The present invention relates to a data transmission and reception system for circuit-switched networks and packet-switched networks.
The disclosures to the topic "Home networking" or "Connected home" or "Telephony and Control" discuss the question of connecting private area devices such as TV, personal computer to the network. and other devices of everyday life. A telephone, fixed line telephone or cordless telephone serves in this context primarily as a means of access to the wired network (call networks). Access to a network with packet transmission (data networks), for example access to the Internet, is irrelevant and can take place in different ways.
The connection between the packet and wired network according to Fig. 1 takes place by known means such as devices, e.g. a personal computer, which is connected for transmission to a packet network, e.g. the Internet via Ethernet, a digital subscriber line (DSL) - or cable connections, and for example, a wireless base station sets up a connection by terminating a network's voice data transmission to a wired network (control). or configuring the device with a moving part (configuration). Thereby, parts of the wireless base station or the functions of the mobile telephony are transferred to the personal computer. Of course, control and configuration can take place in the reverse order.
However, it is decisive that no voice data is processed in the packet network or in the data network, but there is always a logical connection between the voice end device, the wireless mobile part and the switch which constitutes the wireless base station. Thus, there is no logical connection between the wireline telephone network and the packet data network (e.g. the Internet) with respect to the voice data. The use of packet data network voice services (such as internet telephony, voice messaging) currently does not run through a wireless mobile unit registered with a wireless base station.
DE 196 45 368 A1 discloses a data output / data input device (first embodiment) which, according to FIG. 3 with the associated description, consists of or is formed by an end device (1, 2) and one connected to the end device. a router (7) that is connected to both a circuit-switched network (POTS, ISDN) as well as a packet-switched network (INTERNET). According to the second embodiment, in FIG. 7 depicted in printing, the known data outlet / source also comprises a switch node (VS).
The router (7) in the figure 3 shown receives through the data input (74) input data, among others from the end device (1, 2) and includes below, in particular * an IP router (72) in the form of an IP switch for copying IP packets, with a data compression device (721), an encoder (722) and a wired connection (76) to other routers or hosts on the Internet, * Line-Switching device (73), which includes the function of a switching node or telecommunications device, with a digital switch field (731) and a wire connection (75) to the telephone network and * a control device (71), connected downstream of the data input (74), configured as a logical switch, with an intermediate register (712) and a packet / de-packet device ( 711), wherein the control device (71) is connected to both the IP router (72) and the line-switching device (73), and wherein the input / incoming data is sent via the IP router to the packet-switched network or via a device for Line-Switching to the circuit-switched network, i.e. data routing takes place, where the data is routed according to the set type of switching (packet switching or circuit switching).
The control device (71) part of the functionality of the router (7) is integrated in the end device (1, 2) and thus the data routing takes place in the end device.
The main task of the invention is to develop a feed-in / input system for circuit-switched networks and packet-switched networks, which possibly eliminates the logical separation between applications based on a wired communication network, e.g. PSTN, ISDN, and applications. based on a packet network, such as the Internet.

The principle of the invention consists in the fact that a data transmission device for transmitting and receiving data, in particular voice and / or packet data, in a wired network or from a wired network which is assigned or can be assigned to a universal device called a data processing device. used for automatic data processing and for sending data to the packet network or receiving data from the packet network, and to which an end device for transmitting and receiving data, in particular voice and / or packet data, is assigned or assigned to a wired network or from a wired network for providing controllable switch means which are capable of being controlled such that the end device which in the first mode of operation, it is connected to a wired network via a data transmission device, it can be switched, from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation, in which the end device is connected via the data transmission device and the data processing device to the packet network, and vice versa, that is, an operating mode switchover occurs.
The invention consists in extending a data transmission device, e.g. in the form of a wireless base station, with a switching option, e.g.
In such a way that the voice data streams can be transferred to a data processing device, which is formed e.g. as a personal computer, notebook computer or server for home and / or workplace use, providing possible new applications. With the use of a data transmission device or a wireless base station in this way, it is possible to transmit the voice and / or signaling data streams to a data processing device connected to the Internet, for example a personal computer. Thanks to this, it is possible to use voice applications based on the Internet or a personal computer (such as Internet telephony, "Voice Messaging" - voice messaging, etc.) by data transmission end devices launched in the data transmission device.
That is, data transmission terminal devices, e.g. 31, or a telephone, may be incorporated into a logical connection for voice data to a packet network such as the Internet or a local data network "Home Networking" situation.
This primarily improves the user experience. Applications that are currently possible with a personal computer headset (Headset) are also possible according to the present invention with a wireless mobile unit.
Due to the switching capability of the present invention in the wireless base station, it is possible for the user to navigate depending on the choice between the two operating modes of the wireless mobile unit.
In the first mode of operation, the wireless mobile unit works like a normal telephone on a wired network.
In the second mode of operation, the voice data and the protocol data are fed to a personal computer or data network, for example. There is no wired network connection. Additionally, user setting information may be communicated from the wireless mobile unit to the personal computer and the indicator information from the personal computer may be transmitted to the wireless mobile unit. In addition, the voice channels are transparent, connected via a so-called tunnel connection to the personal computer.
This allows the wireless mobile unit connected to the wireless base station to use an application running on the personal computer, for example a headset. It is possible to run additional applications by interacting with the user via the display and control data, thereby further increasing the convenience of operation. Thus, for example, it is possible to use, for example, "Voice over Internet Protocol" telephony (VoIP telephony) with a conventional cordless telephone (Providing telephony functionality to all applications on the network, for example a personal computer in the home network). In addition, it is possible to perform, for example, direct mode games in the network, voice control in the home network, and remotely control devices in the home network using a conventional cordless telephone.
Using the present invention, it is also possible, for example, to integrate conventional cordless telephones in a "Connected Home" scenario. In this case, the PC serves as the "VoIP gateway" in "VoIP telephony". Integration into game consoles such as the X-Box is also possible.
In addition, the invention makes it possible to control the data processing device application by the end device on the basis of voice control and voice recognition mechanisms (Voice Control and Voice Recognition), using the end device as a Remote Control Unit, which provides access to the Messenger-Service. from Microsoft through the end device, to the Intemet-Radio service, for online chat via a wireless mobile part or telephone, which enables the conversion of text messages into voice messages ("Text to Speech") so that it is possible, for example, to read an e-mail message and / or present the message on the display of the transmission end device data.
The invention is not, however, only intended to be used in a home area as explained above, when the data transmission device is designed as a wireless base station, the terminal device is designed as a wireless mobile unit and the data processing device is designed as a personal computer or server, but outside. It is suitable for use in the public area when the data transmission device is provided
The device is designed as a cellular radiocommunication infrastructure and consists of a base station and a switching center, and the end device is designed as a cellular telephone (handset), the data processing device is designed as a server.
The invention will be presented in more detail in the attached drawings, in which:

Figure 2 shows a first DSQ1 device for a wired LVN network, preferably configured as a "Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)" or an "Integrated Services Digital Network" (ISDN), and preferably as an LVN network. packet PVN consisting of a DEG terminal device, DUG data transmission devices and DVG data processing devices as universally applicable devices for automatic data processing as well as for transmitting and receiving data to a network with packet switching or from a network with packet switching.
The terminal DEG comprises a first central control unit ZSE1, a control means STM and a first interface EUSS1 between the terminal and the transmission device. The first central control unit ZSE1 serves to control the execution of the functions of the terminal DEG and is connected to both the control means STM and to the first interface EUSS1 between the terminal and the transmission device. Via the first EUSS1 interface between the end device and the transmission device, the end device DEG is connected to the data transmission device DUG, which comprises a second EUSS2 interface between the end device and the transmission device for this connection. Either a first wired connection LV1 or a first connection in the free space FRV1 is provided as a connection between the terminal DEG and the data transmission DUG.
The data transmission device DUG comprises, in addition to the second EUSS2 interface between the end device and the transmission device, another ZSE2 central control unit, a first USM1 switching means and a first VUSS1 interface between the processing device and the transmission device, a second ZSE2 central control unit, which is used to control the execution of the function in the data transmission device DUG and includes a first switching control means USSM1, coupled to the second EUSS2 interface between the terminal equipment and the transmission device, the first NUSS1 interface between the network and the transmission device, and the first VUSS1 interface between the equipment and the transmission device. The first switching control means USSM1 of the second central control unit ZSE2 forms a functional unit with the first switching means USM1, so that the first switching control means USSM1 controls the first switching means USM1 as shown in Fig. 2 as a connection between the two means. The data transmission device DUG is connected to the LVN wired network and furthermore, via the first VUSS1 interface between the processing device and the transmission device, to a data processing DVG device, which for this connection is provided with a second VUSS2 interface between the processing device and the transmission device. A second cable connection LV2 or a second free space connection FRV2 is again used as a connection between the data transmission device DUG and the data processing device DVG.
The DVG data processing device comprises, in addition to the second yUSS2 interface between the processing device and the transmission device, a third central control unit.
PL 213 358 B1
ZSE3 and the first interface between the network and the NVSS1 processing device. The third central control unit ZSE3, which is used to control the execution of functions in the DVG data processing apparatus, and in addition to the first switching control means USSM1 of the second central control unit ZSE2, comprises an optionally enabled data transmission DUG, indicated by the dashed line in Fig. 2, the second switching control means USSM2, and is connected to the second VUSS2 interface between the processing device and the transmission device and the first interface NVSS1 interface, between the network and the processing device. Via the first NVSS1 interface between the network and the processing device, the DVG data processing device is connected to the PVN packet network.
In the following, by way of an explanation of the structure of the first data output / input DSQ1 device, the operation of the data output / data input DSQ1 device is explained from the point of view of eliminating the logical division between the first applications that operate on an LVN wired network and the second applications that operate on the basis of an LVN. PVN packet network.
From the point of view of the DEG end device, which, for example, has hitherto been connected via the first LV1 wired connection or the first free space connection FRV1, and the data DUGE device, to the LVN wired network (cf. wireless base station as data transmission device, in fig. 1), that is, the user of the DEG terminal can use the services of the LVN wired network on the one hand and the services of the PVN packet network on the other hand, both as the recipient and the sender. In other words, the user must have at his disposal a transmission path from the DEG terminal, alternatively, depending on the choice, to the LVN wired network and to the PVN packet network. Thus, the end device DEG, for example in the first operating mode, is connected via the data transmission DUG to the LVN wired network, and in the second operating mode via the data transmission DUG and the data processing DVG device is connected to the PVN packet network.
On the basis of the scenario given (data transmission terminal θ circuit-switched network), the already existing connection between the data transmission terminal DEG and the data transmission equipment DUG is for this purpose equipped with a first switching means USM1 in the data transmission device DUG and a first switching control means USSM1 , optionally, the DVG data processing device is provided with a second switching control means USSM2 and a STM control means in the DEG terminal device. The means indicated, apart from the STM control means in the DEG terminal, which are predominantly designed as a keyboard, are predominantly designed as program modules (software). Instead of a keypad, it is also possible to use voice control.
For each conceivable situation, for example, yet another positioning of these measures is possible. This is the case (end device packet network) where the end device is connected, for example, via wired or free space and via a data processing device to the packet network. In this case, the switching means and the switching control means are preferably located in the data processing device, while possibly additional switching control means are included in the data transmission device.
Alternatively, a configuration is conceivable in which the data transmission device is connected to a packet network and the data processing device is connected to a wired network.
In the case of the situation shown in Fig. 2 (terminal equipment θ wired network), in which the first switching means USM1 is present in the data transmission equipment DUG, depending on whether there is:
(i) only the first switching control means USSM1 in the data transmission device DUG, (ii) both the first switching control means USSM1 in the data transmission device DUG and the second USSM2 switching control means in the DVG data processing device, both USSM1 controlling switching, USSM2 controls the first switching means USM1 in the data transmission device DUG, (iii) both the first switching control means USSM1 in the data transmission device DUG, and the second switching control means USSM2 in the DVG data processing device, however, unlike (ii) only the first switching control means USSM1 in the data transmission device DUG controls the first switching means USM1.
There are three variants that can be implemented in the first data output / data entry DSQ1 device based on a required change of mode situation.
Implementation variant (i):
For the description of this embodiment, let us assume that the terminal DEG operates in a first operating mode, for example, in which the terminal DEG is connected to the LVN wired network via the data transmission DUG. It goes without saying that another case is also possible where the DEG terminal is operating in the second mode of operation.
The user of the end device DEG could now switch to the second operating mode. Said operating mode switching is made by the user of the DEG terminal by activating the control means STM. As a result, the first central control unit ZSE1 is actuated, and this, via the first interface EUSS1 between the terminal and the transmission device, transmits a first signal S1 for signaling the change of the operating mode of the terminal DEG via the first wire connection LV1 or the first free space connection FRV1 to the second EUSS2 interface between the end device and the transmission device, in the data transmission DUG device, which the first signal S1, transmitted from the terminal equipment DEG, forwards on to the first switching control means USSM1.
The first switching control means USSM1 then produces a second signal S2, which they transmit to the DVG data processing device and from there in particular to the third central control unit ZSE3, and via it inform the data processing device DVG that the DEG end device could via the DVG processing device. data to establish a connection to the PVN packet network. After informing the data processing DVG, the first switching control means USSM1 generates the third signal S3 and transmits it to the first switching means USM1. By transmitting the third signal S3, the first switching means USM1 has indicated that the transmission path to the wired network used by the DEG end device up to now is released, and instead the DVG data processing device is prepared to connect to the PVN packet network. In fig. 2 this process is denoted in the first USM1 commutation means with a switch symbol. The end device DEG is thus, via the second LV2 wire connection or the second free space connection FRV2 and the data processing DVG device, connected to the PVN packet network. This second mode of operation now remains on or established until a user similarly initiates a change from the second mode of operation to the first mode of operation.
In order to inform the end user of the data transmission device in which operating mode the terminal device is located, it is advantageous if the respective operating mode is shown on the display (see FIG. 4). Moreover, it is possible in the case of terminal devices which are used primarily for voice transmission (telephony) (see fig. 4) and by means of which the connection of the "Voice over IP" type (voice in the Internet protocol) is not yet possible, applying a certain prioritization of the connection to the wired network. This can be achieved, for example, by a time-controlled default setting. This means that when a switch is made from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation as described and the terminal device is not re-occupied within a predetermined time after the end of the session in the second mode of operation, it is automatically reset to the state of operation. initial (default state).
Implementation variant (ii):
When describing this embodiment variant, let us again assume that the terminal DEG is in a first mode of operation, for example, in which the terminal DEG is connected to the LVN wired network via the data transmission DUG. It goes without saying that another case is also possible where the DEG terminal is operating in the second mode of operation.
The user of the end device DEG could now switch to the second operating mode. Each switching of the operating mode is made by the user of the terminal equipment DEG such that he activates the control means STM. For each switching, for example, it is always possible to have one and the same button, i.e. a softkey, or it is possible to switch between modes by means of different buttons. In the case of voice control, however, it is an unequivocal matter, because the set mode is triggered by voice.
Furthermore, when controlled by, through, and through the first EUSS1 interface between the terminal and the transmission device, the first central control unit ZSE1 is
A fourth signal S4 for signaling the change of operating mode from the terminal DEG via the first wireline connection LV1 or the first free space connection FRV1 to the second EUSS2 interface between the terminal equipment and the transmission device, at the data transmission device DUG, is transmitted, via which the signal S4 transmitted by the terminal device DEG is passed on to the first switching control means USSM1 in the event of a switch to the second operating mode (the current operating mode is therefore the first operating mode), and in the event of switching to the first operating mode (when the current operating mode is therefore is the second operating mode) via the first VOSS1 interface between the processing device and the transmission device, the second wired connection LV2 or the second free space connection FRV2 as well as the second yUSS2 interface between the processing device and the transmission device in said order is passed to the data processing DVG device.
When receiving the signal S4, each of the first or second switching control means USSM1, USSM2 generates a fifth signal S5 in response thereto, by means of which the remainder of the switching control means USSM2, USSM1, is informed about each change of the operating mode. The fifth signal S5 is transmitted over the first yUSSI interface between the processing device and the transmission device, the second LV2 wire connection. or a second free space connection FRV2, as well as a second interface yUSS2 between the processing device and the transmission device, or in the opposite direction to the given second switching control means USSM2, USSM1. Then the switching means USSM2, the switching control USSM1 is informed about the change of the operating mode, hence the DVG data processing device or the data transmission device DUG, the switching control means USSM1, USSM2 receiving the fourth signal S4 generate a sixth signal S6 and transmit it to the first USM1 commutation means. In the case of a transition to the second mode of operation, the sixth signal is produced by the first commutation control means USSM1, while in the case of a transition to the first mode of operation, the sixth signal is produced by the second commutation control means USSM2. By transmitting the sixth signal S6, the first switching means USM1 is notified, which releases the path previously used by the DEG terminal to the LVN wired network or to the PVN packet network, and instead prepares a new transmission path via the DVG data processing device to the PVN packet network, or via DUG device for data transmission to the LVN wired network. In fig. 2 this process is marked in the first switching means USM1 again with a switch symbol. The end device DEG is thus connected to the PVN packet network via the second LV2 wired connection or the second free space connection FRV2 and the data processing DVG, or via the data transmission DUG connected to the LVN wired network. The transmission path belonging to the second operating mode, or to the first operating mode, now remains connected or established until the user changes the operating mode in the same way, this time in the form of a change from the second operating mode to the first operating mode, either from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation.
In order to further inform the user about which operating mode the terminal device is in, the respective activated operating mode is additionally displayed, preferably on the display of the terminal device DEG (see FIG. 4). In addition, it is also possible in the case of data transmission devices used mainly for voice transmission (telephony) (see fig. 4), through which a "Voice over IP" connection is not yet possible, applying prioritization to the wired network connection before connecting to the packet network. This can be achieved, for example, by a time-controlled default setting. That is, if a transition is made from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation, or from the second mode of operation to the first mode of operation, as implied in the description, and the terminal equipment after the session is ended in the second mode of operation or in the first mode of operation in within the set time, it is not restored to the previous state, an automatic process of returning to the original state (default state) follows.
Implementation variant (iii):
For the description of this embodiment variant, it is again assumed that the DEG terminal is operating in the first operating mode, for example, so that the DEG terminal is connected to the LVN wired network via the data transmission DUG. Of course, the case where the DEG terminal is operating in the second operating mode is also possible.
PL 213 358 B1
The user of the terminal equipment DEG could now switch to the second mode of operation, or the first mode of operation. Each change of the operating mode is introduced by the user of the terminal equipment DEG such that it activates the control means STM. For each change, this may be for example always using the same button, or actuating a soft button, or it may use a different button for each transition. On the other hand, in the case of voice control, it is clear that the switching is always made to the selected operating mode.
Thereafter, control is performed again by the first central control unit ZSE1. via it and the first interface EUSS1 between the end device and the transmission device, sends a signal S4 for signaling the change of operating mode from the end device DEG over the first wired connection LV1 to the second interface between the end device and the transmission device, EUSSZ in the data transmission device DUG, by means of which the fourth signal S4 transmitted from the terminal device DEG in the case of switching to the second operating mode (the current operating mode is therefore the first operating mode) is again transferred via the first VUSS1 interface between the processing device and the transmission device, the second LV2 wire connection, or the second connection in the free space FRV2 as well as the second yUSS2 interface between the processing device and the transmission device, in this order, again to the second switching control means USSM2 in the DVG data processing device.
The first switching control means USSM1 which has received the fourth signal S4 then produces a seventh signal S7 by which the second switching control means USSM2 is notified of the switching. The seventh signal S7 is transferred via the first interface yUSS1 between the processing device and the transmission device, the second wire connection LV2 or the second free space connection FRV2 as well as the second interface yUSS2 between the processing device and the transmission device to the second switch control means, USSM2. After informing the second switching control means USSM2, and thus the data processing device DVG, the second switching control means USSM2 which received the seventh signal S7 produces the eighth signal S8 and transmits it via the second interface yUSS2 between the processing device and the transmission device, the second wire connection LV2 or second connection in free space FRV2, as well as a first interface VIJSS1 between the processing device and the transmission device, in the order mentioned, to the first switching control means, USSM1. With this eighth signal, the second switching control means USSM2 signals to the first switching control means USSM1 that it should signal the first switching means USM1 and then command a change of the second operating mode to the first operating mode.
The first switching control means USSM1 on the basis of the ninth signal S9 and forwards it to the first switching means USM1. With this forwarding of the ninth signal S9, the first switching means USM1 is notified, which releases the hitherto used transmission path from the DEG terminal to the LVN wired network or PVN packet network, instead it prepares a new transmission path by DVG data processing devices to the PVN packet network DUG devices for data transmission of the LVN wired network. In fig. 2 this process in the first switching means USM1 is again denoted by a switch symbol. The end device DEG is thus connected to the packet switched PVN network or via the data transmission DUG device to the circuit switched LVN network via the second wireline connection LV2 or the second free space connection FRV2 and the data processing DVG device. This transmission path, either belonging to the second mode of operation or to the first mode of operation, remains connected or arranged in the same way until the user changes the mode of operation again, this time changing from the second mode of operation to the first mode of operation or from the first mode of operation to the second. operating mode.
In order to additionally inform the user which operating mode the terminal device is in, it is in turn provided that the respective activated operating mode is indicated on the display of the terminal device DEG (cf. FIG. 4). In addition, it is also possible that, in the case of data transmission end devices, which are predominantly used for voice transmission (telephony) (see Fig. 4) and with which it is not yet possible to make a "Voice over IP" connection (conversation in the Internet protocol ), a certain prioritization of the connection to the wired network is applied in relation to the packet network. This can be achieved, for example, by a time-controlled default setting. That is, when switching from the first mode is made
After the end of the session in the second mode of operation or in the first mode of operation, the terminal device is not re-established within a predetermined period of time, it automatically takes place after the end of the session in the second mode of operation or in the first mode of operation. setting it back to its initial state (default state).
In the illustrated embodiments (i), (ii) and (iii), it is advantageous if the operating mode change signaled by the signals S2, S5, S7, S8 is each time confirmed by the switching means receiving these signals by the tenth signal S10, before the operating mode change is changed. by the first commutation means USM1.
Figure 3 shows a second data feed / input DSQ2 device for a wired LVN network configured preferably as a "Public Switched Telephone Network" (PSTN) or "Integrated Services Digital Network" (ISDN). Network), and preferably a PVN packet network shaped as an Internet network consisting of a DEG terminal and a DVϋG device - referred to as a data processing / transmission device - universally applicable for automatic data processing and for the transmission and reception of data both to a packet switched network or from a network packet-switched as well as circuit-switched networks or circuit-switched networks. In the data processing / transmission device DVUG, the data processing device DVG shown in FIG. 2 is connected to the data transmission device DUG shown in FIG. 2 to form a structural and functional unit.
The DEG end device comprises a first central control unit ZSE1, a control means STM and a first interface EUSS1 between the end device and the transmission device. This first central control unit ZSE1 is used to control the execution of functions in the terminal DEG, and is connected to both the control means STM and the first interface EUSS1 between the terminal and the transmission device. Via this first EUSS1 interface between the end device and the transmission device, the end device DEG is connected to the DVUG data processing / transmission device, which for this connection is provided with a third EUSS3 interface between the end device and the transmission device. As the connection between the DEG terminal and the DVUG for data processing / transmission, either again a first wire connection LV1 or a first free space connection FRV1 is provided.
The DVUG data processing / transmission device comprises, in addition to the third interface between the end device and the transmission device EUSS3, a fourth central control unit ZSE4. a second interface between the network and the NUSS2 transmission equipment and a second interface between the network and the equipment, NGSS2. A fourth central control unit ZSE4, which is used to control the DVUG data processing / transmission device, and comprises a third commutation control means USSM3. it is connected to a third EUSS3 interface between the terminal equipment and the transmission equipment, a NUSS2 interface between the network and the transmission equipment, and a second interface between the network and the processing equipment, NVSS2. The third switching control means USSM3 of the fourth central control unit ZSE4 forms a functional unit with the second switching means USM2, such that the third switching control means USSM3 controls the first switching means USM1 as in Fig. 3 presented as the link between the two measures. The DVUG data processing / transmission device is on the one hand connected via a second interface between the network and the NUSS2 transmission equipment to the wired LVN network, and on the other hand via the second interface between the network and the processing device, NVSS2, to the PVN packet network.
In the following, on the basis of the description of the structure of the second data output / input DSQ2 device, the operating principle of this DSQ2 output / data input device is explained from the point of view of eliminating the logical division between the first applications based on the LVN wired network and the second ones. applications, based on the PVN packet network.
In the case of Figure 3, it must be assumed that the DEG terminal is in a first operating mode, for example, in which the DEG terminal is connected via the DVUG data processing / transmission device to the LVN wired network. Of course, another case is also possible where the DEG terminal is in the second operating mode.
The user of the end device DEG could now switch to the second operating mode. Said change of mode of operation may be introduced by the user of the DEG terminal such that it activates the control means of the STM. Then through the first central
A ZSE1 control unit via a first EUSS1 interface between the end device and the transmission device. the eleventh signal S11 for signaling the change of mode of operation is transmitted from the terminal device from the DEG via the first wire connection LV1 or the first connection in the free space FRV1. to the third EUSS3 interface, between the end device and the transmission device, in the data processing / transmission device DVUG. which this eleventh signal transmitted from the terminal DEG forwards on to the third switching control means, USSM3.
The third switching control means USSM3 then produces twelfth signal S12 and forwards it to the second switching means USM2. By transmitting the twelfth signal S12, the second switching means USM2 is prompted to clear the transmission path previously used by the DEG terminal to the circuit-switched LVN and instead prepare a new transmission path to the packet-switched PVN. In fig. 3 this process is indicated in the second USM2 switching means by a switch symbol. The DEG end device is thus connected to the packet switched PVN. This transmission path belonging to the second operating mode remains connected, i.e. compiled, until in a similar manner the user enters a new operating mode change, this time a transition from the second operating mode to the first operating mode.
In order to further inform the end user of the data transmission device in which operating mode the terminal device is, it is advantageous if the activated operating mode in each case is shown on the display of the data transmission device (see FIG. 4). In addition, it is possible with data transmission terminals, which are used primarily for voice transmission (telephony) (see Fig. 4) and by means of which the connection of the "Voice over IP" type (voice in the Internet protocol) is not yet possible, applying a certain prioritization of the connection to the wired network. This can be achieved, for example, by a time-controlled default setting. This means that when a switch is made from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation as described and the terminal device is not re-occupied after the end of the session in the second mode of operation within a predetermined period of time, it is automatically reset to the second operating mode. initial state (default state).
Figure 4 shows an embodiment of the first data delivery / data entry DSQ1 device of Figure 2 according to embodiment variant (i) with the SLT cordless telephone as the data transmission end device and the data transmission device which is connected to the LVN wired network as well as to the LVN wired network. a PC as a data processing device connected to the PVN packet network. In addition to the BSC screen (monitor), the personal computer also includes an EV input device, consisting of a keyboard TA and a "mouse" MA, in the system unit SYE, which consists of the devices known from Fig. 2. Thus, in the system unit SYE apart from the third central with the ZSE3 control unit. there is also a second interface, VUSS2, formed as a Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface between the processing device and the transmission device, and a first NVSS1 interface between the network and the processing device, formed as an Ethernet-DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) interface. Via the USB, USBV, LV2 connection as the second wired connection, the PC is connected to the SLT cordless telephone. The SLT cordless telephone comprises, as a data transmission device, a SLB wireless base station and, as a terminal device, a SLM wireless mobile telephone, which are interconnected via the FRV1 radio link as a first free space connection. The wireless moving part SLM, in addition to the display device AE (display), comprises a keyboard-shaped EGE input unit and EGM input means composed of a microphone and a earpiece, a first central control unit ZSE1 and a first interface between the terminal and the transmission device formed as the first interface, a first radio interface EUSS! AE indicator device, the EGE injection unit and the EGM introducing means form the STM control means shown in Fig. 2. In the SLB wireless base station there are: second central control unit ZSE2 with first control means, USSM1, first switching means USM1, formed as the second interface between the terminal and the transmission device, the second EUSS2 radio interface, formed as the first interface between the network and the transmission equipment, wire connection NUSS1 and an additional, shaped as the first NUSS1 interface between the processing device and the transmission device, the USB interface. The connection is made via the NUSS1 cable connection
Since the NUSS1 USB interface is connected to the LVN wired network and the NUSS1 USB interface is via the USB USBV connection, the LV2 is connected to the NUSS2 USB interface located in the personal computer.
If the SLB wireless base station is integrated with a personal computer as a wireless data adapter, a second data output / data entry device, DSQ2, is obtained according to Fig. 3.
