitation of rights and the like.
Information about the administrator can specify the address (eg, address, uniform resource locator (URL)) administrator who performs general management, DRM when given the opportunity to be compatible with another DRM. For example, information about the administrator can include the address of the controller 120 of the controller 110, or the rights of a domain having interoperable system 100 'DRM. As described above, the controller or human domain manager may be included in the service provider side. In this case, the processor 150 of inappropriate content can receive information about the user, information about the name of the content, format information of the content restriction information rights index information of the content, and the like, after the access controller rights or manager of the domain which is a system on the side of the service provider, using the information on the administrator included in the transmitted information about the content.
Information about the user can specify the user information that is available to inappropriate content, and which is able to use the content. Information on the name content can specify the name of inappropriate content, such as the name of the sound source, such as a «Beyonce - Crazy Love», name of the movie «Love Actually», and the like. The format information may indicate a content format information file inappropriate content.
Index content may indicate a unique identifier for indexing inappropriate content. Index content may be delivered, or content source 30 can be set input from the user, so that the index of the content can not be the same as the content in DRM-A, which is shared in the domain 10 '. When the index is the same content as the content in DRM-A, which is shared in the domain 10 ', an error occurs in the general procedure for issuing the license, which will be described later, and the user requesting the user to enter the new index content.
Information about limitation of rights may provide information about the restriction of the use of inappropriate content. For example, information on the limitation of the right to determine the range of assumptions within which the non-compliant content, such as "100 times the playback," "reproduction within thirty days", "an infinite amount of time playing", "ten times of copying", and the like. Information about the restriction of the rights included in the overall license, when issued general license.
Inappropriate content processor 150 may receive information on the limitation of the rights of the user or automatically extract information about the restriction of the rights from the content source. Here, when the user enters information about the restriction of the rights, the user can enter the information on the limitation of rights through a window to enter information about the content, which is issued by the processor 150 of inappropriate content.
In the case of inappropriate content, more accurately net content, there are no rights information. When there is no information about their rights, the user must enter a pre-defined information about the limitation of rights through a window to enter information about the content, which is issued by the processor 150 of inappropriate content. For example, when the user wishes to protect and freely use the content with a pure type, which is produced or obtained by the user based on a predetermined limit, the user can enter information about the restriction of the rights to the processor 150 inappropriate content. On the other hand, when inappropriate content or pure content can provide information on the limitation of the content as a recommendation or warning, the user prevents unauthorized use of the content by entering the information on the limitation of the rights corresponding to the recommendation or warning, the processor 150 inappropriate content or removing the restriction information the rights of the content source 30.
In addition, in the case of impure content, information about the limitation of rights may be based on the functions controlled copy. Controlled copying function indicates the function of providing content to the user an opportunity to buy the right to use the content by accessing the content source, such as server services for the transmission of content over a network. At this time, it is possible that a user copy or use the content as many times as the number of which has been approved by the copyright owner, or the amount required by the user. That is information on the limitation of rights exists in the function controlled copy. In this case, the content side of the source 30 can supply information about the restriction of the rights, which is formed as a result of the purchase, the processor 150 of inappropriate content. Alternatively, the user can directly input restriction information processor 150 in human inappropriate content. Inappropriate content may include a restriction information of content which is not included in the existing DRM system. Information about limitation of rights may be entered and reflected.
When we received relevant content and information on the appropriate content processor 150 requests content inappropriate content converter 130 to convert the corresponding content (step S12). Then, the content converter 130 converts the corresponding content with DRM content A, which is a target DRM (operation S13).
Here, when relevant content is impure content converter 130 converts the content relevant content in the pure content, we decrypt the appropriate content. Since impure content is encrypted or scrambled for decoding impure content decryption key is required. The processor 150 may receive inappropriate content decryption key, content querying the source 30 to supply the decryption key (or information on the components that derive the decryption key) and deliver the decryption key to the inverter 130 content. Alternatively, the content converter 130 may directly request the content source 30 to supply the decryption key.
Subsequently, the content converter 130 encodes the decrypted content to the pure content format that reproduces the client device A CA, and packs the transcoded content to a format suitable for DRM A, which is a target DRM. Accordingly, the content is converted into a corresponding DRM content-A. When relevant content is pure content, the content converter 130 can perform the procedure for transcoding and encryption procedure without performing the decryption process.
When the content is converted into a corresponding DRM content A by the above-procedure, the content transmitter 130 transmits the converted content is DRM-A to the client device A CA (step S14). Accordingly, the client device A CA can store content DRM-A, obtained by conversion of inappropriate content. Here, the client device A CA is a device that is authenticated by the domain manager 110 as a member server.
On the other hand, the CPU 150 transmits content inappropriate content information relevant to the content and the rights manager makes a request for a general license (step S15). At this time, the content information includes a content index, restricting the rights information, and the like.
Manager 120 generates a general license rights, including information on the limitation of the rights of the content in a predetermined (mandatory) information format and outputs form a common license to the client device A CA (step S17). At this time, the total issued a license indicates information about having the opportunity to interact license that recoverability of DRM, which is supported by having the possibility of interaction system 100 'DRM in addition to DRM A. When issuing a general license, in the case where the index of the content included in the information of the content is the same as the other content that is already in use, the controller 120 the right to make a request to provide a new content index informing the processor 150 of inappropriate content index of content included in the content information is the same as that of other content. In this case, the processor 150 inappropriate content requests that the user enters a new content index, or requests a content source to provide the new content index.
The client device A CA, which takes the total license provides a general license for the server 70 licenses DRM-A and requests the server 70 licenses DRM-A, to issue licenses to DRM-A, for use with content DRM-A, which is received from the transmitter 130 content (step S18). Then, the license server 70 issues a DRM-A-A DRM license for DRM content A-A to the client device CA, using the provided total license (step S19).
Accordingly, the client device A CA can use the content is DRM-A, obtained by converting the corresponding content with the issued license DRM-A (step S20). In addition, it is possible to share the DRM A, stored on the client device A CA, another client device (not shown). Here, the operation for compatibility between the DRM client devices in the domain has been described with reference to Figure 2.
On the other hand, when issuing a general license as described above, the controller 120 may provide common rights license to the client device A CA. Optionally, after the issuance of the general license processor 150 of inappropriate content or source 30 content license DRM-A can be transmitted to the client device A CA, providing essentially that takes overall license to request server 70 licensing DRM-A, to issue a license DRM -A. Optionally, the rights manager 120 may directly deliver common license server 70-A DRM license, and the license server 70 DRM-A, which receives general license can issue DRM-A license to use the content-DRM A client device A CA.
Until now there has been described a method of delivery of the content that is not compatible with another DRM, the client device A CA domain 10 ', which is an area having the service interoperability. 3, although inappropriate content processor 150 is shown as a separate entity in the domain, the present invention is not limited to such. Inappropriate content processor may be located at any location in or outside the domain. In addition, the processor inappropriate content can be individually set to a predetermined device or may be integrated into a predetermined entity having interoperable DRM systems as its function.
Figure 4 illustrates the structure of having interoperable system 100 '' DRM, when the processor 150 'inappropriate content included in the client device A CA'. In this case, the processor 150 'inappropriate content can be installed as a separate entity from the customer, which is an entity installed on the client device A CA'. Alternatively, the processor 150 'inappropriate content can be implemented as a client function, being included in the client in the form of a submodule.
Referring to Figure 4, when the processor 150 'inappropriate content included in the client device A CA', client device A CA 'can serve for inappropriate content and its content information, request the creation and transformation of content creation request for a general license . At this time, the user can enter information about the content corresponding to the content to the client device A CA 'domain 10' '.
On the other hand, when an inappropriate content is not a pure type, for example, when inappropriate content are sound sources CD, client device A CA 'retrieves the decryption key for decrypting inappropriate content or information about the component, from which the decryption key is recoverable from the source 30 content or accepts the decryption key information about the component or by requesting a content source 30 to provide the decryption key, or information about the component.
5 illustrates the structure of having interoperable system 100 '' 'DRM, when the processor 150' 'inappropriate content included in the source 30' content.
Referring to Figure 5, when the processor 150 '' inappropriate content included in the source 30 'content source 30' content requests converter 130 having content interoperability system 100 '' 'DRM, to transform content, and requests the controller 120 rights having interoperable system 100 '' 'DRM, to issue a general license to directly retrieving information about the content. At this time, the user can enter information about the content corresponding to the content by accessing the source 30 'content.
In addition, when inappropriate content is not a pure type, source 30 'can deliver content decryption key for decrypting the content or inappropriate content information from which to extract the decryption key, the inverter 130 content.
On the other hand, when inappropriate content is introduced into a system of having interoperable DRM, you must protect the integrity of inappropriate content. At this time, the integrity of inappropriate content may indicate a state in which an inappropriate content has no defect, that is an inappropriate content is not damaged due to spoilage. Accordingly, when the guaranteed integrity, inappropriate content is secure and trusted content.
In the future, will be detailed processing procedure of inappropriate content, allowing inappropriate content integrity protection and the basic system for her.
FIG. 6 to 9 illustrate examples of system structures to protect the integrity of inappropriate content.
First of all, with reference to Figure 6, in order to ensure the integrity of inappropriate content, which is transmitted from the source content 200 having interoperable system 500 DRM, the system should include a controller 300 to control the integrity of the content integrity check of inappropriate content, which is transmitted from 200 source content having interoperable system 500 DRM.
Manager 300 integrity of the content is to request protection system to verify the integrity of inappropriate content, which is transmitted from the source 200 of the content in having interoperable system 500 DRM definitions referred Do inappropriate content, based on the result an integrity check, and reports the determination result in having the opportunity to interact DRM system 500 or 200 source content. There has interoperable DRM system 500 may indicate the system which includes the above-mentioned processing function of inappropriate content (100 'in Figure 3, 100' 'of Figure 4 and 100' '' of Figure 5). In addition, the integrity of the content manager 300 can perform the above functions in relation to the relevant content, which is entered from the outside in having interoperability system 500 DRM, in addition to inappropriate content.
Integrity manager 300 may interact with content system 400 protection. Protection system 400 serves to check the integrity of inappropriate content, which requested content integrity manager 300. Protection system 400 may be a system check for viruses. In addition, system 300 may have a protection function of eliminating an error when an error is detected as a result of inappropriate content integrity check, in addition to the function of verifying the integrity of inappropriate content.
As shown in Figure 6, the protection system 400 can communicate with the controller 300 having the integrity of the content and interoperable DRM system 500 is having interoperability system 500 DRM. Alternatively, the system 400 can be incorporated into existing interoperable system 500 DRM. 7 shows that the system 400 'of protection can be incorporated into existing interoperable system 500' DRM.
In addition, as shown in Figure 6, the content integrity manager 300 may be generated externally to the system as, apart from having an interoperable DRM system 500. Alternatively, the controller 300 the integrity of the content may be included in the system having the opportunity to interact 500 DRM. 8 shows that the controller 300 '' integrity of the content may be included in the existing interoperability system 500 '' DRM as an entity.
On the other hand, the controller 300 and the integrity of the content protection system 400 can be incorporated into existing interoperable system 500 DRM. Figure 9 shows a case where the controller 300 the integrity of the content and the system 400 'of protection are included in the system having the opportunity to interact 500' 'DRM. Which system is selected from among the systems of Figure 6 and 8 is determined based on runtime.
10 illustrates an example of a procedure to protect the integrity of inappropriate content, which is entered in the system having the opportunity to interact DRM. The system employs the system structure shown in Figure 6, in order to easily understand the procedure.
As shown in Figure 10, the predetermined inappropriate content transmitted from the source 200 of content manager 300 integrity of the contents (step S40). There inappropriate content should be introduced in the existing interoperability system 500 DRM.
Manager 300 requests the system integrity protection system 400 to verify the integrity of the transmitted inappropriate content (step S41). The system then checks the integrity of the 400 protection of inappropriate content in response to the above request (step S42). When checking the integrity, there are cases, including cases where there are no errors in an inappropriate content, and cases where an error is detected in an inappropriate content. When the integrity check is completed, the protection system 400 according to the result of checking the integrity of the integrity of the controller 300 (step S43).
Content integrity manager 300 determines whether the inappropriate content in having the opportunity to interact DRM system, based on the result an integrity check (step S44) and notifies the determination result in having the opportunity to interact DRM system and content source (operations S45 and S46).
For example, as a result of an integrity check when inappropriate content is no error, the controller 300 the integrity of the content determines that the integrity of the non-conforming content is guaranteed, and reports in the existing interoperability system 500 and DRM source 200 is content that inappropriate content is normally transferred to having the opportunity of interacting systems 500 DRM. Then, inappropriate content is transmitted in the system having the opportunity to interact 500 DRM. At this time, the information to indicate that the integrity of the scanned protection system 400 may be inserted into the transmitted inappropriate content.
On the other hand, as a result of an integrity check when inappropriate content error is detected, the controller 300 the integrity of the content determines that the integrity of the non-conforming content is not provided, and reported on having interoperable system 500 and DRM source 200 is content that it is impossible to convey inappropriate content having interoperable system 500 DRM. At this time, the controller 300 may query the integrity of the content source content 200 to verify the integrity of, and may request the content source 200 to re-transmit a certified content. In addition, the controller 300 transmits the report of the integrity of the content that it is impossible to convey an inappropriate content, just having the opportunity to interact in the system 500 DRM. Having interoperability system 500 DRM, which receives the report, it may be reported to the source content 200 that is impossible to convey inappropriate content by sending the message to show that it is impossible to issue a general license to the source content 200, and again to make a request for the transfer of inappropriate content.
On the other hand, the integrity check when inappropriate content error is detected, the controller 300 can request the content integrity protection system 300 to recover the content is inappropriate. Protection system 400 may report the result of the recovery manager 300 after the restoration of the integrity of the content inappropriate content in response to a request. Content integrity manager 300, which receives the report, may determine whether to transmit inappropriate content, on the grounds that, if done properly requested restore, and report the result of determination in having the opportunity to interact DRM system 500 or 200 source content. That is, when the restoration carried out properly, it is reported that the content is normally transmitted by determining that ensure the integrity of inappropriate content. When the restoration is not done properly, it is reported that it is impossible to convey inappropriate content.
So far, the technology has been described for providing a service domain by importing inappropriate content included in the content source to a client device in the domain. The user can share and use inappropriate content among devices with the same or different DRM DRM, importing irrelevant content stored in the computer, mobile phone, CD, BD, HD, and the like, a predetermined client device in the domain.
It will be described another example in which the user purchases a CD, BD and HD, imports inappropriate content stored on the optical medium, and uses the domain inappropriate content. In the embodiment which will be described later, are underlined procedures of purchase content from the service to reproduce the content.
11 illustrates an example of a method for processing content according to another embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to Figure 11, first, the user buys an optical medium in an independently working store 710 (step S100). For example, the user purchases a CD or BD required to store entries.
At this time, the content purchased by the user is stored on the optical medium. The content may be inappropriate to impure content type. An optical recording medium stores decryption key information for decrypting the content, information about the use rights management for content, the content revocation list to protect content against illegal use and revocation list of devices, and the like, in addition to the content. Here, the decryption key information indicates a decryption key for decrypting the content or inappropriate information about the component from which to extract the decryption key. In addition, information on the rules of use can provide information about the restriction of the use, included in the content information from the content.
You can play back content stored on the media purchased through the device 730 playback optical media (eg, CD-player or BD-player). The apparatus 730 reproducing optical media can be made actuator 732 of the optical carrier for the physical inclusion of an optical carrier to actuate the optical recording medium, and host 731 includes an application and an operating system (OS, OS) for reproducing content stored on the optical medium. When playing content flowchart authentication may be performed between the optical media drive 732 and the host 731 (step S110).
12 illustrates an exemplary procedure for performing authentication between the optical carrier and the host.
As shown in Figure 12, the host 731 transmits a host device certificate 731 in the optical media drive 732 (step S112). The certificate of the host device 731 may specify a unique device certificate included in the host 731 when the host 731 is manufactured.
Optical media drive 732 checks whether the received device certificate in the revocation list of devices that is stored on optical media 800. When the certificate of the host device 731 is not included in the revocation list of devices you can send a message to confirm to provide the ability to play content (step S114). Then, the host 731 may reproduce content stored on the optical medium. Terms of Use, stored on optical media can be taken into account when playing content.
Alternatively, when the device certificate is transmitted from the host 731 is included in the revocation list of devices, optical drive device 732 may transmit a message prohibiting for prohibiting reproduction of content by the host 731 to the host 731. In this case, the host is not allowed to reproduce the content.
On the other hand, in order to transmit the content stored on optical media 800, the client device 740 in the domain, the user may register device including an actuator 732 of the optical carrier, which is an apparatus 730 reproducing optical media domain (Step S120) . At this time, the domain controller 721 may be included in the online store 720 external service provider. In the description with reference to Figure 1 has already been described that the domain manager 721 can be included in the system on the service provider side.
13 illustrates an example of a registration procedure of a reproducing apparatus for optical media domain.
As shown in Figure 13, ID (identifier) for uniquely identifying the content of content stored on optical media 800, and a disk volume ID for uniquely identifying the optical recording medium are stored on the optical recording medium 800. When the controller 721 requesting domain registration apparatus 730 reproducing optical media in a domain, the device 730 can playback optical media provide the content ID and the ID of the disk volume controller domain. In addition, when the registration request unit 730 playback optical media in a domain, the device 730 of optical media playback delivers a unique device ID from the device playback of optical media and user domain controller 721. At this time, the optical reproducing apparatus 730 may receive media information from user to user.
As described above, the apparatus 730 reproducing optical media delivers content ID, ID of the disc volume, a device identifier, user information, and the like, the controller 721 of the domain that is an entity for managing domains, and requests the controller 721 of the domain to register the apparatus 730 reproducing optical Media Domain (step S122). Then, the domain manager 721 sends a message confirmation unit 730 playback optical media, after the registration of the device 730 in the optical media playback domain in response to the request (step S124). 721 Domain Manager on the side of the service provider may restrict the range of use of the content (for example, moving or copying content), using the information provided.
Then, the client device 740 that should receive content stored on optical media 800, registered in the domain, after the authentication controller 721 requesting domain registration client device 740 within the domain (operation S130). For example, the user can register a client device 740, which is to receive content from the device 730 playback optical media recorded in the domain, and use the received content in the domain. At this time, when the client device 740 that should receive the content in the domain is already registered, the procedure (step S130) may be omitted.
When the playback apparatus 740 optical media content to be transmitted, and the client device 740 that should receive content, registered in the domain content can be shared between the registered devices (step S140).
14 illustrates an example procedure in which content is shared between devices which are registered in the domain.
As shown in Figure 14, the encrypted content, a disk volume ID, content ID, and the like, may be directly transmitted from the optical storage drive 732 reproducing apparatus 730 optical media to client device 740 (operation S142). Alternatively, content, a disk volume ID, a content ID can be transmitted from the actuator 732 in the optical media playback device 733 memory device 730, the optical media playback (step S144). Contents, a disk volume ID, content ID, and the like that are stored in the storage unit 733 playback apparatus 730, the optical media may be re-transmitted to the client device 740. Information transmitted by the client device 740 may be stored in the memory 741 of the client device 740.
Then, the client device 740 converts the content stored in the storage unit 741, the content in a format to reproduce the client device 740, and displays the converted content based on rights which are permitted in the license. Detailed procedures for architecture and this sequence of operations described in detail in the above embodiment. For example, the information needed to use the content, such as the value of the decryption key, usage rights, and the like, can be delivered through an interactive interface memory 720 of the service provider or the direct access mode can be entered by the user. Optionally, the information may be used by receiving the information stored on the optical medium.
In the above embodiment, although the example of transmission of content from the reproduction apparatus of optical media, in which the inserted optical medium to another client device in the domain, the content of optical media inserted in the reproducing apparatus of the optical carriers can be transferred to the system software included in optical media playback device, and used on the basis of the runtime. In this case, the transfer of a license and a content transformation can be performed according to the above procedures (in the same physical device). That is, the device which is mentioned in the present invention is not limited to physical devices. The apparatus may include a logic device (e.g., system software).
Although the invention has been particularly shown and described with reference to exemplary embodiments, those skilled in the art it will be understood that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention that defined by the appended claims.
