An extrusion coatable polyester film having an aminofunctional silane primer, and extrusion coated laminates thereof.

The present invention relates to a polyester film, oriented, characterized in that it has a coating primer composition on at least one of its sides, and because the coating primer composition comprises the dry residue of a hydrolyzed aminosilane compound; (R1aSi (R2) b (R3) c where R1 is a functional group with at least one primary amino group, R2 is a hydrolysable group selected from the group consisting of a lower alkoxy having 1 to 8 carbon atoms C1 a C8 an aceotxy group or a halide group and R3 is a non-hydrolysable non-reactive group selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl having 1 to8 carbon atoms or a phenyl group; with a) being greater than or equal to 1: b) being greater than or equal to 1: c) being greater than or equal to zero and with a + b + ca 4, the coating primer composition is present at an effective weight to improve the adhesion of one or more polymers coated by extrusion to the polyester film.
