DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION [0010] As required, a detailed description of embodiments of the invention has been presented here, however, it is understood that the embodiments shown are only examples of the present invention, which can be implemented in a variety of different and alternative ways. Figures do not necessarily correspond to the actual scale, some elements may be enlarged or reduced to show details of specific components. For this reason, the specific construction and functional details set forth herein should not be construed as limiting, but only as a representative basis for the claims and / or a representative basis for the education of persons skilled in the art for the various uses of the present invention.
[0011] In Figure 1, an exemplary embodiment of a body massager is shown in accordance with the present invention and is generally designated by reference 20. The body massager 20 consists of a backrest area 22 and a seat area 24. Inner assemblies of the backrest area 22 and a seat area 24 are held together by a flexible coating 26 made of high quality vinyl. Of course, other materials, such as leather, can also be used to make coating 26. Shell 26 forms a flexing joint 28 at the bottom longitudinal end of the backrest 22 and the rearmost end of the seat area 24. The flexible shell material 26 forms a thin articulated section at the rotatable joint 28, allowing the user to adjust the angle between backrest 22 and the seat area 24.
[0012] The body massager 20 offers various massage effects. Such massage effects may include rolling effect and / or kneading massage effect
In the illustrated body 20, a massager prepared to perform these massage effects longitudinally along the length of the backrest area 22 is provided in the backrest area 22, the seat area 24 may also provide a massage effect, such as a vibration massage effect, to a user sitting in the seat area 24.
[0013] The backrest area 22 has a suitable size so that it can be placed on the back of a standard chair. Similarly, the seat area 24 has the right size to be placed on the seat of a standard chair. Of course, the user can use the massager 20 with or without using a standard chair, but the body massager 20 has the right size so that it can be placed on a standard chair, changing the standard chair into a massage chair.
[0014] The body massager 20 is portable due to its compact size and light weight, so that the user can place the body massager 20 on a standard chair for a massage while sitting on the chair. The angle adjustment between the backrest area 22 and the seat area 24 takes into account the wide range of angles used in standard chairs. Alternatively, the user may place the body massager on a flat surface to experience the massage effect in a supine position.
[0015] The width and height of the backrest area 22 corresponds to the width and height of a standard chair, and its thickness is suitable for a shielded massage assembly and avoids disturbance of comfort and support caused by the chair underneath it. Similarly, the width and depth of the seat area 24 corresponds to the width and depth of a standard chair, and its thickness is suitable for covering the massage assembly and avoids disturbance of comfort and support caused by the chair under it.
[0016] Furthermore, the backrest area 22 is provided with two straps 30 attached to the side edges of the backrest area 22, which allow the body massager 20 to be attached to a standard chair. Each of the 30 straps has a Velcro that allows 30 straps to be attached to the back of a standard chair. Of course, the use of a fastening mechanism is considered, for example belt buckle, clamp or the like.
[0017] The seat area 24 has a seat surface 32 receiving a seated user. The support area 22 has a support surface 34 receiving and supporting the user's back. The backrest assembly 22 produces a massage effect on the backrest surface 34. Also, the massage assembly of the seat area 24 can exert a massage effect on the seat surface 32.
[0018] The central area 38 of the abutment surface 34 is substantially semi-transparent, which allows the user to partially see the mass formation underneath the central area 38 of the coating 26. The central area 38 can be made of fabric. The user's ability to see the massaging formation through central area 38 allows the user to recognize the massage effects produced by massager 20. In addition, a visual effect created by the massage assembly is provided to the user. Furthermore, at the time of sale, when the massager 20 can be displayed without packaging, the user has the option of visually recognizing the massaging properties of massager 20 without further checking the massager 20, packaging or literature.
[0019] Referring again to Figure 1, the massager 20 is also equipped with a remote control 40 connected to the massager 20, which allows the massager 20 to be adjusted. The shell 26 is provided with a pocket 42 attached to the side edge of the seat area 24. Pocket 42 has a hole in the rear end for convenient storage of the remote control 40 when not in use.
[0020] In Figures 3-5, the support area 22 is shown in greater detail. The support area 22 is equipped with a two-piece housing consisting of a front housing 44 and a rear housing 46. The front housing 44 and rear housing 46 have the right dimensions and are ready to be connected by a plurality of connecting elements 48 to retain assembly components massaging 50 located inside. The massage assembly 50 is equipped with a carriage 52 that interacts with the rear portion of the housing 46, for limited longitudinal translational movements in the backrest area 22. Accordingly, the rear portion of the housing 46 is equipped with a longitudinal guide 54 cooperating with the carriage 52. The longitudinal direction is shown in Figure 5, and the housing includes a vertical axis yL, also shown in Figure 5.
[0021] As shown in Figure 5, the guide 54 is equipped with a set of guides marked and referred to in the text as the upper guide 56, the central guide 58 and the lower guide 60.
The guides 56, 58 and 60 of the rear housing 46 cooperate with and retain the first longitudinal wedge 62 located along the side of the carriage 52. The carriage 52 includes a second longitudinal wedge 64 located along the side of the carriage 52, laterally spaced from the first longitudinal wedge 62. The transverse direction x shown in Figure 5. The second wedge 64 is held relative to the rear of the housing 46 by an elongated retaining guide 66 that has been attached to the rear of the housing 46 by means of a set of connecting elements 68.
[0022] The guide 54 of the rear housing 46 further comprises a pair of longitudinal rails 70, 70 'located on the rear of the housing 46. A pair of wedge grooves have been longitudinally shaped through the bottom of the carriage 52. The wedge grooves 72, 72' have dimensions dimensioned to receive the rails 70 and 70 'respectively. The interaction of the 70, 70 'rails and the keyways 72, 72' ensures transverse guidance and retention of the carriage 52 during translational movements along the guide 54. The carriage 52 can also be equipped with a plurality of roller bearings (not offset), each of which is articulated to the carriage 52 and which are offset and adjacent to the keyways 72, 72 ', which allows the bearing surface of the 70, 70' rails to be used. During translational movements of the carriage 52 along the guide 54, the carriage 52 is bearing-supported by roller bearings because they use the surfaces of the rails 70, 70 '. The joint, pending United States application with serial number 11 / 205.949, entitled "Portable body massager" and filed on August 17, 2005 by Roman Feber et al., Discloses and illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the interaction of keyways, rails and roller bearings for a carriage .
[0023] The rear of the housing portion 46 has a series of ribs 74 disposed thereon, providing a lateral support to the rear housing portion 46 and the guides 56, 58, 60, 66. Therefore, the two-piece housing 44, 46 provides both a cover and a frame structural for massaging assembly 50. Both housing parts 44, 46 can be formed by injection molding or the like, which will provide light weight for already stiffened structural components. In addition, the upper guide 56, middle guide 58, bottom guide 60 and rails 70, 70 'can be completely formed together with the rear part of the housing 46, thus increasing the stiffness and structural interaction of these elements, while reducing the cost of components and assembly.
[0024] As shown in Figure 3, the outer contour of the front of the housing 44 exceeds the overall dimensions of the rear of the housing 46. This property provides a wide lateral support to the user that is transferred directly to the rear of the housing 46. Soft pad (not shown) adheres to the outside of the front of the housing 44, providing comfort with the material being laid and support for the user when the user rests the support 34.
their back on the surface [0025] Figures 4 and 6 show the massage assembly 50 in detail. The massage assembly 50 is equipped with a first motor 76 mounted on a cart 52 and shielded by a cap 78. The cap 78 and the cart 52 together form the motor suspension for the first motor 76 and are connected to each other by a plurality of connecting elements 80. The purpose of the first motor 76 is to translate the carriage 52 along the guide 54 of the rear housing 46. The first engine 76 is equipped with an engine output shaft 82 exiting from the first engine 76 and driven by it. The output shaft of engine 82 is equipped with a screw 84, which is attached to the shaft 82. The screw 84 drives the worm gear 86 attached to the carriage 52 to rotate relative to the carriage 52.
[0026] The first gear gear 88 is attached to the bottom of the worm gear 86 and driven by it. The first reduction gear 90 is rotatably mounted on the carriage 52 and connected to the first gear gear 88. The second gear gear 92 is located on the underside of the first reduction gear 90. The second reduction gear 94 is also rotatably mounted on carriage 52. The second reduction gear 94 is connected to the second gear 92. The second reduction gear 94 has a third gear 96 mounted to its underside. The third gear of the gear 96 sets in motion the toothed bar 98 formed along the retaining guide 66.
[0027] Worm 84, worm gear 86, first gear gear 88, first reduction gear 90, second gear gear 92, second reduction gear 94, third gear gear 96 and gear rack 98 provide a drive in which the shaft rotates The output motor 82 goes through three stages of reduction to reduce rotation and increase the torque of the third gear gear 96 relative to the output shaft of engine 82. Because the bar 98 is mounted relative to the guide 54, the rotational movement of the third gear gear 96 sets the translational movement of the carriage 52 along the guide 54. Accordingly, the rotational movement of the output shaft of the motor 82 causes the translational movement of the carriage 52 along the guide 54 due to interaction with the gear rack 98 .
[0028] The massaging assembly 50 is also equipped with a second motor 100, which is mounted on the carriage 52 and shielded by the cap 78. The cap 78 and the carriage 52 together form the engine suspension for the second motor 100 and are connected to each other by means of a plurality of connecting elements 80 The purpose of the second motor 100 is to create a massage effect from the massaging assembly 50. The second engine 100 is equipped with an output shaft of the engine 102 exiting and driven by the second engine 100. The output shaft of the motor 102 is equipped with a worm 104 mounted on the shaft 102. The worm 104 drives the helical worm gear 106 mounted on the carriage 52. The helical worm gear 106 drives the reduction gear 108. The reduction gear 108 is attached to the transverse shaft 110 mounted on the carriage 52.
[0029] The transverse shaft 110, in turn, drives two oscillating mechanisms 112, 112 ', each of which converts the rotational movement of the transverse shaft 110 into an oscillating movement. More specifically, the oscillating mechanisms 112, 112 'depicted are often referred to as cam plate mechanisms. Although the cam plate mechanisms are presented herein, the invention leaves the possibility of using any mechanism that converts rotary motion into reciprocating or oscillating movement, yoke with yoke pushers, linkage mechanisms or the like.
for example sliding, consisting of cam mechanisms with a lever and [0030] Figures 6-8 show in detail the oscillating mechanisms 112, 112 '. Each of the oscillating mechanisms 112, 112 'is equipped with a cover
114, 114 ', attached to the carriage 52 by means of connecting pieces 116. Each of the covers 114, 114' has a drilled hole 118 for fixing the cam plate assembly. The cam guide 120 is located in the drilled hole 118 and is attached to the transverse shaft 110 for rotation. The cam guide 120 has a circular gap 122 formed around it. The slot 122 has an axis that is skewed relative to a plane perpendicular to the transverse shaft 110. In this way, as the transverse shaft 110 is driven by the second motor 100, the cam guide 120 rotates relative to the carriage 52, which results in the effect of an oscillating gap 122 relative to the carriage 52.
[0031] The massage blade 124 is provided and equipped with a plate 126 located in the slot 122 of the cam guide 120 in the sheath 114. The plate 126 has two pushers 128, each of which enters one of a pair of transverse slots 130 formed in the sheath 114. Cooperation of the pushers 128 in the slots 130 prevents the plate 126 in the shell 114 from rotating about the transverse axis. In this way, the rotary movement of the cam guide 120 sets the plate 126 in an oscillating motion in a plane defined by transverse slots 130. For the illustrated embodiment, the oscillation plane is substantially parallel to the carriage 52. Each of the oscillating mechanisms 112, 112 'is also equipped with attached to them end caps 132, 132 'that will hold cam guide 120 and plate 126 of massage vanes 124 within the enclosure 114.
[0032] Each of the blades 124 has a fork 134 extending beyond the cover 114 in a direction generally perpendicular to the carriage 52. Returning now to Figure 4, it shows a pair of massage arms 136, 136 ', each of which is pivotally connected to one of the forks 134, 134 'in the middle of each of the massage arms 136, 136' respectively. Each of the massage arms 136, 136 'is provided with an upper massage roller 138, 138' and a lower massage roller 140, 140 'rotatably attached thereto at opposite ends.
[0033] The massage rollers 138, 138 '140, 140' are spaced from the carriage 52 and come out through the slits 142, 142 '(Fig. 3) in the front of the housing 44 to contact the bottom of the coating 26 and thus develop on the body user effect of rolling massage. As shown in Figure 4, the second motor 100 drives oscillating mechanisms 112, 112 'so that the massage rollers 138, 138' 140, 140 'oscillate relative to the carriage 52. This oscillation is shown in Figure 4 by means of arcuate arrows. The oscillation also generates a kneading effect in which the upper massage rollers 138, 138 'move closer and the lower massage rollers 140, 140' move away from each other. Similarly, the upper massage rollers 138, 138 'move apart during oscillation, while the lower massage rollers 140, 140' move closer. Of course, the invention also contemplates the use of different kneading effects when the massage rollers are in one phase or in different phases relative to each other, for example in asynchronous motion generated by the illustrated massage assembly 50.
[0034] The slots 142, 142 '(Fig. 3) passing through the front of the housing 44 are substantially elongated, which allows the massage rollers 138, 138', 140, 140 'to slide along them, while the carriage 52 translatively moves relative to the guide 54. In addition, the cap 78 is equipped with a roller bearing 144 (Fig. 4) pivotally connected to it, thanks to which it contacts the bottom surface of the bearing located in the front part of the housing 44, which provides bearing support between the carriage 52 and the front part of the housing 44. As a result, the load exerted on the surface of the backrest 34 is transferred from the front of the housing 44 to the carriage 52 through the roller bearing 144, to the rear of the housing 46 by the roller bearings of the carriage 52, which provides support between them and prevents the translational movement of the carriage 52 along the guide 54 under the load exerted.
[0035] One aspect of rolling massage assemblies in the prior art is the use of motion blocks and biasing elements in the connection between massage arms and massage blades. Such mechanisms increase production costs and cause torque to be applied to the oscillating mechanism. As shown in Figure 9, the massage rollers 138 ', 140' have dimensions that make them contact the cap 78 when a load is applied to a given roller. For example, Figure 9 shows the bottom massage roller 140 'at the time of loading, so that the bottom roller 140' contacts the cap 78. This load causes the massage arm 136 'to tilt relative to the cap 78 until the bottom massage roller 140' begins to contact the overlay 78. The load exerted on the lower massage roller 140 'is transferred directly to the cap 78, thus eliminating the moment that would otherwise be applied to the massage blade 124 and thus to the oscillating mechanism 112.
[0036] In one embodiment of the invention, the massage arms 136, 136 'are equipped with light emitting diodes (LEDs) 146 (Fig. 9) attached thereto to illuminate each massage roller 138, 138', 140, 140 '. Illuminated massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' create a movable, visual effect of lighting through the translucent central region 38 of coating 26. To improve the lighting effect of the massage, the massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' are made of essentially translucent material, so that the lighting effect of the LEDs 146 illuminates each of the rolls 138, 138 ', 140, 140'.
[0037] The lighting of the massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' allows the user to see and enjoy the effects of massage lighting. In addition, when the massager 20 is on display, when consumers have the opportunity to test it, they can easily determine the number of massage contact points, available types of massage, and various massage properties. When the massager 20 is on display, where it can be continuously turned on, the passing consumer can easily determine the different massage effects thanks to the illuminated massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140'. The power supply wiring has been attached to the cart 52, as shown in Figure 9.
to LEDs 146 as lighting for
For example two [0038] LEDs 146 are on when massager 20 is in operating mode. Of course, the invention also envisages the use of LEDs 146 to present alternative alternative massage effects.
LEDs 146 can be attached to massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' to display one light color for one massage effect, such as rolling effect and another color for kneading massage effect, and both colors for massage effect by rolling and kneading.
[0039] The invention also provides that the front of the housing 44 may be translucent, which will allow the user to observe the work of the massage assembly 50. Furthermore, the invention provides that the cap 78 may be partially transparent, which will allow the user to observe the work of the components of the massage assembly 50.
[0040] The invention provides that the lighting effect can be used for massagers with different contact parts and massage assemblies. For example, the lighting effect can be used in rotary kneading massagers, such as those described in pending application with serial number 11 / 205.949. To provide power to the LEDs in an embodiment of the present invention with a rotating kneading massage mass, the conductive brushes may extend from the underside of the massage nodes, which will allow the use of conductive contact plates located on the trolley pad. The contact plates can be connected by wires to the power supply of the body massager.
[0041] Due to the translational movements of the carriage 52 and the first and second motors 76, 100, it may be necessary to direct the power cord so that the power cord 148, which powers the first and second motors 76, 100, and LEDs 146, does not interfere with the assembly massaging 50 and was not destroyed by him. along the guide 54.
[0042] The first motor 76 is directly coupled to the translation drive of the cart 52 when the first motor 76 is powered by electricity. Reversing the direction of carriage 52 occurs while simultaneously reversing the direction of rotation of the first motor 76. A series of limit switches 152a-152e (Fig. 5) were placed along the guide 54 to adjust the inversion of the first motor 76. Each of the limit switches 152a-152e is equipped with a leaf spring that extends in the unloaded position. During operation of each of the leaf springs, the respective limit switch 152a-152e sends a signal indicating the presence of the carriage 52. Therefore, each of the limit switches 152a-152e is set so that the associated leaf spring lengthens in the direction of the path 52 of the carriage 52 . The signals provided by the limit switches 152a-152e are processed by the central unit located on the circuit board 154 in the rear of the housing 46 of the support area 22, as shown in Figure 5.
[0043] The user controls the massage assembly 50 by means of a control cap provided on the remote control 40 of the body massager 20. The remote control 40 is shown in detail in Figure 10. The remote control 40 includes a body 156 with dimensions allowing the user to grip the body and a connecting cable 158 that connects the body 156 with a body massager 20. Pilot 40 is connected to the circuit board 154 by means of a connecting cable 158, which ensures efficient communication.
[0044] On the power supply remote control 160, there is a button on and off the body massager 20. The operation of the power button 160 also controls the lighting effect of the LEDs 146. The remote control 40 is also equipped with buttons that control the massage effect by kneading and the massage effect by rolling from the assembly 50. Each button on the remote control 40 has an LED that indicates the operation of a specific function.
[0045] The shiatsu massage effect button 162 along the entire back allows the massage effect to be selected by kneading and rolling along the entire length of the guide 54, where limit switches 152a, 152b, 152d and 152e determine the range of motion of the carriage 52. During this operation, the second motor 100 is without breaks driven to produce a continuous kneading massage effect. In addition, the first motor 76 is continuously driven to induce a continuous massage by rolling resulting from translational movements of the carriage 52 along the guide 54. When the carriage 52 reaches the end point of the entire path along the guide 54, the limit switches 152a and 152b or the limit switches 152d and 152e indicate that the extreme point has been reached and the circuit board 154 reverses the rotation of the first motor 76 so that the carriage 52 can reverse its direction of movement along the guide 54.
[0046] The upper back shiatsu massage effect button 164 and the lower back shiatsu massage effect button 166 allow you to adjust the massage effect by kneading and rolling within the target range determined by the limit switches. For example, the upper back massage button 164 gives a kneading and rolling massage effect within the range defined by limit switches 152a, 152b and 152c. The lower back massage button 166 gives a kneading and rolling massage effect within the range specified by limit switches 152c, 152d and
152e. In each of these ranges, the second engine 100 is continuously driven to provide a kneading massage effect, and the first engine 76 is continuously driven to provide translational movement of the carriage 52 within a specified range. When the carriage 52 reaches the end points of the range, the rotational movement of the motor 76 is reversed, which allows the direction of the carriage 52 to be reversed.
[0047] Pil ot 40 is also equipped with a button 168 to increase the kneading massage effect 168 and a button 170 to reduce the kneading massage effect, which allows to direct the massage effect by kneading to a specific position of the user's back. When one of the buttons 168, 170 is used, the second motor 100 is continuously driven, which provides a continuous kneading massage effect. If any of the buttons 168, 170 are pressed by the user, the first motor 76 is driven in the direction corresponding to the pressed button 168, 170, so that the carriage 52 translates in a translational direction in a user-defined direction. When the trolley reaches the user's selected position, the user pulls a finger from the button 168, 170, which interrupts the first motor 76 causing the trolley 52 to stop in the selected position, while the second motor 100 continues to provide a kneading massage effect.
[0048] Pil ot 40 is equipped with a massage effect button 172 over the entire length of the back 172 that provides a massage effect over the entire length of the back between limit switches 152a, 152b and 152d, 152e. To this end, the first motor 76 is continuously driven while the second motor 100 is not driven, so that the massage arms 136, 136 'are stationary relative to the carriage 52, which ensures the rolling of the massage rollers 138, 138', 140, 140 ' relative to the pram 52 and massage effect by rolling on the user's body. The first motor 76 is driven in the first direction of rotation until the carriage 52 contacts the limit switch in its travel range. At the time of contact, the rotational movement of the first motor 76 is reversed, which results in the reverse of the direction of travel of the carriage 52.
[0049] The massage effect buttons 174 of the upper back roll and the massage effect button 176 of the lower back roll have a rolling effect in the range determined by the limit switches 152a, 152b and 152c for the upper section button 174 and the limit switches 152c, 152d and 152e for the lower section button 176.
[0050] The remote control 40 is equipped with a button 178 for adjusting the width 178, so that the user can adjust the width of the massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' while using the rolling massage effect selected with one of the buttons 172, 174, 176 rolling effect. Describing in detail, the width adjustment button 178 controls the operation of the second motor 100 at a user-specified time. When the width adjustment button 178 is released, the second motor 100 stops working.
[0051] The width adjustment button 178 allows the user to adjust the oscillation direction of the massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' while the carriage 52 slides along the guide 54. The oscillation adjustment of the massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' adjusts the relative width massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' in relation to the longitudinal axis yL.
[0052] The remote control 40 is also equipped with a demo button 180 that launches a demonstration program of various combinations of massage effects located under the kneading and rolling buttons 162-178, allowing the user to test various massage effects.
[0053] Describing briefly, massage effects are generated by a simplified massage assembly 50. Massage effects by kneading and width adjustment of the massage effect by rolling are driven by a common motor providing continuous or user-defined oscillating movements of the massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140 '. As a result, the width adjustment of the massage rollers 138, 138 ', 140, 140' used in the massager 20 does not limit the portability and weight of the massager 20 and does not require a third motor.
[0054] Pil ot 40 may also be equipped with a massage button from the seat that activates the massage effect in the seating area 24. As shown in US patent application Febera et al. with serial number 10 / 836,905, vibrating massage units can be located in the seat area 24.
user recognition [0055] In summary, the massager 20 is equipped with a massage lighting effect that is intended to provide a visually interesting effect in combination with a combined massage effect. This lighting can attract the consumer's attention during the related properties of the massage by
In addition, compared to massagers in the prior art, the body massager 20 is equipped with a simplified massage effect, which affects its portability and reduces costs.
