The present invention relates to a medical device, namely to a device for parenteral administration of a liquid to a patient and enabling the liquid to be administered to a patient.
Devices are known by which drugs can be injected into a stream of parenteral fluid (see EP 0059694 and EP 0077604).
A device is known in which the valve can operate in three positions - one for direct fluid delivery, one for drug dissolution and one for drug delivery from the system (see US 4534758). In prior art devices, it is imperative that the liquid formulation be prepared for injection into the container prior to setting the valve in the drug delivery position, which complicates the use of these devices.
The object of the invention is to improve the ease of operation. The object is achieved by the fact that the receptacle for the dry medication can be combined with the device for parenteral administration of the liquid, while the liquid may be combined with the dry medication so that the medication enters the liquid during its administration.
Thus, the device of the invention is a device for delivering a substance from a solid preparation to a flowable liquid for parenteral administration to a patient and is made as a connector with a parenteral fluid connection device and has a valve consisting of a movable core operable in a transfer position flows directly from the connector inlet to the outlet and in the operating position, fluid flows from the entrance of the connector into the container for dry drug.
The invention is explained in the drawings, wherein:
FIG. - illustrates the connector in the transfer position;
FIG. - same, in working position;
FIG. - connector in transfer position;
FIG. - AA section in Figure 3;
FIG. - cross-section of the connector in the working position with the capacity for the dry medicinal product;
FIG. Fig. 1-5 - Alternative Rear of Connector
The coupling consists of a chamber (1) with a transfer tube (2) at one end, which is usually uppermost in use.
At the opposite end, an exit transfer tube is provided, which contains a piercing membrane insert (4). The coupling consists of a valve consisting of a cylindrical body (5) and a cylindrical core (6) moving within it. The transfer tube (2) consists of a chamber inlet channel (7) which engages with the first transfer channel (8) of the core (6) when the valve is moved to the transfer position (Fig. 4). The channel (8) is connected to the first inner cavity (9) located in the chamber (1). From the inner cavity (9), when the valve is in the transfer position, the fluid can flow in two ways: through the second transfer channel (10) in the valve core or through a bacterial filter (11) sealed perimeter of the walls forming the second inner cavity (12), connected via a membrane (4) to an outlet channel (13) of the chamber (1).
In the operating position of the valve (Fig. 5), which is at an angle of $ 90 with respect to the transfer position, the inlet channel (7) is associated with the core outlet channel (14). The passage (14) through the valve core outlet means, i.e., the conical inlet opening (15), is connected to the conical inlet port (18) of the container (17) for the dry medicament, which is an elongated ampoule having an inlet port (16) an outlet flange (18) adjacent to one another. The conduit (18) through the tapered outlet opening (19) of the valve core is associated with an outlet passage (20) which engages the first inner cavity (9) when not directly connected to the second inner cavity (12). The cylindrical surface of the valve core (6) is in tight contact with the cylindrical surface of its housing (5). The axial movement of the valve core (6) is guided by the flange (21) formed on the edge (22) of the valve body (5) and the axial projection (23) on the rear wall (24) of the chamber (1). An air channel (25) is provided in the transfer tube (2). The first inner cavity (9) is limited by the capacitance rear wall (24), the connector side and rear walls, and the filter (11). The second transfer tube (3) is for connecting the chamber (1) through the diaphragm (4) to the connecting element (25).
The alternative rear portion (26) has a hydrobophinic filter (27) through which air may be vented from the lower portions of the system.
The container (17) is also manufactured with an inlet channel (28) by means of which the container (17) is connected to the inlet nozzle (16) with the dry medicament (29).
The connector is used this way.
The connector operates in two modes: fluid transfer mode and operating mode.
In transfer mode, the valve is positioned so that the fluid flows through two paths: through a channel (10) or through a filter (11). In this mode, the connector can be turned ON for parenteral administration, while the container (17) can be removed and reinserted. In this mode, the tank (17) is not involved in the process because it cannot flow through it.
In order to bring the coupler into operating mode, it is necessary to turn the container (17) from the position shown in Fig. 1 to the position shown in Fig. 2. In this case, since the container is like a handle for turning the valve, the valve (7) connects with the nozzle (16) and the fluid flowing through the channel (16), the channel (28), the granular drug layer (29) which is released into the liquid. enters the outlet nozzle (18) and continues through the conduit (20), the fluid passing only through the filter (11) into the chamber (12).
Although the valve operates in the transfer and operating positions, it does not have a position in which the preparation can drop or dissolve when in the container.
