Multiple-array induction logging tool.

Abstract

A sonde for induction logging of boreholes comprising a transmitter-receiver coil array having et least two groups of coils that are time or frequency multiplexed. The response functions of the groups overlap vertically in such a manner that a lower portion of one group overlaps an upper portion of another group. The response of the sonde is obtained by combining the responses detected in several receiver groups at differents depths.
