Fluor copolymers, their application to the hydrophobic and oleophobic treatment of different substrates, and substrates thus treated.

The invention relates to fluorine-containing copolymers and their application to water and oil repellent treatment of various substrates. These copolymers comprise by weight:(A) 35 to 98% of one or monomer (s) of formula:wherein Rf is a perfluoroalkyl radical, Q is an oxygen or sulfur atom, B is a bivalent sequence linked to Q by a carbon, one of R is a hydrogen atom and the other a hydrogen or alkyl;(B) 1 to 15% of one or monomer (s) of formula:or R and R2 together with the nitrogen atom form a heterocyclic radical.(O 1 to 50 or of a monomer (s) of formula in which B 'is an alkylene radical, R' is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, R, represents an alkyl radical, hydroxyethyl or benzyl, Rz represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, hydroxyethyl or benzyl,wherein R3 R '3. R and R are hydrogen atoms or alkyl radicals; and eventually(D) up to 10% of any other monomer. These copolymers are more particularly intended for waterproofing and oil repellency of the paper and the like.
