Mode for the Invention
Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail.
Figure 2 is a conceptual diagram illustrating a method for processing an ADO in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
As illustrated in FIG. 2, a transmitter 210 provides broadcast content to a user's receiver 240 through a digital transmission system 220. The receiver 240 generally indicates a user's digital television. However, receiver 240 is a generic concept that means a device to receive a transmission signal through a transmission network and process the transmission signal, and is not limited to digital television. Hereinafter, the receiver of

transmission as the very meaning of 1 television 1 for description convenience. Auxiliary data such as an EPG, an ADO, or a trigger that is a message requesting execution of an ADO may be provided through a transmission network, or through a separate web server 230.
In the present invention, an ADO is proposed. The ADO is an object that provides an auxiliary service associated with the transmission service such as the TDO, and it is also an object that is not executed in the transmission receiver 240 but is transferred by the transmission receiver 240 to a sub device 250 surrounding and is executed by sub device 250. The ADO can be implemented as an application or a declarative object created by web-based technologies such as HTML or CSS.
The ADO can be classified as a class of the TDO of life that the ADO is almost the same as the TDO except at a point where its main executing agent is a sub device. However, ADO does not necessarily have the same format as TDO since TDO is a term defined in ATSC that is a standard for terrestrial transmission in North America. Finally, any object to be executed in order to provide the user with the auxiliary service associated with the transmission service can be included in an ADO category.
ADO can be widely provided in two

types of a predefined P-ADO 262 and an S-AD (326i. The P-ADO indicates an ADO necessary to use an auxiliary service provided in a specific transmission company, and can be applied to a transmission service with which the company of corresponding transmission provides regardless of a class of transmission program or content. SADO indicates an ADO used to provide specialized ancillary service in relation to a broadcast program or content specified by the broadcasting company. The P-ADO and S-ADO can be discriminated by being implemented as different classes of objects or by inserting discrimination information into the ADO.
When the ADO is received, the transmitting receiver 240 transfers the ADO to the sub device 250 such as a smartphone or a tablet and causes the sub device 250 to execute the ADO. Therefore the user can use the transmission service through the transmission receiver 240 such as a television and use the auxiliary service through the sub device 250. For example, sub-device 250 may provide the user with a remote control UI that is necessary to control transmission receiver 240 with sub-device 250, an advertisement related to the transmission service, purchase information about a product featured in a 240 transmission receiver display,

weather OR news, OR an EPG that ρτ-ορητ-nj nna inf νηι · Ι · ί i ^ rr detailed about broadcast programs. The user can use the auxiliary service through the sub device 250. The sub device 250 can transfer a command to the transmission receiver 240 and communicate directly with the web server 230 in the transmitter through the auxiliary service.
Transmission receiver 240 can receive the ADO with broadcast content over the transmission network and download the ADO from an Internet address designated in an ADO table including ADO related information.
The ADO table is included in the EPG or trigger and can be received through a Digital Storage Media Command and Control (DSM-CC) channel. The ADO table will be described in detail in relation to Figure 5. The trigger is data that includes ADO related information such as an ADO runtime or connection information used to download the ADO and is received over the network. of transmission. When the trigger is received, the transmitting receiver 240 unloads into the ADO with reference to the connection information included in the trigger. However, the ADO can be pre-downloaded with the streaming content before the trigger is received.

In particular, the P-ADO can be included preOiáHléllLB in the · · transmission receiver 240 and released. Otherwise, the PADO is preferably pre-downloaded prior to receiving the transmission content and stored in a memory within the transmission receiver 240 because the P-ADO may be associated with all transmission content provided by a transmission company. default transmission.
Figure 3 is a flow chart illustrating a procedure for processing the ADO at the transmit receiver in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
In step 301, the transmitting receiver determines a sub-device to execute the ADO. In transmission receiver environments, there may be multiple user devices such as a mobile phone or tablet. The transmitting receiver performs a discovery procedure for the surrounding devices, determines which device will be used as a sub-device, and then pre-establishes a session with the given sub-device before the ADO runtime. This is because the ADO is required to immediately transfer to the sub device at the ADO runtime. Here, the discovery procedures, session establishment, and then
IMPI
INSTTrUTO MEXICANO df the INDUsniAl property message transmission and reception between the receiver oftransmission and sub device, various communication protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Universal Connect and Play (UPnP) can be used and the class of protocol is not limited to this.
In the sub-device determination operation, it is necessary to consider that a sub-device resource is adequate to execute the corresponding ADO. For this, the ADO table preferably includes information about a recommended resolution for running the corresponding ADO. The transmission can determine the sub device with reference to the ADO table. For example, when they discover the surrounding devices that may be the sub-devices, the transmitting receiver presents a list of devices that support a resolution of the recommended resolution or more on a display of the transmitting receiver, and finally determines the sub-device accordingly with user input from between devices.
In step 302, the transmitting receiver transfers the ADO to the sub-device at the ADO runtime. The sub device runs the ADO and presents an ADO execution screen to a presentation of the sub device and the user can use the service

transmission through the transmission receiver and ~ er auxiliary service through the sub device.
Meanwhile, the ADO execution screen can be presented on the transmit receiver or both the transmit receiver and the sub-device. For this case, the ADO table preferably includes information about which the transmission receiver and sub-device displays the ADO and the transmission receiver selectively displays the ADO execution screen with reference to the information.
Figures 4a to 4b illustrate an ADO class in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
As described above, the ADO in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention can be discriminated into a specialized S-ADO for a predetermined broadcast company and a specialized P-ADO for predetermined broadcast content. Figure 4a illustrates an embodiment of P-ADO, Figure 4b illustrates an embodiment of S-ADO.
As illustrated in Figure 4a, a television 410 receives broadcast content from a transmission company 400. At this time, television 410 preferably stores and previously specialized P-ADO 411 for the corresponding transmission company 400 before using a service. transmission company 400 transmission.

P-ADO 411 can be pre-downloaded by television 410 from web server 401 or it can be included in a television in manufacturing and then released.
Television 410 performs discovery and establishment procedures with a smartphone 420 before the ADO runtime specified in the trigger or EPG. When the ADO runtime returns, the television 410 transfers UI data, primarily, P-ADO 411 to the smartphone 420. Accordingly, the user can use the auxiliary service related to the transmission service provided by the transmission company 400 through the smartphone 420. For example, the user can control the television 410 through the P-ADO 411 and communicate directly. with the web server 4 01 of the transmission company 400.
In Figure 4a, a communication protocol used to perform operations 2 to 5 is not limited to a specific one. For example, operations 2 through 5 can be performed using UPnP and at this time, television 410 can operate as a UPnP Remote User Interface (RUI) server and smartphone 420 can operate as a UPnP RUI client.

previously on television 410 and television 410 receives S-ADO 413 which provides an auxiliary service related to specific transmission content with the transmission content from transmission company 400. Television 410 performs discovery and establishment procedures with the telephone Smart 420 before the ADO runtime specified in the trigger or the
EPG, and transfers the P-ADO 412 to the 420 smartphone, when the P-ADO runtime returns. Also, when the S-ADO runtime returns, television 410 transfers S-ADO 413 to smartphone 420.
As described above, since P-ADO 412 is not a predetermined streaming program but a
ADO specialized for all broadcast content, television 410 preferable download and previously the P-ADO
412 before receiving the streaming content. In contrast, S-ADO 413 is preferably downloaded with the corresponding broadcast content because S20 ADO 413 is a specialized ADO for streaming content. For example, P-ADO 412 may provide a UI that allows the user to transmit suggestions to transmission company 400. S-ADO 413 can provide a UI that allows the user to transmit observer evaluation for a predetermined transmission program.

A communication protocol used to perform operations 2 to 7 in Figure 4b is not limited to a specific one. For example, operations 2 to 7 can be performed using UPnP, and at this time television 410 operates as a UPnP RUI server and smartphone 420 operates as a UPnP RUI client.
Figure 5 illustrates the ADO table in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
The ADO table illustrated in Figure 5 includes information related to ADO, and parameters of the ADO table can be included in the EPG or the trigger. The parameters included in the ADO table are not limited to those shown in Figure 5. Mainly, a portion of the parameters in Figure 5 can be omitted and other parameters may be included as well. A person skilled in the art can easily understand the meanings of the parameters through the description in relation to Figure 5.
ADOTable_id indicates an identifier for the ADO table, and Service_Link indicates an identifier for a streaming service associated with the ADO table. Both parameters can be represented as bit numbers or URLs.
ADO_type indicates whether the ADO is P-ADO or S-ADO and may supplementally indicate an auxiliary service class with which the ADO provides. For example, upper 4 bits of 16 bits represent an ADO format and 12 bits

OE THE INDUSTRIAL PMORLOAD
<img file="MX339405B_D0017.tif" />
The lower ones represent an aukmár service class with which the ADO is provided.
AD0_locator indicates connection information through which the ADO can be received, and can be an identifier representing a transmission channel or it can be a URL.
Execution Time, Display_place, Resolution, Secure_execution, and ADOjpriority represent an ADO execution environment. Display_place represents that the ADO execution screen will be presented in the transmission receiver, in the sub device or both of the Transmission Server and the sub device. The transmitting receiver selectively displays the ADO execution screen in the display with reference to this parameter when executing the ADO.
The resolution indicates a recommended resolution of the presentation where the ADO is to be presented.
Secure_execution indicates whether the security of ADO execution is tightened. For example, in the case of an ADO making online purchases, security needs to be strengthened. Therefore, the broadcast receiver or sub-device may request a password from the user when the ADO is running.
ADO_priority indicates which is executed when both P-ADO and S-ADO exist for the same broadcast content. Generally, S-ADO preferably and preferentially runs in place of P-ADO.
