Abstract
An insertion system and a method of incorporating an additive 1 into a main fluid stream in a controlled condition are characterized in that a control device 20 has its electrical circuits 21 located in an explosive-sleeper housing 60 with a window 63 through which electromagnetic energy can be transmitted which eg. an infrared command signal. The circuits included in the explosion proof housing 60 include a receiver 25 for receiving the electromagnetic energy transmitted through the window 63 and one or more processors 21 for decoding information contained in the electromagnetic energy and performing one or more functions based on the electromagnetic energy. on this information. Addition insertion correction technique, a clean line technique and related and other features of the system and method are also contemplated.
