A flexible expandable stent

A stent (30) is described for implantation into a body. The stent (30) is formed by a tube having a patterned shape having first and second loop patterns (11, 12) having axes extending in the first and second directions. The first loop patterns can be formed by equal and odd first loop patterns. The odd and odd loop patterns are 108 ° out of phase relative to each other, and the odd patterns exist between every other similar pattern. The other loop patterns are intertwined with the first loop patterns. The first and second directions may be orthogonal to each other.
