BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an optical disc reproduction device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
【0019】
FIG. 1 shows a block of an optical display player for reproducing data from an optical disc according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 shows a block of a disk drive unit for driving the optical disc shown in FIG. 3 shows the structure of the optical disc shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
【0020】
As shown in FIG. 1, the optical disc playback device includes a key operation / display unit 4, a monitor unit 6, and a speaker unit 8. Here, the recorded data is reproduced from the optical disc 10 by the user operating the key operation / display unit 4. The recorded data includes video data, sub video data and audio data, which are converted into video signals and audio signals. The monitor unit 6 displays an image by an audio signal, and the speaker unit 8 generates audio by an audio signal.
【0021】
As is already known, the optical disc 10 has various structures. The optical disk 10 includes, for example, as shown in FIG. 3, a read-only disk on which data is recorded at a high density. As shown in FIG. 3, the optical disk 10 is composed of a pair of composite layers 18 and an adhesive layer 20 interposed between the composite disk layers 18. Each of the composite disk layers 18 is composed of a transparent substrate 14 and a recording layer, that is, a light reflecting layer 16. The disk layer 18 is arranged so that the light reflecting layer 16 is in contact with the surface of the adhesive layer 20. The optical disc 10 is provided with a center hole 22, and a clamping region 24 for holding the optical disc 10 during its rotation is provided around the center holes 22 on both sides thereof. The spindle of the spindle motor 12 shown in FIG. 2 is inserted into the center hole 22 when the disk 10 is loaded into the optical disk device, and the optical disk 10 is clamped in the clamping region 24 while the disk is rotated. Will be done.
【0022】
As shown in FIG. 3, the optical disc 10 has an information region 25 around which the clamping regions 24 on both sides thereof can record information on the optical disc 10. Each information area 25 is defined as a lead-out area 26 in which information is normally not recorded in its outer peripheral area, and a lead-in area 27 in which information is normally not recorded in its inner peripheral area in contact with the clamping area 24. Further, the area between the lead-out area 26 and the lead-in area 27 is defined as the data recording area 28.
【0023】
In the recording layer 16 of the information area 25, tracks are usually formed continuously in a spiral shape as an area in which data is recorded, and the continuous tracks are divided into a plurality of physical sectors, and the sectors are divided into a plurality of physical sectors. , Serial numbers are assigned, and data is recorded based on this sector. The data recording area 28 of the information recording area 25 is an actual data recording area, and as will be described later, playback information, video data (main video data), sub video data, and audio data are similarly pitted (that is, physical). It is recorded as a change in the target state). In the read-only optical disc 10, a pit row is formed in advance on the transparent substrate 14 by a stamper, a reflective layer is formed by vapor deposition on the surface of the transparent substrate 14 on which the pit row is formed, and the reflective layer is formed as a recording layer 16. Will be done. Further, in the read-only optical disc 10, usually, a groove as a track is not particularly provided, and a pit row formed on the surface of the transparent substrate 14 is defined as a track.
【0024】
As shown in FIG. 1, such an optical disk device 12 further includes a disk drive unit 30, a system CPU unit 50, a system ROM / RAM unit 52, a system processor unit 54, a data RAM unit 56, a video decorator unit 58, and an audio decoder. It is composed of a unit 60, a sub video decoder unit 62, a D / A, a data reproduction unit 64, and a screen creation device 66. The system processor section 54 includes a system time clock 54A and a register 54B, and the video decorator section 58, the audio decoder section 60, and the sub-video decoder section 62 also include a system time clock (STC) 58A, 60A, 62A. ing.
【0025】
As shown in FIG. 2, the disk drive unit 30 includes a motor drive circuit 11, a spindle motor 12, an optical head 32 (that is, an optical pickup), a feed motor 33, a focal circuit 36, a feed motor drive circuit 37, and a tracking circuit 38. , Head amplifier 40 and servo processing circuit 44. The optical disk 10 is mounted on a spindle motor 12 driven by a motor drive circuit 11, and is rotated by the spindle motor 12. An optical head 32 that irradiates the optical disc 10 with a laser beam is placed under the optical disc 10. Further, the optical head 32 is mounted on a guide mechanism (not shown). A feed motor drive circuit 37 is provided to supply a drive signal to the feed motor 33. The motor 33 is driven by a drive signal to move the optical head 32 in the radial direction of the optical disc 10. The optical head 32 includes an objective lens 34 facing the optical disc 10. The objective lens 34 is moved along its optical axis according to a drive signal supplied from the focal circuit 36.
【0026】
In order to reproduce data from the above-mentioned optical disc 10, the optical head 32 irradiates the optical disc 10 with a laser beam through the objective lens 34. The objective lens 34 is finely moved in the radial direction of the optical disc 10 according to the drive signal supplied from the tracking circuit 38. Further, the objective lens 34 is finely moved along the optical axis direction according to a drive signal supplied from the focusing circuit 36 so that its focus is located on the recording layer 16 of the optical disk 10. As a result, the laser beam forms the smallest beam spot on the spiral track (ie, the pit row), and the track is tracked by the light beam spot. The laser beam is reflected from the recording layer 16 and returned to the optical head 32. The optical head 32 converts the light beam reflected from the optical disk 10 into an electric signal, and this electric signal is supplied from the optical head 32 to the servo processing circuit 44 via the head amplifier 40. The servo processing circuit 44 generates a focal signal, a tracking signal, and a motor control signal from the electric signal, and supplies these signals to the focal circuit 36, the tracking circuit 38, and the motor drive circuit 11, respectively.
【0027】
Therefore, the objective lens 34 is moved along its optical axis and the radial direction of the optical disc 10, its focus is located on the recording layer 16 of the optical disc 10, and the laser beam forms the smallest beam spot on the spiral track. Further, the spindle motor 12 is rotated at a predetermined rotation speed by the motor drive circuit 11. As a result, the pit row of the optical disk 10 is tracked by an optical beam, for example, at a constant linear velocity.
【0028】
A control signal as an access signal is supplied to the servo processing circuit 44 from the system CPU unit 50 shown in FIG. In response to this control signal, the head movement signal is supplied from the servo processing circuit 44 to the feed motor drive circuit 37, and this circuit 37 supplies the drive signal to the feed motor 33. Therefore, the feed motor 33 is driven and the optical head 32 is moved along the radial direction of the optical disc 10. Then, a predetermined sector formed on the recording layer 16 of the optical disk 10 is accessed by the optical head 32. The reproduced data is reproduced from the predetermined sector, supplied from the optical head 32 to the head amplifier 40, amplified by the head amplifier 40, and output from the disk drive unit 30.
【0029】
The output playback data is stored in the data RAM unit 56 by the system processor unit 54 under the control of the system CPU unit 50 controlled by the program recorded in the system ROM and the RAM unit 52. The stored playback data is processed by the system processor unit 54 and classified into video data, audio data, and sub-video data, and the video data, audio data, and sub-video data are classified into the video decoder unit 58 and the audio decoder unit 60, respectively. And it is output to the sub video decoder unit 62 and decoded. The decoded video data, audio data, and sub-video data are converted into video signals and audio signals as analog signals by the D / A and playback processing circuit 64, and mixed to monitor the video signal and sub-video signals. In addition, audio signals are supplied to the speaker unit 8 respectively. As a result, the video signal and the sub video signal display the video on the monitor unit 6, and the audio signal reproduces the sound from the speaker unit 8.
【0030】
Further, it has a screen creation device 66 for creating a menu screen or the like composed of a character generator controlled by the system CPU unit 50, and the screen creation device 66 is a character based on a character code for a selection screen from the system CPU unit 50. A menu screen or the like is created by using a generator according to the corresponding character pattern and supplied to the D / A and the reproduction processing circuit 64. As a result, the D / A and the reproduction processing circuit 64 are converted into a video signal as an analog signal corresponding to the menu screen created by the supplied character pattern and supplied to the monitor unit 6. As a result, the image of the selection screen such as the menu screen is displayed on the monitor unit 6.
【0031】
In the optical disc playback device shown in FIG. 1, the user operates the keys on the front panel of the main body and the remote control as a remote control device connected to the remote control receive unit 4A in the main body by optical communication by infrared rays. By operating 5, recorded data, that is, video data, sub-video data, and audio data are reproduced from the optical disk 10, converted into audio (audio) signals and video signals inside the device, and monitored unit 6 and speakers outside the device. It is reproduced as video and audio in Part 8.
【0032】

【0034】
The detailed operation of the optical disk device shown in FIG. 1 will be described in more detail later with reference to the logical format of the optical disk 10 described below.
【0035】
The data recording area 28 from the read-in area 27 to the read-out area 26 of the optical disk 10 shown in FIG. 1 has a volume and a file structure as shown in FIG. This structure is defined in accordance with a specific standard as a logical format, for example, micro UDF (micro UDF) and ISO9660. The data recording area 28 is physically divided into a plurality of sectors as described above, and the physical sectors are numbered consecutively. In the explanation below, the logical address means the logical sector number (LSN) as defined by micro UDF (micro UDF) and ISO9660, and the logical sector is 2048 bytes, which is the same as the size of the physical sector. Numbers (LSNs) are numbered consecutively in ascending order of physical sector numbers.
【0036】
As shown in FIG. 6, this volume and file structure has a hierarchical structure and includes a volume and file structure area 70, a video manager 71, at least one or more video title sets 72 and another recording area 73. .. These areas are separated on the boundaries of the logical sectors. Here, one logical sector is defined as 2048 bytes as in the conventional CD. Similarly, one logical block is defined as 2048 bytes, so one logical sector is defined as one logical block.
【0037】
The file structure area 70 corresponds to the management area defined in the micro UDF and ISO9660, and the video manager 71 is stored in the system ROM / RAM unit 52 through the description of this area. The video manager 71 contains information for managing the video title set as described with reference to FIG. 7, and is composed of a plurality of files 74 starting from file # 0. Further, each video title set 72 stores compressed video data, audio data, sub-video data, and reproduction information thereof, as will be described later, and is similarly composed of a plurality of files 74. Here, the plurality of video title sets 72 is limited to a maximum of 99, and the number of files 74 (File # j to File # j + 9) constituting each video title set 72 is set to a maximum of 10. Has been done. These files are also separated by logical sector boundaries.
【0038】
Information that can be used for the video title set 72 described above is recorded in the other recording area 73. The other recording area 73 does not necessarily have to be provided.
【0039】
As shown in FIG. 7, the video manager 71 contains three items, each corresponding to each file 74. That is, the video manager 71 is composed of the video manager information (VMGI) 75, the video object set (VMGM_VOBS) 76 for the video manager information menu, and the video manager information backup (VMGI_BUP) 77. Here, the video manager information (VMGI) 75 and the video manager information backup 77 (VMGI_BUP) 77 are required items, and the video object set (VMGM_VOBS) 76 for the video manager information menu is optional. .. The video object set (VMGM_VOBS) 76 for VMGM stores video data, audio data, and sub-video data of the menu related to the volume of the optical disc managed by the video manager 71.
【0040】
Like the video playback described later by this video object set for VMGM (VMGM_VOBS) 76, the volume name of the optical disc, the explanation of the audio and sub video accompanying the volume name display are displayed, and the selectable items are sub. It is displayed as a video. For example, the video object set for VMGM (VMGM_VOBS) 76 is the video data that stores the game up to the boxer's world champion where the optical disc is located, that is, the boxer X together with the volume name such as the glorious history of the boxer X. The fighting pose of is played back as video data, his theme song is displayed by voice, and his chronology etc. is displayed in the sub video. In addition, it is asked whether to select English, Japanese, or other languages for the narration of the match as a selection item, and whether to display subtitles in other languages in the sub video, and which language to select subtitles. You will be asked if you want to. With this video object set for VMGM (VMGM_VOBS) 76, users will be ready to watch the video of Boxer X's game, for example, with audio in English and Japanese subtitles as a secondary video.
【0041】
Here, the structure of the video object set (VOBS) 82 will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 8 shows an example of a video object set (VOBS) 82. The video object set (VOBS) 82 has three types of video object sets (VOBS) 76, one for two menus and one for titles. That is, the video object set (VOBS) 82 contains the video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95 for the menu of the video title set and the title of at least one or more video title sets in the video title set (VTS) 72 as described later. There is a video object set (VTSTT_VOBS) 96 for, and all video object sets 82 have the same structure except for their different uses.
【0042】
As shown in FIG. 8, a video object set (VOBS) 82 is defined as a set of one or more video objects (VOB) 83, and the video objects 83 in the video object set (VOBS) 82 serve the same purpose. Will be done. Normally, the video object set (VOBS) 82 for menus is composed of one video object (VOB) 83, and stores data for displaying screens for a plurality of menus. On the other hand, the video object set (VTSTT_VOBS) 82 for the title set is usually composed of a plurality of video objects (VOB) 83.
【0043】
Here, the video object (VOB) 83 corresponds to the video data of each game of Boxer X, for example, in the boxing video described above, and by designating the video object (VOB), for example, the world champion is challenged. You can recreate the 11th round with a video. In addition, the menu video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95 of the video title set 72 stores the menu data of the game of the boxer X, and according to the display of the menu, the eleventh to challenge a specific game, for example, the world champion. You can specify a battle. In a normal one-story movie, one video object (VOB) 83 corresponds to one video object set (VOBS) 82, and one video stream is completed by one video object set (VOBS) 82. Further, in an animation collection or an omnibus format movie, a plurality of video streams corresponding to each story are provided in one video object set (VOBS) 82, and each video stream is stored in the corresponding video object. Therefore, the audio stream and sub-video stream related to the video stream are also completed in each video object (VOB) 83.
【0044】
The video object (VOB) 83 is assigned an identification number (IDN # j), and the video object (VOB) 83 can be identified by this identification number. The video object (VOB) 83 is composed of one or more cells 84. A normal video stream will be composed of a plurality of cells, but a video stream for a menu, that is, a video object (VOB) 83 may be composed of one cell 84. Similarly, the cell is assigned an identification number (C_IDN # j), and the cell 84 is identified by this cell identification number (C_IDN # j). When changing the angle, which will be described later, the angle is changed by specifying this cell number.
【0045】
Here, the angle means changing the viewing angle in the field of video. In the boxing example, the same knockout scene is viewed from the champion side, the challenger side, and the judge side. It means that you can see scenes from various angles such as boxing scenes. The angle can be selected according to the user's preference, or the same scene may be automatically repeated with different angles in the flow of the story. Also, when selecting an angle, if the angle changes by returning to the beginning of the same scene, for example, the angle changes at the moment when the boxer enters the counter, and the counter enters again, and the angle changes in the scene following that scene. When it changes, for example, the angle may change at the moment when the punch is inserted after the boxer puts the counter. A navigation pack 86, which will be described in detail later, is provided in the video object unit (VOBU) 83 so that any angle change can be realized.
【0046】
As shown in FIG. 8, each cell 84 is composed of one or more video object units (VOBU) 85, usually a plurality of video object units (VOBU) 85. Here, the video object unit (VOBU) 85 is defined as a pack column headed by one navigation pack (NV pack) 86. That is, the video object unit (VOBU) 85 is defined as a collection of all packs recorded from one navigation pack 86 to just before the next navigation pack. As shown in FIG. 9, the playback time of this video object unit (VOBU) corresponds to the playback time of video data composed of one or more GOPs contained in the video object unit (VOBU), and the playback time thereof. Is set to be 0.4 seconds or more and not greater than 1 second. In MPEG, 1GOP is usually 0.5 seconds, and it is defined as compressed screen data for playing back about 15 images during that period.
【0047】
As shown in Fig. 8, when the video object unit contains video data, it is composed of a video pack (V pack) 88, a secondary video pack (SP pack) 90, and an audio pack (A pack) 91 specified in the MPEG standard. The video data stream is composed by arranging the GOPs to be played, but the video object (VOBU) 83 is defined based on the playback time of the GOP regardless of the number of GOPs, and the navigation is always at the beginning. Packs (NV packs) 86 are arranged. Further, even if the playback data contains only audio and / or sub video data, the playback data is configured with this video object unit as one unit. That is, even if the video object unit is composed of only the audio pack, the audio pack to be played within the playback time of the video object unit to which the audio data belongs is stored in the video object unit as well as the video object of the video data. The object. The procedure for playing these packs will be described in detail later together with the navigation pack (NV pack) 86.

As described with reference to FIG. 8, cell 84 is defined as a set of video object units (VOBU) 85, which is defined as a pack sequence starting with navigation (NV) pack 86. Therefore, the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 in cell 84 represents the start address of NV pack 86. As shown in FIG. 43, the NV pack 86 has a structure consisting of a pack header 110, a system header 111, and two packets as navigation data, that is, a reproduction control information (PCI) packet 116 and a data search information (DSI) packet 117. The number of bytes as shown in FIG. 43 is assigned to each part, and one pack is defined as 2048 bytes corresponding to one logical sector. The NV pack is also placed just before the video pack that contains the first data in its Group of Pictures (GOP). The NV pack is placed at the beginning of the object unit that contains the audio pack and / and the secondary video pack even if the object unit 85 does not contain the video pack. As described above, even when the object unit does not include the video pack, the playback time of the object unit is determined based on the unit in which the video is played, as in the case where the object unit includes the video pack.
【0111】
Here, GOP is defined by the MPEG standard and is defined as a data string constituting a plurality of screens as described above. That is, the GOP corresponds to the compressed data, and when the compressed data is decompressed, the image data of a plurality of frames capable of reproducing the moving image is reproduced. The pack header 110 and the system header 111 are defined by the MPEG2 system layer. The pack header 110 stores the pack start code, the system clock reference (SCR), and the multiplexing rate information, and the system header 111 contains bits. The rate and stream ID are listed. The packet headers 112 and 114 of the PCI packet 116 and the DSI packet 117 also store the packet start code, the packet length, and the stream ID as defined in the MPEG2 system layer.
【0112】
The other video, audio, and secondary video packs 88, 89, 80, 91 also contained the pack header 120, packet header 121, and corresponding data as defined by the MPEG2 system layer as shown in FIG. It consists of 122 packets, and its pack length is set to 2048 bytes. Each of these packs matches the boundaries of the logical blocks.
【0113】
The PCI data (PCI) 113 of the PCI packet 116 is the navigation data for changing the content of the presentation, that is, the display in synchronization with the playback state of the video data in the VOB unit (VOBU) 85. That is, in the PCI data (PCI) 113, as shown in FIG. 45, PCI general information (PCI_GI) as information of the entire PCI and angle information (NSML_AGLI) as each jump destination angle information when the angle is changed are described. ing. In the PCI general information (PCI_GI), as shown in Fig. 46, the address of NV pack (NV_PCK) 86 where PCI113 is recorded is the number of relative logical blocks from the logical sector of VOBU85 where PCI113 is recorded. NV_PCK_LBN) is described. In addition, the general PCI information (PCI_GI) describes the category of VOBU85 (VOBU_CAT), the start PTS (VOBU_SPTS) of VOBU85, and the end PTS (VOBU_EPTS). Here, the start PTS (VOBU_SPTS) of the VOBU85 indicates the playback start time (start presentation time stamp (SPTS)) of the video data in the VOBU85 including the PCI113. This playback start time is the first playback start time in VOBU85. Usually, the first picture corresponds to the playback start time of the I picture (Intra-Picture) in the MPEG standard. The end PTS (VOBU_EPTS) of the VOBU85 indicates the playback end time (end presentation time stamp: EPTS) of the VOBU85 including the PCI113.
【0114】
As shown in Fig. 47, the angle information (NSML_AGLI) describes the start address (NSML_AGL_C_DSTA) of the angle cell to jump to as many as the number of angles, and the start address is from the logical sector of NV pack 86 in which PCI113 is recorded. It is described by the relative logical sector of. In the case of changing the angle based on this angle information (NSML_AGLI), as shown in FIG. 48, the start address of VOBU85 in another angle block equal to the playback time of VOBU85 in which the PCI113 is recorded, or the playback time. The start address (NSML_AGL_C_DSTA) of VOBU85 in another angle block having the closest playback time in front is described in this angle information (NSML_AGLI).
【0115】
According to the description of the start address (NSML_AGL_C_DSTA) of such an angle cell, specifically, the following angle change is realized. Here, the change of the angle will be described assuming a scene in which a series of time from the pitcher throwing to the batter hitting the ball to the home run in a baseball game is continuous. Here, the angle cell (ANG_C # j) controlled by PCI113 can be changed in units of the video object unit (VOBU) 85 as shown in FIG. 48. In FIG. 48, the video object unit (VOBU) 85 is numbered according to the playback order according to the playback order, but the video object unit (VOBU #) corresponding to the playback number n of a certain angle cell (ANG_C # j). n) 85 is the same time as or earlier than the video object unit (VOBU # n) 85 having the playback number n corresponding to the other angle cell (ANG_C # 1) 84 or the angle cell (ANG_C # 9) 84. Contains video data about the closest different scene. In a certain angle cell (ANG_C # j) 84, a panoramic view containing a pitcher and a batter is projected on the screen, and VOBU85 is continuously arranged as video data in which a series of operations are projected, and an angle cell (ANG_C # 1) is also displayed. In) 84, VOBU85 is continuously arranged as video data in which only the batter is projected on the screen in order to appreciate the batter's batting form, and in the angle cell (ANG_C # 9), only the pitcher's expression is displayed on the screen. It is assumed that VOBU85 is continuously arranged as the video data projected on. First, if the user is watching the angle cell # j (AGL_C # j) and changes it to the angle cell # 1 at the moment of hitting, that is, if the angle is changed to the angle at which only the batter is projected at the moment of hitting, the hit is made. The screen will not be changed to the screen of only the batter after, but will be changed to the screen after the batter starts swinging the bat before the hit starts. Also, first, the angle cell #j (AGL_C # i)be able to.
【0116】
The DSI data (DSI) 115 of the DSI packet 117 shown in FIG. 43 is navigation data for executing the search of the VOB unit (VOBU) 85. As shown in FIG. 49, the DSI data (DSI) 115 describes DSI general information (DSI_GI), angle information (SML_AGLI), VOB unit search information (NV_PCK_ADI), and synchronous playback information (SYNCI).
【0117】
The DSI general information (DSI_GI) describes the information of the entire DSI115. That is, as shown in FIG. 50, the system time reference reference value (NV_PCK_SCR) of the NV pack 86 is described in the DSI general information (DSI_GI). This system time reference reference value (NV_PCK_SCR) is stored in the system time clock (STC) built into each part shown in Fig. 1, and the video, audio and sub video packs are video, audio and sub video based on this STC. The decoder units 58, 60, and 62 decode the video and audio, and the monitor unit 6 and the speaker unit 8 reproduce the video and audio. In the DSI general information (DSI_GI), the start of NV pack (NV_PCK) 86 in which DSI115 is recorded in the number of relative logical sectors (RLSN) from the first logical sector of VOB set (VOBS) 82 in which DSI115 is recorded. The address (NV_PCK_LBN) is described, and the address (VOBU_EA) of the last pack in the VOB unit (VOBU) 85 in which the DSI115 is recorded as the number of relative logical sectors (RLSN) from the first logical sector of the VOB unit (VOBU) is Are listed.
【0118】
In addition, the DSI General Information (DSI_GI) contains the number of relative logical sectors (RLSN) from the first logical sector of the VOB unit (VOBU) in which the DSI115 is recorded, and the final address of the first I picture in this VOBU. The end address (VOBU_IP_EA) of the recorded V pack (V_PCK) 88 is described, and the identification number (VOBU_IP_IDN) of the VOBU83 in which the DSI115 is recorded and the identification number (VOBU_C_IDN) of the cell in which the DSI115 is recorded are described. Are listed.
【0119】
In the angle information (SML_AGLI), as shown in FIG. 51, the start address (SML_AGL_C_DSTA) of the jump destination angle cell is described as the angle information (NSML_AGLI) of PCI113, and the start address is the DSI115. Is described in the relative logical sector from the logical sector of NV Pack 86 in which is recorded. In the case of changing the angle based on this angle information (SML_AGLI), as shown in FIG. 52, the start address of cell 84 in another angle block after the playback time of VOBU85 in which the DSI115 is recorded is this angle information. Described in (SML_AGLI).
【0120】
When DSI angle information (SML_AGLI) is used, PCI can be changed in the video object unit (VOBU), but the angle is changed in cell units, and the scene is changed continuously in time. That is, the PSI angle information (SML_AGLI) describes the temporally discontinuous angle change, whereas the DSI angle information (SML_AGLI) describes the temporally continuous angle change. If a specific example of the angle is explained using the above-mentioned baseball example, the following angle change can be realized. Angle cell # j (AGL_C # j) 84 is a stream of image data taken from the infield side in a series of scenes where the pitcher throws and the batter hits this ball and this hit ball becomes a home run. Angle cell # 1 Assumes that a similar scene is an image data stream taken from the outfield side. Further, it is assumed that the angle cell # 9 is an image data stream that captures the state of the team to which the batter belongs in the same scene. If you change to angle cell # 1 the moment you hit while watching angle cell # j (AGL_C # j), that is, if you change to the scene from the outfield side at the moment you hit, it will be continuous in time after the batter's hit. You can change to a screen where the hit ball flies to the outfield. Also, if you change to angle cell # 9 at the moment when you first watch angle cell # j (AGL_C # i) and become a home run, that is, if you change to an angle that shows the state of the team to which the batter belongs, you will get a home run. The state of the team and the facial expression of the manager who made a fuss are displayed on the screen. When the angle information (NSML_AGLI) of PCI113 and the angle information (SML_AGLI) of DSI115 are used in this way, clearly different scenes are reproduced.
【0121】
In the search information (VOBU_SI) of VOBU85, information for specifying the start address in the cell is described as shown in FIG. 53. That is, as shown in FIG. 53, the search information (VOBU_SI) of the VOBU85 has a forward address [data] (FWDANn) of +1 to +20 based on the VOB unit (VOBU) 85 including the DSI115 as the playback order. The [presence / absence and if any] start address (A_FWDn) of the VOB unit (VOBU) 85 up to +60, +120 and +240 is stated as the number of logical sectors relative to the first logical sector of the VOB unit. ing.
【0122】
This forward address (FWDANn) is represented by 32 bits as shown in FIG. 54, and bit numbers 29 (b29) to 0 (b0) include the address, for example, the address of the forward address 10 (FWDA10). At the beginning of the forward address (FWDANn), a flag (V_FWD_Exist1) indicating whether the video data is in the video object unit (VOBU) 85 corresponding to the forward address (FWDANn) and the video object are described. A flag (V_FWD_Exist2) indicating whether there is video data between and the video object unit to be forwarded is described. That is, when V_FWD_Exist1 corresponds to the bit number (b31) and this flag is 0, the video object unit (VOBU) 85 specified by the forward address (FWDANn) described in bit numbers 29 to 0. Means that there is no video data, and if this flag is 1, the video object unit (VOBU) 85 specified by the forward address (FWDANn) described in bit number 29 to bit number 0 Means that there is video data. For example, if there is video data at the forward address 10 (FWDA10), V_FWD_Exist1 at bit 31 will be flagged as 1, and if there is no video data at that address, V_FWD_Exist1 at bit 31 will be flagged as 1. 0 is described. If V_FWD_Exist2 corresponds to the bit number (b30) and this flag is 0, the forward address (FWDANn) described from bit number 29 to bit number 0. Video on any of the video object units (VOBU) 85 between the video object unit (VOBU) 85 specified by) and the video object unit (VOBU) 85 that contains the DSI115 that describes this forward address. It means that there is no data, and if this flag is 1, it means that the video object unit (VOBU) 85 has video data in any of the video object units in between. For example, a plurality of video object units corresponding to forward 1 to forward 9 between a video object unit having forward address 10 (FWDA10) and a video object unit 85 including DSI115 describing forward address 10 corresponding to forward address 0. If there is video data in bit 30, V_FWD_Exist2 of bit 30 is flagged as 1, and if there is no video data at that address, 0 is described in V_FWD_Exist2 of bit 30.
【0123】
Similarly, as shown in FIG. 53, the search information (VOBU_SI) of the VOBU85 is -1 as backward data (BWDA) in the direction opposite to the reproduction order based on the VOB unit (VOBU) 85 including the DSI115. The start address (A_BWDn) of the VOB unit (VOBU) 85 from to -20, -60, -120 and -240 is described as the number of logical sectors relative to the first logical sector of the VOB unit (VOBU) 85. There is.
【0124】
This backward address (BWDANn) is represented by 32 bits as shown in FIG. 55, and bit numbers 29 (b29) to 0 (b0) indicate the address, for example, backward address 10 (BWDA10). A flag (V_BWD_Exist1) indicating whether the address is described and the video data is in the video object unit (VOBU) 85 corresponding to the backward address (BWDANn) at the beginning of the backward address (BWDANn). And a flag (V_BWD_Exist2) indicating whether there is video data between the video object and the backward video object unit is described. That is, when V_BWD_Exist1 corresponds to the bit number (b31) and this flag is 0, the video object unit (VOBU) specified by the backward address (BWDANn) described in bit numbers 29 to 0. 85 means that there is no video data, and if this flag is 1, the backward address (BWDANn) described in bit numbers 29 to 0. It means that the video object unit (VOBU) 85 specified by) has video data. For example, if there is video data at backward address 10 (BWDA10), V_BWD_Exist1 at bit 31 is flagged as 1, and if there is video data at that address, V_BWD_Exist1 at bit 31 is flagged as 1. , 0 is described. If V_BWD_Exist2 corresponds to the bit number (b30) and this flag is 0, the video object unit (VOBU) specified by the backward address (BWDANn) described in bit numbers 29 to 0. Any of the video object units between 85 and the video object unit containing the DSI115 that lists this backward address means that there is no video data, and if this flag is 1, the video It means that the object unit (VOBU) 85 has video data. For example, if there is video data in any of the video object units 85 between the video object unit at backward address 10 (BWDA10) and the backward address 10 corresponding to backward address 0, then bit 30 V_BWD_Exist2 Is flagged as 1, and if there is no video data at that address, 0 is described in V_BWD_Exist2 of bit 30.
【0125】
The synchronization information (SYNCI) describes the address information of the sub video and audio data to be reproduced in synchronization with the reproduction start time of the video data of the VOB unit (VOBU) including the DSI 115. That is, as shown in FIG. 56, the start address (A_SYNCA) of the target audio pack (A_PCK) 91 is described in terms of the number of logical sectors (RLSN) relative to the NV pack (NV_PCK) 86 in which the DSI 115 is recorded. To. If there are multiple audio streams (up to 8), synchronization information (SYNCI) is described for that number. Also, in the synchronization information (SYNCI), the NV pack (NV_PCK) in which the address (SP_SYNCA) of the NV pack (NV_PCK) 86 of the VOB unit (VOBU) 85 including the target audio pack (SP_PCK) 91 is recorded as DSI115. ) Described as the relative number of logical sectors (RLSN) from 86. If there are multiple secondary video streams (up to 32), synchronization information (SYNCI) is described for that number.

Next, the reproduction process of the menu will be described with reference to FIG. 1 using the optical disk 10 having the logical format shown in FIGS. 6 to 56. In FIG. 1, the solid line arrow between the blocks indicates the data bus, and the broken line arrow indicates the control bus.
【0127】
In the optical disk device shown in FIG. 1, when the power is turned on and the optical disk 10 is loaded, the system CPU unit 50 reads the initial operation program from the system ROM and RAM unit 52 to operate the disk drive unit 30. .. Therefore, the disk drive unit 30 starts the read operation from the read-in area 27, and following the read-in area 27, the volume and the file structure area 70 whose volume and file structure are defined in accordance with ISO-9660 or the like are read. .. That is, the system CPU unit 50 gives a read command to the disk drive unit 30 in order to read the volume and file structure area 70 recorded at a predetermined position of the optical disk 10 set in the disk drive unit 30, and the volume and file. The contents of the structural area 70 are read out and temporarily stored in the data RAM unit 56 via the system processor unit 54. The system CPU unit 50 extracts information such as the recording position, recording capacity, and size of each file and other management information as information necessary for management via the path table and directory record stored in the data RAM unit 56, and the system Transfer to a predetermined location in the ROM & RAM section 52 for use and save.
【0128】
Next, the system CPU unit 50 acquires a video manager 71 composed of a plurality of files starting from file number 0 by referring to the recording position and recording capacity information of each file from the system ROM & RAM unit 52. That is, the system CPU unit 50 gives a read command to the disk drive unit 30 by referring to the recording position and recording capacity information of each file acquired from the system ROM and the RAM unit 52, and exists on the root directory. The positions and sizes of a plurality of files constituting the video manager 71 are acquired, the video manager 71 is read out, and the files are stored in the data RAM unit 56 via the system processor unit 54.
【0129】
After that, as shown in the flowcharts of FIGS. 57 and 58, the system CPU unit 50 includes the total number of titles in the optical disk 10, the number of chapters (programs) for each title, the number of audio streams for each title, and the audio stream. Language, the number of sub-video streams for each title, and the language of the sub-video stream.
【0130】
That is, the system CPU unit 50 searches the title search pointer table (TT_SRPT) 79, which is the second table of the video manager 71 (step S51). The system CPU unit 50 obtains the total number of titles in the optical disk 10 from the number of title search pointers (TT_Ns) described in the information (TT_SRPTI) 92 of the title search pointer table in the title search pointer table (TT_SRPT) 79 (TT_Ns). Step S52).
【0131】
In addition, the system CPU unit 50 determines each title according to the number of part-of-titles (PTT_Ns) as the number of chapters (number of programs) described in each title search pointer (TT_SRP) 93 in the title search pointer table (TT_SRPT) 79. Obtain the number of chapters (number of programs) of (step S53).
【0132】
Further, the system CPU unit 50 uses the start address (VTS_SA) of the video title set 72 described in each title search pointer (TT_SRP) 93 to use the video title set which is the first table of each video title set 72. The video title set part of title search access pointer table (VTS_PTT_SRPT) 99 in information (VTSI) 94 is searched (step S54). The system CPU section 50 obtains the number of audio streams for each title from the number of audio streams (VTS_AST_Ns) listed in the table (VTS_PTT_SRPT) 99 for each video title set 72, and obtains the number of audio streams for each title according to the number of sub video streams (VTS_SPST_Ns). Obtain the number of secondary video streams for each title (step S55).
【0133】
In addition, the system CPU unit 50 uses the audio language code for each audio stream described in the audio stream attribute (VTS_AST_ATR) of the table (VTS_PTT_SRPT) 99 for each video title set 72 to determine the language for each audio stream of each title. (Step S56).
【0134】
In addition, the system CPU unit 50 uses the language code of the sub-video for each sub-video stream described in the sub-video stream attribute (VTS_SPST_ATR) of the table (VTS_PTT_SRPT) 99 for each video title set 72 to determine the sub-video of each title. Get the language for each stream (step S57).
【0135】
In addition, the system CPU unit 50 searches the video manager menu PGCI unit table (VMGM_PGCI_UT) 81, which is the fourth table in the video manager information (VMGM) 75 of the video manager 71 (step S58). This search searches the video manager menu PGCI unit search pointer (VMGM_LU_SRP) 81B, which describes the same language code as the language set in the playback device (step S59).
【0136】
When the video manager menu PGCI unit search pointer (VMGM_LU_SRP) 81B in which the same language code is described is searched, the system CPU unit 50 determines the video manager menu language unit (VMGM_LU) corresponding to the pointer (VMGM_LU_SRP) 81B. Video manager menu in 81C PGC information search pointer (VMGM_PGCI_SRP) Search for the menu ID described for each program chain category (VMGM_PGC_CAT) of each video manager menu of 81E (step S60), and use this search as the root menu. It is determined whether or not the main menu exists and whether or not the title menu (video title set menu) exists (step S61).
【0137】
If the main menu exists, the system CPU section 50 describes the VMGM program chain information (VMGM program chain information) described in one of the video manager menu PGC information search pointer (VMGM_PGCI_SRP) 81E in which the menu ID of the root menu is described. The contents of the corresponding VMGM program chain information (VMGM_PGCI) 81F are read by the start address (VMGM_PGCI_SA) of VMGM_PGCI) 81F, and the start of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 described in this VMGM program chain information (VMGM_PGCI) 81F is read. The address (C_FVOBU_SA) is stored in the memory table 56A as the start address of the main menu (step S62).
【0138】
If a title menu exists, the system CPU unit 50 describes the VMGM program chain described in one of the video manager menu PGC information search pointer (VMGM_PGCI_SRP) 81E in which the menu ID of the title menu is described. The contents of the corresponding VMGM program chain information (VMGM_PGCI) 81F are read by the start address (VMGM_PGCI_SA) of the information (VMGM_PGCI) 81F, and the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 described in this VMGM program chain information (VMGM_PGCI) 81F is read. The start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of is stored in the memory table 56A as the start address of the title menu (step S63).
【0139】
Further, the system CPU unit 50 searches the video title set menu PGCI unit table (VTSM_PGCI_UT) 111 in the video title set information (VTSI) 94, which is the first table for each video title set 72 (step S64). .. This search searches for the video title set menu PGCI unit search pointer (VTSM_LU_SRP) 111B, which describes the same language code as the language set in the playback device (step S65).
【0140】
When the video title set menu PGCI unit search pointer (VTSM_LU_SRP) 111B in which the same language code is described is searched, the system CPU unit 50 determines the video title set menu language unit (VTSM_LU) corresponding to the pointer (VTSM_LU_SRP) 111B. Video title set menu in 111C PGC information search pointer (VTSM_PGCI_SRP) Search for the menu ID described for each program chain category (VTSM_PGC_CAT) of each video title set menu of 111E (step S66), and use this search to search for the sub video menu, It is determined whether or not the audio menu, the angle menu, and the chapter (program) menu exist, and whether or not the title menu exists (step S67).
【0141】
If those menus exist, the system CPU section 50 will use the VTSM program chain information (VTSM_PGCI) listed in one of the video title set menu PGC information search pointers (VTSM_PGCI_SRP) 111E that list the menu IDs. The contents of the corresponding VTSM program chain information (VTSM_PGCI) 111F are read by the start address (VTSM_PGCI_SA) of 111F, and the start address (VOBU) 85 of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 described in this VTSM program chain information (VTSM_PGCI) 111F ( Store C_FVOBU_SA) in memory table 56A as the start address of the corresponding menu (step S68).
【0142】
As a result, the start addresses of the sub-video menu, audio menu, angle menu, and chapter (program) menu for each video title set 72 are stored in the memory table 56A.
【0143】
As a result, as shown in FIG. 59, the memory table 56A stores the start address corresponding to each menu corresponding to the language set in the playback device.
【0144】
Therefore, when the menu key 5k of the remote control 5 is input, the system CPU unit 50 determines the reproduction of the main menu and determines whether or not the main menu exists. As a result of this judgment, if it is determined that the main menu exists, the system CPU unit 50 determines the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 stored corresponding to the main menu of the memory table 56A. ) Is read, and the data of the main menu corresponding to this address is read from the area corresponding to the video object set (VMGM_VOBS) 76 for the video manager menu (VMGM) 75 of the optical disk 10 and played. The reproduced data is input to the data RAM unit 56 via the system processor unit 54. The data cell 84 is given to the video decoder unit 58, the audio decoder unit 60, and the sub-video decoder unit 62 based on the reproduction time information, is decoded, and is signal-converted by the D / A and the reproduction processing unit 64 to be converted into a monitor unit 6. As shown in FIG. 60, the image of the main menu is reproduced and the sound is reproduced from the speaker unit 8.
【0145】
Also, when the title key 5l of the remote control 5 is pressed, or when the "1" key corresponding to the title is pressed while the above main menu is playing, or when normal playback starts, the system The CPU unit 50 determines the reproduction of the title menu and determines whether or not the title menu exists. As a result of this judgment, if it is determined that the title menu exists, the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 stored corresponding to the title menu of the memory table 56A is read and this address is read. Read and play the title menu data corresponding to from the area corresponding to the video object set (VMGM_VOBS) 76 for the video manager menu (VMGM) 75 of the optical disk 10. 61 (a), the image of the title menu is reproduced and the sound is reproduced from the speaker unit 8.
【0146】
Also, when the "2" key corresponding to the chapter is pressed while the main menu is playing, or after the title is selected by normal playback, the system CPU unit 50 changes to the currently selected title. Judges the playback of the corresponding chapter menu and determines whether or not the chapter menu exists. As a result of this judgment, if it is determined that the chapter menu exists, the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 stored corresponding to the chapter menu in the memory table 56A is read, and this address is read. The data of the chapter menu corresponding to is read from the area corresponding to the video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95 for the video title set menu (VTSM) of the optical disk 10 and played back. 61 (b), the image of the chapter menu is reproduced and the sound is reproduced from the speaker unit 8.
【0147】
Also, when the "3" key corresponding to audio is pressed while the main menu is playing, or after a title is selected by normal playback, the system CPU section 50 changes to the currently selected title. Determines the playback of the corresponding audio menu and determines if the audio menu exists. As a result of this judgment, if it is determined that the audio menu exists, the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 stored corresponding to the audio menu in the memory table 56A is read, and this address is read. Reads and plays back the audio menu data corresponding to from the area corresponding to the video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95 for the video title set menu (VTSM) of the optical disk 10. 61 (c), the image of the audio menu is reproduced and the sound is reproduced from the speaker unit 8.
【0148】
In addition, when the "4" key corresponding to the sub video is pressed while the main menu is playing, or after the title is selected by normal playback, the system CPU unit 50 determines the currently selected title. Judges the playback of the sub-video menu corresponding to, and determines whether or not the sub-video menu exists. As a result of this judgment, if it is determined that the sub-video menu exists, the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 stored corresponding to the sub-video menu in the memory table 56A is read. The data of the sub-video menu corresponding to this address is read from the area corresponding to the video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95 for the video title set menu (VTSM) of the optical disk 10 and played back. 61 (d), the image of the sub-video menu is reproduced and the sound is reproduced from the speaker unit 8.
【0149】
Also, when the "5" key corresponding to the angle is pressed while the main menu is playing, or after the title is selected by normal playback, the system CPU section 50 changes to the currently selected title. Judges the playback of the corresponding angle menu and determines whether or not the angle menu exists. As a result of this judgment, if it is determined that the angle menu exists, the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first video object unit (VOBU) 85 stored corresponding to the angle menu in the memory table 56A is read and this address is read. The data of the angle menu corresponding to is read from the area corresponding to the video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95 for the video title set menu (VTSM) of the optical disk 10 and played back. The reproduced data is input to the data RAM unit 56 via the system processor unit 54. The data cell 84 is given to the video decoder unit 58, the audio decoder unit 60, and the sub-video decoder unit 62 based on the reproduction time information to be decoded, and is signal-converted by the D / A and the reproduction processing unit 64 to monitor the monitor unit 6. As shown in FIG. 61 (e), the image of the angle menu is reproduced and the sound is reproduced from the speaker unit 8.
【0150】
Therefore, since the system CPU unit 50 stores the position data of each menu acquired above in the menu table 56A in the data RAM 56, it is possible to easily reproduce the necessary menu using this table. Can be done.
【0151】
If the system CPU unit 50 determines that the main menu does not exist, the characters corresponding to the number of titles, chapters, audio language, sub-video language, and angle that have been acquired as described above. The code, its format data, and the instruction for creating the main menu screen are output to the screen creation device 66. The image of the angle menu as shown in (e) is played.
【0157】
The system CPU unit 50 acquires the video, audio, and sub-video streams for the video manager menu described in the information management table (VMGI_MAT) 78 of the video manager (VMGI) 75 and their respective attribute information and attributes. Based on the information, parameters for playing the video manager menu are set in each of the video decoder section 58, the audio decoder section 60, and the sub-video decoder section 62.
【0158】
Next, the operation of reproducing the movie data from the optical disc 10 having the logical formats shown in FIGS. 6 to 56 will be described with reference to FIG. 1 in a state where the title or the like is selected by the menu as described above.
【0159】
When the play key 4c of the key operation / display unit 4 or the play key 5d of the remote controller 5 is pressed while the desired title is selected, the system processor 50, the system CPU unit 50, and the title search pointer Title search pointer from table information (TT_SRPTI) 92 The final address of table (TT_SRPT) 79 is acquired, and the title search pointer (TT_SRP) is selected according to the input number from the key operation / display unit 4 or the title number selected by the remote controller 5. From 93, the video title set number (VTSN), program chain number (PGCN), and video title set start address (VTS_SA) corresponding to the input number are acquired. If there is only one title set, one title search pointer (TT_SRP) 93 is searched and the title is searched regardless of the presence or absence of the input number from the key operation / display unit 4 and the selection of the title number by the remote controller 5. The set start address (VTS_SA) is acquired. From the start address (VTS_SA) of this title set, the system CPU unit 50 will acquire the target title set.
【0160】
Next, the video title set information (VTSI) 94 of the title set is acquired from the start address (VTS_SA) of the video title set 72 shown in FIG. 13 as shown in FIG. The end address (VTI_MAT_EA) of the video title set information management table (VTSI_MAT) 98 shown in FIG. 21 from the video title set information management table (VTSI_MAT) 98 of this video title set information (VTSI) 94 is acquired, and the audio and sub Based on the number of video data streams (VTS_AST_Ns, VTS_SPST_Ns) and the attribute information of video, audio and sub video data (VTS_V_ATR, VTS_A_ATR, VTS_SPST_ATR), each part of the playback device shown in FIG. 1 is set according to the attributes.
【0161】
If the menu (VTSM) for the video title set (VTS) has a simple configuration, the video object set for the menu of the video title set from the video title set information management table (VTSI_MAT) 98 shown in FIG. The start address (VTSM_VOBS_SA) of (VTSM_VOBS) 95 is acquired and the video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95 displays the menu of the video title set. If you want to simply play the video object set (VTT_VOBS) 96 for the title (VTST) in the title set (VTS) without selecting the program chain (PGC) by referring to this menu, it is shown in Fig. 21. The video object set 96 is played from the start address (VTSTT_VOBS_SA).
【0162】
When the program chain (PGC) is specified by the key operation / display unit 4 or the remote controller 5, the target program chain is searched by the following procedure. This program chain search is not limited to the program chain for titles in the video title set, but the same procedure applies to a relatively complicated menu whose menu consists of a program chain and to search the program chain for that menu. Is adopted. The start address of the program chain information table (VTS_PGCIT) 100 in the video title set (VTS) shown in FIG. 21 described in the management table (VTSI_MAT) 98 of the video title set information (VTSI) 94 is acquired and shown in FIG. The information (VTS_PGCIT_I) 102 of the VTS program chain information table is read. From this information (VTS_PGCIT_I) 102, the number of program chains (VTS_PGC_Ns) and the end address of table 100 (VTS_PGCIT_EA) shown in FIG. 25 are obtained.
【0163】
When a program chain number is specified by key operation / display 4 or remote control 5, the VTS_PGCIT search pointer (VTS_PGCIT_SRP) 103 to 26 shown in FIG. 24 corresponding to that number-and its program chain category-and its The start address of VTS_PGC information 104 corresponding to the search pointer (VTS_PGCIT_SRP) 103 is acquired. The program chain general information (PGC_GI) shown in FIG. 27 is read by this start address (VTS_PGCI_SA). This general information (PGC_GI) acquires the category and playback time (PGC_CAT, PGC_PB_TIME) of the program chain (PGC), and the cell playback information table (C_PBIT) and cell position information table (C_POSIT) described in the general information (PGC_GI). ) 108 start addresses (C_PBIT_SA, C_POSIT_SA) are acquired. From the start address (C_PBIT_SA), the video object identifier (C_VOB_IDN) and cell identification number (C_IDN) as shown in FIG. 36 are acquired as the cell position information (C_POSI) shown in FIG. 35.
【0164】
Further, the cell regeneration information (C_PBI) shown in FIG. 33 is acquired from the start address (C_POSIT_SA), and the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of the first VOBU85 in the cell shown in FIG. The start address (C_LVOBU_SA) of VOBU is acquired and the target cell is searched. The cell reproduction order is determined one after another by referring to the program map shown in FIG. 31 of the PGC program map (PGC_PGMAP) 106 shown in FIG. 27. The data cells 84 of the program chain determined in this way are read out from the video object 144 one after another and input to the data RAM unit 56 via the system processor unit 54. The image is reproduced and the sound is reproduced from the speaker unit 8.
【0165】
Further, the normal reproduction of video data using the navigation pack 86 will be described in more detail with reference to the flowchart.
【0166】
In normal playback of video data, when normal playback is started as shown in FIGS. 63 and 64, the video manager information (VMGI) 75 is searched by the system CPU unit 50 as described above after the start. Is stored in the system ROM / RAM section 52 (step S12). Similarly, based on this video manager information (VMGI) 75, the video title set information (VTSI) 94 of the video title set (VTS) 72 is loaded and the video title set menu is described above using its video object set (VTSM_VOBS) 95. It is displayed on the monitor unit 6 as shown. Based on this display, the user determines the title set 72 to be reproduced, the reproduction conditions, and the like as shown in step S13. When the determined title set 72 is selected by using the key operation / display unit 4, the program chain information table (VTS_PGCIT) 100 to 27 and 33 shown in FIG. 20 in the selected title set 72 as shown in step S14. The data in the cell reproduction information table (C_PBIT) 107 shown in FIG. 34 is read by the system CPU unit 50, and this is stored in the system ROM / RAM unit 52.
【0167】
As shown in step S15, the system CPU unit 50 starts playback according to the playback conditions input from the key operation / display unit 4 or the remote controller 5, and the program chain number (VTS_PGC_Ns), angle number (ANGNs), and audio The stream number and the sub video stream number are determined using each menu as described above. For example, Boxing World Champion Round 11 will be selected as the title as a program chain, and it will be decided to project Japanese subtitles as a secondary video based on English narration. In addition, the user makes a selection as an angle, such as always determining an image in which the battle between the two can be viewed well. The determined sub-video number and audio stream number are set in the register 54B of the system processor unit 54 as shown in step S16. Similarly, the playback start time is set to the system time clocks (STC) 54A, 58A, 60A, 62A of the system processor unit 54, the video decoder unit 58, the audio decoder unit 60, and the sub video decoder unit 62. Further, the start address and PGC number of the first VOBU in the cell as the start address, that is, the cell number is stored in the system ROM / RAM section 52.
【0168】
As shown in step S17, when the video title set is ready to be read, a read command is given from the system CPU unit 50 to the disk drive unit 30, and the optical disk 10 is sought by the disk drive unit 30 based on the above-mentioned start address. To. By this read command, cells related to the designated program chain (PGC) are read one after another from the optical disk 10 and sent to the data RAM unit 56 via the system CPU unit 50 and the system processing unit 54. As shown in FIG. 8, the sent cell data is stored in the data RAM unit 56 from the navigation pack 86, which is the first pack of the video object unit (VOBU) 85. After that, the video pack 88, the audio pack 91, and the sub video pack 90 of the video object unit (VOBU) are distributed to the video decoder unit 58, the audio decoder unit 60, and the sub video decoder unit 62, respectively, and are decoded by the respective decoders. / A and sent to the data playback unit 64. As a result, the video signal is sent to the monitor unit 6, the audio signal is sent to the speaker unit 8, the display of the video accompanied by the sub video is started, and the reproduction of the sound is started.
【0169】
During such video and audio reproduction, if there is an interrupt process from the key operation / display unit 4 or the remote controller 5, the obtained key data is stored in the system RAM / ROM unit 52. .. If there is no key data, it is checked whether or not there is an interrupt to end playback from the drive unit as shown in step S19. If there is no interrupt to end playback, the transfer of Navigation Pack 86 will be waited as shown in step S20. When the transfer of the navigation pack 86 is completed, the logical sector number (NV_PCK_LSN) in the navigation pack 86 is stored in the system RAM / ROM section 52 as the current logical block number (NOWLBN) as shown in step S21. To.
【0170】
When the transfer of NV pack 86 is completed, the last NV pack 86 in the cell is checked. That is, as shown in step S22, it is checked whether or not it is the final navigation pack 86 in the cell 84. This check is checked by comparing the start address (C_LVOBU_SA) of C_LVOBU in the cell regeneration information table (C_PBI) 107 shown in FIG. 34 with the address (V_PCK_LBN) of the navigation pack 86. If the NV pack 86 is not final in the cell, it is returned to step S19 again. If the NV pack 86 is final in cell 84, it is checked for angle changes as shown in step S23. The angle change is determined based on whether or not there is an angle change input from the key operation / display unit 4 or the remote controller 5 to the system CPU unit 50. If the angle has not changed, it is checked whether the cell 84 is the last cell in the program chain (PGC) to which it belongs, as shown in step S24. This check is determined by whether the cell 84 shown in FIGS. 27 and 33 is the last cell of the cell regeneration information table (C_PBIT) 107. That is, it is checked by the number of cells constituting the program chain and the identification number of the regenerated cells. If the cell does not correspond to the last cell in the program chain (PGC), the process is returned to step S19 again.
【0171】
If cell 84 is the last cell of the program chain (PGC), the next program chain (PGC) is specified assuming that the program chain has ended. Except in special cases, the program chains are played in the order of their numbers. Therefore, as shown in step S25, the program chain number to be played next is set by adding 1 to the number of the program chain that has finished playing. Program. In step S26, it is checked whether or not there is a program chain having the set program chain number. If there is no program chain to be regenerated next, the process proceeds to the flow of the replay end procedure shown in FIG. 65, which will be described later. If there is a set program chain, the address of the cell of the reset program chain as shown in step S27, that is, the start address (C_FVOBU_SA) of C_FVOBU85 in the cell regeneration information (C_PBI) 107 shown in FIG. 34. ) Is acquired as the current logical block number. As shown in step S28, it is checked whether this start address (C_FVOBU_SA) is equal to the final address (ENDLBN) of cell 84 in the previous program chain that has already been regenerated plus one. If they are equal, the cell is regenerated with consecutive addresses, so the process returns to step S18 again. If the addresses are not equal, as shown in step S29, the cell addresses are not consecutive, so the system CPU unit 50 issues a read end address command that indicates the end address of the current video object unit, and temporarily at the specified address. The disk drive unit 30 is stopped from reading. After that, as shown in step S30, the read command is given to the disk drive section 30 again from the system CPU section 50, the start address is given to the disk drive section 30, the process is returned to step S19 again, and the seek of the navigation pack 86 is started. Will be done.
【0172】
If the playback ends in step S19, or if there is no program chain to be played next in step S26, the end described in the general information (PCI-GI) of PCI113 as shown in step S31 of FIG. When PTS (VOBU_EPTS) is referenced and this end PTS (VOBU_EPTS) matches the system time clock (STC), the monitor 6 screen is discontinued as shown in step S32 and the system CPU as shown in step S33. A data transfer stop command is given to the disk drive unit 30, the data transfer is stopped, and the playback operation is terminated.
【0173】
When an angle change input is received from the key operation / display unit 4 or the remote controller 5 in step S23, it is checked whether or not there is angle data as shown in step S40 of FIG. The presence or absence of this angle is described as angle information (NSULS-ANGLI, SML_AGLI) in both PCI data 113 and DSI data 115 of the navigation pack 86. Here, either information is examined by the system CPU unit 50 in response to an input from the key operation / display unit 4 or the remote controller 5. If there is no angle to be changed in step 40, the key operation / display unit 4 or the monitor unit 6 displays that there is no angle data as shown in step S41. After the display without this angle data is displayed, the process proceeds to step S24. If there is angle data, the angle number to be changed is specified from the key operation / display unit 4 or the remote controller 5 as shown in step S42. Here, as already described, which of the angle information (NSULS-AGL_CI, SML_AGLI) of PCI data and DSI data is used is specified to change the angle. However, if there is only one angle information, the selection is limited to one. When an angle number is specified, the target address of the angle cell corresponding to the specified angle number as shown in FIGS. 47 and 48. (NSLS_AGL_C_DSTA, SML_ANG_DSTA) is acquired in step S43. A cell is searched for this address and that address is set as the logical block number (NOWLBN) to seek. Here, especially when the angle is changed using PCI, the system CPU unit 50 performs mute processing for playback of video and audio data and pause processing for playback of sub video along with the angle change operation. To give. Along with this processing, the system time clock (STC) of each part of the playback device is stopped, and the buffers in the video, audio and sub-video decoder parts 58, 60 and 62 have already been cleared to enable acceptance of changed angle data. State (step S44). At the same time, as shown in step S45, the system CPU unit 50 issues a read end address command to temporarily stop the read operation by the disk drive unit 30. After that, as shown in step S46, a read command is given from the system CPU unit 50 to the disk drive unit 30, and the cell is searched and selected by the set logical block number to be sought, that is, the start address of the selected angle cell. The angle cell data transfer is started.
【0174】
With the start of the transfer, it will wait for the transfer of the navigation pack of the first cell that is the change angle destination again. As shown in step S48, it is checked whether or not the transfer of the navigation pack is completed due to the data transfer, and if there is no transfer of the navigation pack, the process returns to step S47 again. When there is a transfer of the navigation pack 86, each system time clock (STC) is set by referring to the SCR (NV_PCK_SCR) of the NV pack 86 described in the DSI general information (DSIG) of the navigation pack 86. After that, the mute state of the video and audio and the pause state of the sub video set in step S44 are released, and the operation of the system time clock (STC) is started. After that, step S21 shown in FIG. 63 is executed in the same manner as in normal reproduction.
【0175】
Next, with reference to FIGS. 67 to 72, the video data in the logical format shown in FIGS. 6 to 56, the recording method on the optical disk 10 for reproducing the video data, and the recording system to which the recording method is applied. explain.
【0176】
FIG. 67 shows an encoder system that generates a video file 88 of the title set 84 that encodes video data including menu data. In the system shown in FIG. 67, as sources of main video data, audio data and sub video data, for example, a video tape recorder (VTR) 201, an audio tape recorder (ATR) 202 and a sub picture source 203 Is adopted. They generate main video data, audio data and sub video data under the control of the system controller (Sys con) 205, which are the video encoder (VENC) 206, audio encoder (AENC) 207 and sub video encoder (SPENC), respectively. ) 208, also under the control of the system controller (Sys con) 205, A / D converted by these encoders 206, 207, 208 and encoded by each compression method, main video data, audio Data and secondary video data (Comp Video, CompAudio, Stored in memory 210, 211, 212 as Comp Sub-pict.
【0177】
This main video data, audio data and sub-video data (Comp Video, Comp Audio, Comp Sub-pict) are output to the file formatter (FFMT) 214 by the system controller (Sys con) 205, and this system as described above. The system controller (Sys con) 205 stores the management information such as the setting conditions and attributes of each data and the data for creating the menu data in the memory 216 as a file while being converted into the file structure of the video data of.
【0178】
The data for creating this menu data are the number of part of titles (PTT_Ns), the number of title search pointers (TT_Ns), the number of audio streams (VTS_AST_Ns), the number of secondary video streams (VTS_SPST_Ns), and the audio stream attributes described above. (VTS_AST_ATR), secondary video stream attribute (VTS_SPST_ATR), etc.
【0179】
The standard flow of encoding processing in the system controller (Sys con) 205 for creating a file from video data will be described below.
【0180】
The main video data and audio data are encoded according to the flow shown in FIG. 68, and the encoded main video and audio data (Comp Video, Comp Audio) data is created. That is, when the encoding process is started, the parameters necessary for encoding the main video data and the audio data are set as shown in step S270 of FIG. Some of these set parameters are stored in the system controller (Sys con) 205 and used in the file formatter (FFMT) 214. As shown in step S271, the main video data is pre-encoded using the parameters and the optimum code amount distribution is calculated. Encoding of the main video is performed based on the code amount distribution obtained by pre-encoding as shown in step S272. At this time, the encoding of audio data is also executed at the same time. If necessary, as shown in step S273, partial re-encoding of the main video data is performed to replace the re-encoded portion of the main video data. The main video data and audio data are encoded by this series of steps. Further, as shown in steps S274 and S275, the sub-video data is encoded and the encoded sub-video data (Comp Sub-pict). ) Is created. That is, the parameters required for encoding the sub video data are set in the same manner. Some of the parameters set as shown in step S274 are stored in the system controller (Sys con) 205 and used by the file formatter (FFMT) 214. Sub-video data is encoded based on this parameter. Sub-video data is encoded by this process.
【0181】
According to the flow shown in FIG. 69, the encoded main video data, audio data, and sub-video data (Com Video, Comp Audio, Comp Sub-pict) are combined and the title of the video data as described with reference to FIG. Converted to a set structure. That is, as shown in step S276, a cell is set as the minimum unit of video data, and cell reproduction information (C_PBI) related to the cell is created. Next, as shown in step S277, the cell configuration, main video, sub video, audio attributes, etc. that make up the program chain are set (a part of these attribute information is used by the information obtained at the time of each data encoding. The video title set information management table information (VTSI_MAT) and the video title set time search map table (VTS_MAPT) 142 including the information about the program chain are created as shown in FIG. At this time, a video title set part of title search access pointer table (VTS_PTT_SRPT) is also created as needed. Encoded main video data, audio data and sub video data (Com Video, Comp Audio, Comp Sub-pict) is subdivided into certain packs, and each data cell is arranged while placing an NV pack at the beginning of each VOBU unit so that each data can be played back in the time code order. A video object (VOB) consisting of multiple cells as shown in 6 is constructed, and this set of video objects is formatted into the structure of the title set.
【0182】
In the flow shown in FIG. 69, the program chain information uses the database of the system controller (Sys con) 205 in the process of step S277, or re-enters the data as necessary. , Described as Program Chain Information (PGI).
【0183】
FIG. 70 shows a disk formatter system for recording a title set formatted as described above on an optical disc. As shown in FIG. 70, in the disk formatter system, these file data are supplied to the volume formatter (VFMT) 226 from the memories 220 and 222 in which the created title set is stored. In the volume formatter (VFMT) 226, the management information is extracted from the title sets 84 and 86 to create the video manager 71, and the logical data in the state to be recorded on the optical disk 10 is created in the arrangement order shown in FIG. Error correction data is added to the logical data created by the volume formatter (VFMT) 226 in the disk formatter (DFMT) 228, and reconverted into physical data to be recorded on the disk. In the Modulater 230, the physical data created by the disk formatter (DFMT) 228 is converted to the recorded data that is actually recorded on the disk, and this modulated recorded data is converted to the disk 10 by the recorder (Recoder) 232. Recorded in.
【0184】
The standard flow for creating the above-mentioned disc will be described with reference to FIGS. 71 and 72. Figure 71 shows the flow in which the logical data for recording on disk 10 is created. That is, as shown in step S280, parameter data such as the number of video data files, the order of arrangement, and the size of each video data file are set first. Next, the video manager 71 is created from the parameters set as shown in step S281 and the video title set information 281 of each video title set 72. After that, as shown in step S282, the data is arranged in the order of the video manager 71 and the video title set 72 according to the corresponding logical block numbers, and the logical data for recording on the disk 10 is created.
【0185】
After that, a flow for creating physical data for recording on a disk as shown in FIG. 72 is executed. That is, as shown in step S283, the logical data is divided into a fixed number of bytes, and error correction data is generated. Next, as shown in step S284, the logical data divided into a fixed number of bytes and the generated error correction data are combined to create a physical sector. After that, as shown in step S285, the physical data is created by matching the physical sectors. The physical data generated by the flow shown in FIG. 72 is subjected to modulation processing based on a certain rule to create recorded data. After that, this recorded data is recorded on the disk 10.
【0186】
The above-mentioned data structure can be applied not only to the case of recording on a recording medium such as an optical disk, distributing it to a user, and reproducing it, but also to a communication system as shown in FIG. That is, according to the procedure shown in FIGS. 67 to 70, the optical disk 10 in which the video manager 71 and the video title set 72 as shown in FIG. 6 are stored is loaded into the playback device 300, and the system CPU unit 50 of the playback device The encoded data may be digitally retrieved and sent by the modulator / transmitter 310 to the user or cable subscriber by radio or cable. Further, data encoded by a provider such as a broadcasting station is created by the encoding system 320 shown in FIGS. 67 and 70, and this encoded data is similarly transmitted by a modulator / transmitter 310 to the user or cable subscriber side by radio wave or cable. May be sent to. In such a communication system, the information of the video manager 71 is first modulated by the modulator / transmitter 310 or distributed directly to the user for free, and when the user becomes interested in the title, the user or subscriber. The title set 72 will be sent to the user side via radio waves or cables by the modulator / transmitter 310 in response to the request from. For title transfer, first, the video title set information 94 is sent under the control of the video manager 71, and then the video object 95 for the title in the video title set played by the title set information 94 is transferred. At this time, if necessary, the video object 95 for the video title set menu is also sent. The transmitted data is received by the receiver / demodulator 400 on the user side, and is processed as encoded data by the system CPU unit 50 of the playback device on the user or subscriber side in the same manner as the above-described playback process to make a video. Is played.
【0187】
In the transfer of the video title set 72, the video object sets 95 and 96 are transferred in units of the video object unit 85 shown in FIG. The NV pack 86, which stores video playback and search information, is placed at the head of the video object unit 85. Moreover, since the NV pack 86 describes the address of the video object unit that should be played back and forth with respect to the video object unit 85 to which the NV pack 86 belongs, something is done during the transfer of the video object unit 85. Even if the video object unit 85 is missing due to the cause, the video data can be reliably played back on the user side by requesting the retransfer of the missing video object unit 85. Further, even if the transfer is not performed in the playback order of the video object unit, the system ROM / RAM unit 52 on the user side holds the accurate playback information of the program chain, and the playback order is referred to by referring to the address data of the NV pack 86. Can be instructed by the system CPU unit 50.
【0188】
In the above description, the video object unit has been described as a data string including video, audio and sub-video, but any of video, audio and sub-video may be included, and only the audio pack or the sub-video pack is used. It may be configured.
