Adaptive communication system enabling dissimilar devices to exchange information over a network
Abstract
Methods and devices enable various devices to exchange information over a data network having a first device (14), a second device (16) and a verification server (12). The verification server (12) stores a database of allowed transmit and receive devices. The first device (14) generates a send request authorization signal in a first direction to the verification server. The verification server (12) receives and compares the send request authorization signal with the database, and, in the case of a match, generates a transmit authorization signal in a second direction to the first device. The first device (14) sends - in response to the transmit authorization signal - a communication signal in a third direction to the second device (16). However, before a complete exchange between the first device and the second device can take place, the second device (16) receives the communication signal and, in response, generates a receive request authorization signal in a fourth direction to the verification server (12). The authentication server receives the receive request authorization signal, compares it to the database, and generates - in the case of a match - a mortar authorization signal in a fifth direction to the second device. The receiving authorization signal causes the second device to receive a message from the first device. Preferably, before the second device is received to receive the message from the first device, a translation function is provided which may be related to different device hardware, software device protocols,

Adaptive communication system that enables different devices to exchange information over a network (57) Summary
Methods and devices enable various devices to exchange information over a data network having a first device (14), a second device (16) and a verification server (12). The verification server (12) stores a database of allowed transmit and receive devices. The first device (14) generates a send request authorization signal in a first direction to the verification server. The verification server (12) receives and compares the send request authorization signal with the database and, in the case of a match, generates a send authorization signal in a second direction to the first device. The authentication server receives the receive request authorization signal, compares it to the database, and generates - in the case of a match - a receive authorization signal in a fifth direction to the second device.
