Radio channel allocation based on location of mobile users

The present invention relates to a method for assigning a communication channel in a broadcasting communication system having a plurality of geographical areas, each zone having a corresponding transmitter / receiver station that provides broadcasting communication through communication channels with mobile radios, the method comprising the steps: determining a geographical location for one of said mobile radios by an apparatus located with said mobile radio, transmitting said geographical location by mobile radio to a control system for said communication system, transmitting a request for a communication channel from said mobile radio, and assigning said mobile radio a communication channel of one of the transmitting / receiving stations as a function of said transmitted geographical location.
