Jalousie door
Abstract
A jalousie door as described, having sections turnable about horizontal axes, the door being formed by a plurality of upper and lower juxtapositioned sections, each provided with an upper edge portion of a stepwise increasing height extending from the outside to the inside of the door, the side of the step facing outwardly forming a chute shaped cavity which is open outwardly and extending along the respected sections, the upper wall forming the cavity being horizontal when in a closed position.

The present invention relates to a device for a gate of the blind type, i.e. consisting of sections which are mutually pivotable about joints with horizontal axes, the lower of adjacent sections having an upper edge portion with stepping-step increasing height calculated from the outside of the gate in question.
In previously known gates of the above-mentioned type, it has often been a problem, especially in heavy rain against the gate, that water which has accumulated in the cracks between the superimposed sections, flows down on the inside of the gate when it is opened.
The object of the present invention is primarily to eliminate this drawback and to provide a gate which can be opened without danger of the person opening the gate getting over water which has accumulated in the section joints. This object is achieved with the device according to the invention, which is essentially characterized in that the outwardly facing sides of the step are formed with an outwardly open gutter-shaped hollow extending along the joints, if the upper wall forms a flap directed towards the outside of the door and if the lower wall and to this beyond the adjacent section edge side is horizontal or outwards closed in the closed position of the door to enable outflow of water collected in the gutter during the door opening movement, towards the door . __
In the following an example of a gate made with the device according to the invention will be described with reference to the drawings, in which fig. 1 is a view of a gate made with the device according to the invention taken at an angle from above and from the inside of the gate in the partially opened condition of the gate, fig. 2 is a vertical section showing partly an articulated portion between two superimposed sections and partly the lower edge portion of the lower section of the gate in the closed state of the gate and fig. 3 is a corresponding section of the joint portion at the transition between the vertical and horizontal guide rail portions of the door.
In fig. 1 is for the sake of clarity only included such details which are directly related to the present invention. Thus, in this drawing only two guide rails 1 are included, which are arranged at each of the side edges of the door, and which have partly a horizontal upper part 1a and partly a vertical part.

called lower portion 1b, which overlap over an arcuate bent intermediate portion Tc. The gate consists of a number of sections 2 and 3 located one above the other, which are interconnected in an articulated manner over horizontally extending joints 4. Such gates are further equipped with a hoisting machinery which is not shown in the drawings.
In the embodiment shown, the gate consists of a number of identical sections in its shape. Therefore, in the vertical section only the lower edge portion of the lower door section 2 and the two adjacent edge portions of superimposed door sections 3 are shown. and whose inner part 6 forms its inside. Between the two shell halves the gate contains a layer 7 of heat-insulating material, e.g. polyethylene foam. The upper edge portion of each door section 2 and 3 has seen from the outside of the door, i.e. from the left in the drawings, stepped increasing height, the outwardly facing side of the step having an outwardly open gutter 8 extending along the joints. . 2 and 3 also has the lower edge portions of the gate sections to the upper edge portions corresponding to the complementary stair step shape. The lower edge portion also has a horizontal cavity 9. The inner shell half 6 merges at the top into a horizontal edge portion 6a which is formed approximately at the center of the section with a downwardly bent drip edge 6b forming the upper opening edge of the gutter-shaped cavity 8, the upper wall of which is formed. of lots 6a and 6b. The lower wall 6c of the cavity 8, which ends in the direction of the outside of the door, merges into a flange portion 6d which is bent into the filling 7 of the section. themselves at a distance from the flange portion 6d. This distance is filled up by the foam filling and a membrane 10 extending between the two flanges 5a and 6d extending membrane 10 of some material with low thermal conductivity, e.g. plastic. With this construction, the otherwise common cold bridge is avoided. The joints 4 are formed by a hinge which is fastened in fastening plates 12 resp. 13 molded in on the inside of
