Method of monitoring a patient in a sickbed, e.g. for a longer immobility or an abnormal stress of the patient, by repeated contactless detection of situation images of the patient or of partial regions of his body, evaluation of the detected situation images for the determination of changes between successive situation images and if necessary the release of one or more actions.
