Wireless communication methods and components for facilitating multiple network type compatibility

The present invention relates to wireless local area networks (WLANs), and the interoperability of networks of different types or conforming to different standards, and to methods and devices that enable wireless multi-mode transmitters / receivers (WTRUs) capable of operating for more than a network type, to transfer from one network type to another without adversely affecting the service, to utilize a mechanism and information streams implemented in a protocol stack.
