The subject of the invention is a plasmotron power supply for conducting chemical reactions in the gas phase, especially the utilization of toxic gases.
To date, transformers with high internal reactance are used in arc feeders of plasmotrons. High performance plasmotrons with many electrode systems use low reactance transformers and current limiting chokes connected in series with each electrode system. The disadvantage of these power supplies is the low power consumption, the need to compensate reactive power with a capacitor bank and low energy efficiency. The low power utilization of the power supply transformers results from the fact that the ignition voltage of the plasmotron is several times higher than the operating voltage with a burning arc. It is known from the Polish patent application No. P-300 032 hybrid plasmotron power supply for conducting chemical reactions, especially the utilization of toxic gases, characterized by the fact that it consists of three identical, single-phase three-winding transformers with high-saturation magnetodes, whose primary windings are connected in star and are connected to a three-phase power supply, one secondary winding is connected in a star and is connected to the working electrodes of the plasmotron, the second secondary winding is connected in an open triangle and is connected to the neutral point of the secondary winding and the ignition electrode of the plasmotron.
The essence of the plasmotron power supply for conducting chemical reactions, especially for the utilization of toxic gases is that it consists of four single-phase transformers, of which three identical with saturated cores have primary windings connected in a star and connected to a symmetrical three-phase network, and secondary windings connected in a star and connected with plasmotron electrodes, where the primary winding of the fourth transformer is connected to the neutral point of the power supply network and the neutral point of the primary winding star of the three transformers, and its secondary winding is connected to the neutral point of the secondary winding star of the three transformers and to the plasmotron ignition electrode.
An advantageous effect of the invention is that by separating the high-voltage part from the low- and medium-voltage part, an increase in operational reliability, full utilization of transformer power and reduction of energy power losses are obtained.
The power supply of the plasmotron for conducting chemical reactions in the gas phase according to the invention is shown in the embodiment in a schematic drawing.
The power supply consists of four single-phase transformers of which three 1 identical with saturated cores have primary windings connected in a star and connected to a symmetrical three-phase network R, S, T, and secondary windings connected in a star and connected to electrodes 3, with the primary winding of the fourth transformer 2 is connected to
172 152 neutral point of network O and neutral point Ni of the primary winding star of three transformers, and its secondary winding is connected to the neutral point N2 of the secondary winding star of transformers and to the Z electrode of ignition plasmotion 3. Three identical transformers 1 work at significant saturation of the cores so that between the neutral point of the network O and the star of the primary windings Ni there is a significant voltage that powers the primary winding of the fourth transformer 2. In the secondary winding of the fourth transformer 2 a voltage several times higher than the secondary voltage of the assembly is induced transformers 1. Transformer 2 is built on a power several times lower than the power of a set of transformers 1, and its external characteristics are very susceptible. During operation of the plasmotron 3, the secondary voltage of the transformer assembly 1 and transformer 2 are equal.
