[0001] The subject of the invention is a dental suction device for suction of fluids and particles from the patient's oral cavity during surgery, consisting of a hollow body with a longitudinal axis Χ-Χ, having an external internal surface and a suction opening.
[0002] During medical and dental procedures, it is often necessary to remove arising fluids or separated particles from the treatment area. For example, it is necessary to extract saliva, spray liquid and blood during dental procedures. Suction may also require fluid used for cleaning or after using a multi-functional syringe. Extractors are usually used for such purposes, usually made of a tubular plastic body, at the end of which a hose connected to the pump is attached. Unnecessary liquids and solids are sucked through the hose and suction device.
[0003] Also in other areas of medicine, e.g. during surgery, it is often necessary to suck blood, fluid and / or bone particles or similar bodies.
[0004] The suction device is usually operated and held not by the attending physician or surgeon, but by an assistant. This is because the surgeon usually needs both hands. For example, the dentist often holds a drill in one hand and a mirror in the other that allows him to see the area in which he is performing the procedure. The same applies to the surgeon, who also often uses two instruments during the procedure, and at the same time needs a mirror.
[0005] The disadvantage of the described procedure is that two people, i.e. the attending physician and his assistant, must stand or sit very close to each other at the patient and the area in which the procedure is performed. This may prove to be a particular obstacle during relatively difficult or particularly precise procedures.
[0006] Another disadvantage of the described situation is the fact that the attending physician is condemned to the presence of an assistant if it is necessary to use a medical tool, suction device and mirror simultaneously. This is particularly burdensome for dentists, who could carry out many of the procedures themselves, but this prevents them from having to pick up liquids or particles.
[0007] Finally, the disadvantage is that a typical suction device often hinders the simultaneous operation of the drill, limiting access to the operated area.
[0008] FR 2 595 939, US 5490 780 and WO 2004/034892 describe suction devices in which the element in front of the suction opening is equipped with a mirror. Although the mirror improves the visibility of the treatment site, its use requires more space and the suction power is reduced.
EP 1 706 059 Β1 [0009] The object of the present invention is to improve a typical suction device so that it can find multiple applications on the one hand, and makes the operation of the user easier on the other. Another of its tasks is to enable you to carry out activities or treatments without the help of an assistant. At the same time, the production of suction devices should be cost-effective and easy to use. In addition, its use should not be difficult or adversely affect the patient.
[0010] According to the invention, this task is carried out by a medical extractor with the properties of independent claim 1.
[0011] It is particularly advantageous if the course of the longitudinal axis Χ-Χ of such a dental suction device for suction of fluids and particles from the patient's oral cavity during the procedure, which consists of a hollow body with a longitudinal axis, has an external internal surface and a suction opening, with what the body is in the longitudinal direction so shaped that it gives the possibility of changes in all directions.
[0012] The reflective coating according to the invention allows the user to use a medical suction device to drain liquids and particles as well as at the same time as a mirror. This is very helpful, especially for a dentist who usually has to drill and suction while treating a tooth with a drill. In addition, if he cannot see the treatment area, he must use a mirror. By using the suction device according to the invention, he is able to perform the procedure without the assistance of an assistant. The suction device is also a mirror.
[0013] In order for the suction device to perform the desired task, it does not have to be entirely covered with a reflective coating. It is sufficient if it is only in the area of the suction opening. It can be on both the inner and outer surface. [0014] Typical suction devices available for medical purposes usually have a suction opening that is arranged obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tubular body. The end of the tubular body with the suction opening extends not at right angles to the longitudinal axis, but is made obliquely to it. In this way, an oblique shape of the suction device is obtained, which makes it easier to insert it, e.g. between the cheek and teeth. With this application, the suction opening is directed towards the tooth and the opposite area of the body adjoins the cheek.
[0015] In the case of a particularly advantageous shape of the invention, the reflecting cover is provided on the inner surface of the body, especially in the area visible from the outside. This means that the suction tool can be approached to the tooth exactly as the dentist is used to, namely the suction opening towards the tooth, and the dentist can see the tooth or the area being treated through the suction opening covered with a reflective coating of the inner surface. The mirror does not increase the length of the suction device. This solution has the advantage that the suction performance does not decrease because the distance from the suction area does not increase. In addition, it turned out that for the same reason the inevitable noises generated by the air draft were not intensified. This is the case with a mirror
EP 1 706 059 przed1 in front of the suction opening, because it can cause unfavorable air turbulence.
Regardless, it may be beneficial to cover the outer surface of the body with a reflective coating instead of its inner surface, or to cover both of them. [0017] In another embodiment of the invention, the end of the sucker with the suction opening widens to increase particularly the inner reflecting surface. This makes sense when the internal surface of the suction device visible through the suction opening serves as the reflecting surface. The widening also allows better holding of soft tissues etc.
[0018] Depending on the desired function, it may be reasonable that the reflecting surface enlarges or reduces the image. This can be achieved by using a concave or convex shape of the suction device itself, covered with a reflective coating, or by applying to the body, e.g. concave or convex mirror. It can be glued or mounted in the material forming the body. If an additional mirror is used, it is important that it is connected to the suction body in such a way that its disinfection is not a problem. For this purpose, for example, methods of combining typical dental mirrors with their bodies can be used.
[0019] It is particularly advantageous to use a cap with a reflecting surface connected to the sucker in the area of the suction opening that can be dismantled. For example, the suction device can be equipped with a nut with which the attachment is mounted. This allows you to freely change the cap depending on your needs in a given situation. The attachment can take any shape, and the suction surface can be concave, convex or shaped differently.
[0020] The extractors according to the invention can be made of any material, plastics are recommended for financial reasons.
[0021] According to the invention, the body is made such that it can be adapted to the desired conditions by plastic deformation. This can be achieved, for example, due to the fact that the body is made of a relatively soft, plastically deformable plastic, which body is then brought to the desired shape, by means of a simple bend, by the attending physician before the intended use. Alternatively, one or more ball joints can be used. It is important that the longitudinal axis of the extractor can be changed in all directions. In a particularly preferred embodiment, such a hinge is positioned particularly close to the reflecting area or it is possible to twist the reflecting area around the longitudinal axis or to tilt it in its direction.
[0022] The invention is explained in more detail on the basis of the following figures.
[0023] They show:
Fig. 1: the basic view of the suction device according to the invention in side view,
Fig. 2: enlargement of the suction end with the suction opening.
EP 1 706 059 Β1 [0024] As can be seen from both figures, the medical suction device 10 consists of a hollow, for example tubular body 12 with an inner surface 14 and an outer surface 16. Furthermore, the body 12 has a longitudinal axis Χ-Χ which can run straight or, as in the example, with a fold. The bend has the advantage that the suction device 10 can be positioned more easily in the treatment area.
[0025] The body 12 has a connection opening 18 and a suction opening 20. The connection opening 18 serves for connecting to the invisible hose, liquids and particles are sucked through the suction opening 20.
[0026] In the present embodiment, the edge 22 extending around the suction opening 20 is also shown. This edge 22 for the suction 10, which is used for medical purposes, can better hold the patient's cheek or lips away from the treatment area. In addition, there are no sharp edges in this area of the suction opening 22.
[0027] According to the invention, the suction areas 10 have a reflecting surface 24. In the drawing it has been hatched. Covering the inner surface 14 of the suction device 10 with a reflective coating in the area visible through the suction opening 20, as in the example cited, has proved to be advantageous. This is exactly the area that during the procedure is located e.g. in front of the treated tooth because it must be near this area in order to effectively clean the treatment area. In addition, the constant draft generated by the suction on the inner surface 14 of the body 12 ensures that the reflecting surface will not be covered by steam. In addition, as shown in Figure 1, it is possible to cover the outer surface regions 16 with a reflective coating 24. The edge 22 may preferably have a greater thickness than shown in the drawing, which increases the reflecting surface.
[0028] It may also be advantageous to cover the reflective coating 24 of all visible surfaces of the body 12 or make it from a reflective material. [0029] The suction device 10 may advantageously have a light source in the area of the suction opening 20 that illuminates the visible area in the reflecting surface 24. This can be guaranteed, for example, by means of an optical fiber running along the body 12. The light source can be located directly in the area of the connection opening 18 or outwards if it is directed towards the optical fiber.
[0030] The body 12 can be made of any suitable materials, it can be e.g. hard plastic because it is easy to disinfect. In order to provide deformability according to the invention, the body areas can be made of softer material or have articulated areas. The latter solution has the advantage that the suction device can be shortened or extended.
[0031] The suction device 10 according to the invention also enables the person carrying out the treatment to be treated from behind (viewed from 12 o'clock on the clock). This significantly relieves the back of the person conducting the procedure, because he can lean over the patient from
EP 1 706 059 góry1 mountains. Because suction devices are particularly often used in dentistry, the invention can significantly contribute to increasing the ergonomics of the workplace.
[0032] The invention is not limited to the examples described only, and may also take other forms with similar functionality. The described variety is only an example and should not be understood as the sole possibility.
