Flameeretardant putty composition

PURPOSE:The titled composition showing improved nondripping properties and toughness even in fire, exhibiting functions to prevent the spread of fire, obtained by blending a curable polychloroprene liquid at normal temperature with a hydrated metallic oxide, inorganic filler and heat-resistant fibers in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. curable polychloroprene liquid at normal temperature (preferably one having a viscosity at 25 deg.C 10,000-300,000cps) is blended with (B) 200-700pts.wt., preferably 250-450pts.wt. hydrated metallic oxide (preferably those having different particles diameters such as hydrated metallic oxides having particles diameter 10-80mu and particle diameter not more than 10mu are used together), (C) not more than 80wt%, preferably not more than 50wt% (based on component B) inorganic filler (preferably clay, zinc borate and/or bentonite), and (D) 20-100pts.wt., preferably 20-60pts.wt. heat-resistant fibers (preferably a mixture of 100pts.wt. glass fibers and 10-300pts.wt. asbestos fibers, in such a way that the total amt. of components B and D is 250pts.wt., to give the desired composition.
