Walk stool with standing aid
The application relates to a crank, in which two tubes are hinged together. While walking, the tubes lie in line with each other, and the user rests on a handle located transversely to the tubes, while the forearm rests in a hook-shaped arm bracket. In order to be able to lean on the crank from a sitting position, the top tube is hinged transversely to the bottom tube and the user can exert an upward force on the transversely oriented top part of the crank.
A drawback is that the known hinge connection results in a crank with a reduced stability, whereby a relatively great force is required to stand up.
The object of the invention is to provide a crutch of the above type, which has a stable configuration during walking. It is a further object of the invention to provide a walking crank which can be easily pivoted into a position, whereby the forces upon standing and sitting are distributed evenly over the crank.
To this end, a walking crank according to the invention is provided with a first tube, which is provided with a foot near a first end and which is connected in a pivot point near a second end to a second tube, which first or second tube is provided at one end. a handle and can be brought into the hinge point both substantially parallel to the first tube and substantially transversely to the first tube, wherein the first tube is provided near the second end with a support located transversely of the tube, which is pivotally connected to the first tube and wherein the second tube is connected to the carrier outside the center line of the first tube.
Since the first and second tubes are placed parallel but at a mutual distance with their axes, the forces can effectively be transferred via the hinge of the carrier to the top of the bottom tube in the transversely hinged state of the second tube. In the running position both tubes can be placed parallel to each other and a stable configuration is obtained.
In one embodiment, the second tube with a first end engages a locking member located transversely of the second projecting from the first tube. As a result, a parallelogram construction is formed by the ends of the tubes and by the carrier and the locking member which have an increased rigidity during walking. to the crutch.
The handle placed transversely to the tubes can be located between the carrier and the locking member. The carrier and / or the locking member can be mounted in height adjustable along the tubes therewith, for instance via holes in the tubes which are known per se and which cooperate with a spring catch falling on the carrier and / or the locking member.
The hinged movement of the tubes can be supplemented by a vertical lowering of the second tube, reducing the force required to stand from a seated position and further increasing the stability of the standing and sitting position. This reduction can be realized, for example, by a simultaneous displacement of the hinge point during the folding down of the crank or the addition of a second hinge point.
An embodiment of a walking crank according to the invention will be further elucidated with reference to the annexed drawing. In the drawing shows:
Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of a stool according to the invention in a lo curb,
Fig. 2 is a schematic representation of the stool of FIG. 1 when standing up from a sitting position, and
Fig. 3 an enlarged detail of the hinge joint of the two tubes of the crank according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
Figure 1 shows a crutch 1 provided with a first tube 2 and a second tube 3. The first tube 2 comprises a base 4 at a first end 5, and at a second end 7 and carrier 8. The carrier 8 is pivotable in a pivot 9 and is attached to the second tube 3. The axes of the tubes 2 and 3 are spaced apart. A handle 12 and an arm bracket 13 are attached to the second tube 3 near the first end 15 and the second end 16, respectively. The first end 15 of the second tube 3 is attached to a locking member 17.
After release of the locking member 17, the second tube 3 can be pivoted in the hinge point 9, transversely to the first tube 2, for example as a support when standing up, as shown in figure 2.
Figure 3 shows an enlarged view of the carrier 8 and the locking member 17 according to the invention. The locking member 17 comprises a lip 21 which engages a spring catch 20 when the end 15 of the second tube 3 is inserted between the arms of a U-shaped end 22 of the locking device. The spring pawl 20 can be released via a locking pin 24 so that it can be released from the locking device 17, in order to place the top tube 3 transverse to the bottom tube 2.
