Group B Streptococcus (GBS) proteins and polymicleotides encoding them are described. Said proteins are antigenic, and therefore useful vaccine components for the prophylaxis or therapy of streptococcal infection in animals. Also described are * recombinant methods for preparing the protein antigens, as well as diagnostic assays for detecting streptococcal bacterial infection. -
