Reversible backpack

[0001] The present invention relates to a double-sided backpack and a double-sided backpack body.

The present invention relates in particular to a two-sided backpack having two shoulder straps.

Related Art [0002] In the current state of the art, two-sided backpacks having two or four shoulder straps are known.

A double-sided backpack with two shoulder straps, such as that described in US Patent 5,361,951 is known in particular.

This backpack contains a compartment for storing and carrying personal belongings, a back wall and a pair of shoulder straps attached to the back wall with their upper and lower ends.

The known backpack has a lower or hip area and a first pair of hooking elements corresponding to the lower ends of the shoulder straps located on the outside of the chamber and a second pair of hooking elements corresponding to the lower ends of the shoulder straps located on the inside of the chamber. The bottom wall of the known backpack also has a pair of holes located in the upper area near the upper ends of the shoulder straps.

Double-sided backpack is obtained by disconnecting the lower ends of the shoulder straps from the first pair of hooking elements, placing the shoulder straps through two holes and connecting the lower ends of the shoulder straps to the second pair of hooking elements.

[0003] A known technical problem is the general technical problem of requiring the presence of openings in the backpack or bag compartment, especially in the upper part thereof.

These holes allow moisture, rain, snow and other undesirable substances to enter the chamber, which is associated with the destruction of its contents.

In addition, these openings easily create incentives for potential thieves who intend to gain possession of the contents of the chamber.

[0004] An additional problem associated with the known backpack is that the back wall, which is part of a double-sided chamber and is therefore manipulated to transform the first basic configuration of the backpack into an inverted configuration, may prove to be unreliable over time.

[0005] The Applicant has finally observed that in the field of double-sided backpacks with two shoulder straps, the problem of good protection of the contents of the chamber or bag against external substances and thieves remains unsolved.

[0006] Another known backpack having shoulder straps that can be interlaced, removed and replaced is described in US 2004/0065708 A1.

Summary of the Invention [0007] The present invention relates to a two-sided backpack that provides a solution to the above-mentioned problems in the prior art.

[0008] The object is a double-sided backpack according to claim 1.

[0009] The present invention also relates to a double-sided backpack body according to claim 7. The attached claims form an integral part of the technical knowledge regarding the novelty of the invention.

Detailed Description of Preferred Embodiments [0011] Referring to Fig. 1, a double-sided backpack 10 (backpack) according to a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a body 12 having first and second connecting elements or connecting elements 15a and 15b (Fig. 2) , a pair of shoulder straps 43 (fig. 1, fig. 2) and the rear portion 14 configured to be alternatively connected to the first or second connecting elements 15a or 15b during use.

[0012] The backpack body 12 according to the preferred embodiment has double-sided walls 21, 22, 23 and is designed to take the first form or the preferred form, in which the first side of said walls is visible in the body, and the second form or inverted configuration, in which the other side or the opposite side of said walls is visible in the body.

[0013] In both forms, the double-sided body 12 may take the form of a bag intended to contain the transferred content, with the first embodiment access to the bag, which is indicated by reference number 20, is provided, for example, by access zipper 30 (zipper) of a known type designed to provide a large enough opening to convert the backpack 10 from the first configuration to the second configuration.

In a preferred embodiment, the first wall 21 is designed to form the back wall of the bag, the second wall 22 is designed to form the front wall of the bag, and the third wall 23 has opposite edges connected to the first and second walls (21 and 22, respectively) using a known stapling technique and is designed to connect the first wall 21 (back wall) to the second wall 22 (front wall) and shape the bag of the backpack 10.

In additional embodiments, the front wall 22 can be configured to become in turn the front compartment 25 of the backpack 10, which can be accessed through the first zipper 35a or through the second zipper 35b, depending on the configuration of the body (12), on example of basic configuration or reverse configuration.

Similarly, the sidewall can also be configured to form side chambers.

[0014] The walls are preferably made of known materials that have different colors or patterns on opposite sides of the walls.

[0015] The rear wall 21 of the body 12 has on the first side or on the outer side 21a the first connecting elements 15a to the rear part, and on the inner side 21b, preferably at a location corresponding to the position of the first connecting elements, the second connecting elements 15b to the rear part, first and second connecting elements, 15a and 15b, respectively, they are preferably made using a pair of zippers located at a predetermined distance from each other. The rear wall 21 also includes a third pair of hooking elements 33a placed, for example in the region of the rear wall 21 connecting to the side wall 23 corresponding to the outer side 21a and the bottom area of ​​the backpack 10, and a fourth pair of hooking elements 33b preferably positioned in a location corresponding to the third pair of outer hooking elements 33a, but inside the body 12.

Said hook elements 31a, 31b, 33a and 33b are preferably made in the form of corresponding pairs of clamps, rings, carabiners and the like.

[0016] In a preferred embodiment, the rear portion 14 (Fig. 3) has a rear body 41 connected to a pair of shoulder straps 43.

The rear body 41 preferably has, for example, two reflective outer side edges 45, an upper edge or shoulder edge 47 and a lower edge or hip edge 48.

The side edges 45 of the rear body 41 respectively include connecting elements or connecting means 451 and 452 configured to be alternatively connected to the first or second connecting elements (first or second pair of zippers) 15a or 15b (Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3) body 12 of backpack 10, depending on its configuration.

[0017] In a preferred embodiment, the pair of shoulder straps 43 are connected, for example using seams of the known type, to the body of the rear portion 41 via the shoulder edge 47, and they are designed to form a backpack carrying handle 49. A pair of shoulder straps comprises a first pair of straps 51 and a first pair of hooking elements or hooking means 61, for example in the form of a known type of buckle that are connected to the first end of a pair of hip straps 43. The first pair of hooking elements (pair of staples) 61 is designed to be alternatively connected to the first or second pair of hooking elements 31a or 31b of the backpack body 10, depending on its configuration.

The second pair of hooking elements 63 (a pair of carabiners) are designed to be alternatively connected to a third or fourth pair of hooking elements 33a or 33b of the backpack body 10, depending on its configuration.

[0019] The operation of the double-sided backpack (10) is described below.

Referring, for example, to the first configuration shown in Fig. 1, if you need to change or flip over to the other side of the backpack 10, you can, for example, follow these steps:

- disconnect the pair of carabiners 63 from the third pair of hooking elements 33a, if they are connected to them;

- disconnect the pair of buckles 61 from the first pair of hooking elements 31a of the backpack body 12, if they are connected to them;

- detach the rear portion 14, and in particular the rear body 41, from the backpack body 12 by disconnecting zippers 451 and 452 respectively from the first pair of zippers 15a of the rear wall 21;

- gain access to the chamber 20 using the zipper 30;

- reverse the body 12 of the backpack 10 through the opening in the chamber 20;

- connect the rear portion 14 to the backpack body 12 by connecting the zippers 451 and 452 to the second pair of zippers 15b of the rear wall 21;

- finally connect a pair of clamps 61 to a second pair of hooking elements 31b;

- finally connect a pair of 63 rifles to the fourth pair of hooking elements 33b;

[0020] After performing these steps, the backpack 10 is configured according to an inverted configuration. Of course, the assembly of detachment and unhooking steps or hooking and connecting steps may be performed in a different order without affecting the final result.

[0021] The backpack of the invention has been described with reference to components such as zippers, buckles, snap hooks, straps and the like.

Those skilled in the art will easily realize that these components may be replaced by other components having equivalent functions, without departing from the described and claimed subject matter.

For example, zippers can usually be replaced with Velcro, buckles can be replaced with carabiners, hooks or rings, carabiners can be replaced with buckles or hooks and so on.

[0022] The body 12 of the backpack 10 is described as being made of three types of walls, rear wall, side wall and front wall.

Those skilled in the art will certainly understand that in additional embodiments, a different number of walls may be used, and walls may be of a different type.

For example, the sidewall may include a bottom wall, and two sidewalls may be omitted, which causes the front wall to be connected to the rear wall.

In additional embodiments, there can be only one wall that is appropriately shaped and configured to form a backpack compartment.

[0023] Those skilled in the art are certainly aware that in additional embodiments, the shoulder straps can be configured such that the presence of the rear body is not required, and consequently the presence of the rear part. Said embodiment is shown as an example in Fig. 4, where the rear wall 21 can be seen to include, on both sides and on the top of the rear wall, hooking elements or means 31c, such as a horizontal zipper, and a pair of shoulder straps 43 includes, at one end, a hooking element 61a, such as a horizontal zipper or a pair of zippers designed to be combined with the hooking means 31c of the rear wall.

In this embodiment, another variation has also been designed in which, due to the adequate strength required when lifting the backpack, the pair of shoulder straps 43 include buckles 61 at one end, and the back wall 21 of the backpack 10 includes, as already described above, two pairs of hooking means 31a and 31b, respectively, which operate as described above.

Those skilled in the art will easily realize that in the second embodiment described, the advantages associated with the backpack's double-sidedness are still retained, despite the absence of the back portion or corresponding connecting elements connected to the back wall of the backpack.

The use of the backpack described is simple, it has no openings allowing easy access to the backpack's compartment, and in at least one embodiment, it is particularly durable, and at the same time has a back part that can be detached from the backpack's body.

[0024] Furthermore, according to the first embodiment, the back part may not be a double-sided part and may always be facing the same side towards the back wall 21 of the backpack 10. This solution allows optimizing the design of the back part, regardless of the quality and construction of the materials used backpack body.

[0025] The same considerations also apply to the second embodiment in which there is no rear part, only shoulder straps.
