A lightweight protective mat and matte-type filter comprising an outer restriction structure (10, 20) a three-dimensional inner structure (30) having a high cavity index and a granular filler material which is filled into the confining structure. Mechanical-type bonding means (50, 52) is distributed over the outer boundary structure for the purpose of holding these two structures in a predetermined position to each other.
