Process for underground water purification from sulphureted hydrogen and/or sulphides

Abstract

The invention relates to processes for the purification of groundwaters of hydrogen sulphide and / or sulphides and may be used in the water treatment process or in the autonomous filters for water purification. The process according to the invention includes the purification of groundwater hydrogen sulphide and / or sulphides by aerating them in the presence of catalysts obtained from oxidized activated charcoal impregnated with copper or iron ions for 30-90 minutes with an air flow of 10-15 L / h per 1 g of catalyst , the weight ratio of the catalyst: water being 1: 350 to 450 and the pH of the water 7.5 ... 8.5. The result of the invention consists in the oxidation of the sulfide ions to sulfur compounds of high degree of oxidation, which excludes the formation of elemental sulfur and the possibility of clogging the pores of the catalyst.
