Technical field [0002] To date, tables have been known for computer monitors that lift the monitor up from the desk. The monitor is then placed on a small disc. The plate is mounted on a rotating arm, which in turn is located on a clamping element gripping around the edge of the desk.
[0003] An example of such a table known in the art is shown in GB431311.
[0004] In known solutions, the table top is attached to a rotary connector or arm by means of a small bracket, which is in turn attached to the desk using screws, rivets or the like. This fixing point is a mechanical weak point, it takes up a lot of space and therefore does not allow flat mounting of the plate, and at the same time is not very satisfactory from an aesthetic point of view.
[0005] Thus, there is a need for an improved fastening device that offers greater durability and stability of use while providing a more favorable visual effect than existing solutions.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0006] The object of the present invention is to provide such a fastening device, a profile for embedding in a table top, as well as a table top using this type of fastening device. The scope of the invention results from the following claims.
[0007] According to a first aspect, the invention provides a fastening device for a table top, comprising a profile adapted for attachment in a table top, the profile comprising a through hole, a shaft being directed through the hole being used, the shaft being terminated on one side sleeve and fastening elements on the other side.
[0008] According to a second aspect, the invention provides a profile for attaching a table top, comprising a flat base with a curved or double-curved top surface and a through passage having a round hole with a series of longitudinal grooves.
[0009] According to a third aspect, the invention provides a table top with a fixing device according to the first aspect of the invention.
Brief description of the drawings [0010] In the following, the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a computer table;
Figure 2 schematically shows a table top according to the invention (a) in a top view, (b) in a schematic front view, (c) in a cross-sectional view and (d) a detail of the cross-sectional view (c);
Figure 3 shows the individual elements constituting an integral part of the attachment device (a) in an exploded perspective view, (b) in a longitudinal side view, (c) in a top view and (d) in a cross-sectional view.
Detailed description [0011] A computer table of the type described herein comprises a disc that will support a computer, in particular a portable computer, often referred to as a laptop. The computer table includes an arm supporting the table top itself, which in turn is attached to a furniture article. It is necessary to be able to rotate the arm outside and inward of the user's workspace, thus ensuring that the table can simply be placed in the correct working position and moved away when not in use.
[0012] Fig. 1 shows a computer table according to the invention comprising a table top 1. The table top is attached to the rotary connector 2, which is in turn attached to the upper arm 3. The upper arm is attached to the rotary telescopic arm or column 4, which is attached to the lower arm 5 and clamping element 6. A clamping fastening element is judged to be able to grip around the armrest or other suitable chair element, e.g. a tiltable backrest.
[0013] The table top 1 comprises a through profile 7 (Fig. 2) installed in the table top. The profile is preferably made of a metal, such as aluminum, or alternatively a synthetic material, such as a fiber reinforced plastic composite. The profile can be installed on a table top by sinking it or the plate can consist of several layers that are laminated around the profile. In this way, the profile is used for both tops made of plastic, laminated plastic and wood laminate. [0014] In cross-section, the profile has a flat base 8 with a curved or double-curved upper surface 9. In addition, the profile has a through passage. The channel is made in the form of a round hole 10 having an elongated groove 11, 12 on each side. More or less longitudinal grooves can be used as required. On each side of this channel there are two side channels 13, 14, which allow the removal of excess material.
[0015] Fig. 3 shows the system for fixing the table to the rotary switch 2. The system includes a shaft 15 pressed into the hole 10.
The shaft has a threaded part 17 at one end to be screwed into the sleeve 18. The sleeve 18 has two locking projections 19, 20 used to connect to the grooves 11, 12 of the profile 7. Thus the table will be locked on the sleeve 18 and will rotate it in switch 2, the shaft will not be exposed at any torque. At the other end, the shaft 15 is locked by means of suitable fasteners. In the embodiment shown, it is a threaded hole 16 in which a screw can be inserted. Of course, the shaft can be attached in various ways.
[0016] This arrangement is advantageous, allowing easy assembly and disassembly of the table top, for example, if it is desired to mount a computer table on the opposite side of the chair. As the worktop is held firmly by only one screw, it can easily be removed and screwed onto the shaft from the opposite side.
