The present invention relates to a golf bag. More specifically, the present invention relates to a lightweight modular golf bag having an external frame and a modular storage compartment that can be attached to the external frame in various forms.
Golf bags have become an integral part of golf games due to the difficulty of carrying as many golf clubs as needed to play well. Traditionally, golf bags have been designed to have a main compartment for holding golf clubs and various accessory compartments for holding items such as golf balls, tees and towels. Also, traditional golf bags are made from sturdy materials, making the bag somewhat heavier. Carrying a heavy bag can exhaust the golfer and adversely affect the golfer's performance. Also, the accessory compartment, which is not used by golfers, remains part of the bag and must be carried, making the already heavy bag even heavier. Golfers may also desire different choices of compartments, but are limited to the compartments selected by the manufacturer.
This overview is provided to provide a simplified introduction to the selection of concepts further described in the detailed description below. This summary is not intended to identify the material or essential features of the subject matter of the claim, nor is it intended to be used to help determine the scope of the subject matter of the claim.
A modular golf bag with an outer frame is provided. The frame top can accept golf clubs. The frame bottom is located below the frame top by about the length of the golf club. Multiple poles connect the frame top and frame bottom. A flexible bag body extends between the frame top and the frame bottom to form a cavity inside the poles that can accommodate the golf club through the frame top. Multiple pole sleeves are attached to the flexible bag body. Each of the pole sleeves surrounds at least a portion of the length of one of the poles so that each of the poles penetrates at least one pole sleeve. The plurality of pole sleeves give a structure to the flexible bag body by fixing the flexible bag body to the plurality of poles in an expanded state. At least one additional storage compartment may be detachably connected between at least two of the poles.
The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Traditional golf bags are heavy, and the storage compartment for traditional golf bags is not configurable. The present invention provides a modular golf bag that is lightweight and has an outer frame. Additional modular compartments can be detachably connected to the external frame with various settings. The embodiment of the present invention is shown in the figure.7-Shown in Figure 10.
FIG. 1 illustrates the back surface 102 of the modular golf bag 100. The frame top 104 can accept golf clubs. In some embodiments, the frame top 104 is open. In other embodiments, the frame top 104 includes a rim and a chuck-type cover. The frame bottom 106 is located below the frame top 104 by about the length of the golf club. A plurality of poles 108 and 110 connect the frame top 104 and the frame bottom 106. The flexible bag body 112 is inside the poles 108 and 110. The flexible bag body 112 extends between the frame top 104 and the frame bottom 106 so that a cavity (not shown) that can accommodate the golf club is formed through the frame top 104.
Multiple pole sleeves 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, and 124 are attached to the flexible bag body 112. Each of the pole sleeves 114, 116, and 118 surrounds at least a portion of the length of the pole 108. Similarly, each of the pole sleeves 120, 122, and 124 also surrounds at least a portion of the length of the pole 110. Each of the poles 108 and 110 penetrates at least one pole sleeve. The pole sleeves 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, and 124 give the flexible bag body 112 a structure by fixing the flexible bag body 112 to the poles 108 and 110 in an unfolded state. In FIG. 1, only pole sleeves 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, and 124 are numbered for clarity, while FIG. 1 is spaced across the substantially overall length of poles 108 and 110. It is understood that a plurality of pole sleeves are illustrated.
FIG. 2 illustrates side 202 of the modular golf bag 100 of FIG. The pole 110, frame top 104, frame bottom 106, and pole sleeves 120, 122, and 124 shown in FIG. 1 can also be seen in FIG. A third pole 204 extends from the frame top 104 to the frame bottom 106. Similar to the poles 108 and 110 shown in FIG. 1, the pole 204 penetrates a number of pole sleeves, including the pole sleeves 206, 208, and 210 spaced along the length of the pole 204.
Although only three poles can be seen in the perspective views illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, the bag 100 includes four poles. In some embodiments, the modular golf bag according to the invention comprises two poles, three poles, four poles, or more than four poles. The poles 108 and 110 in FIG. 1 are substantially linear. The pole 204 in FIG. 2 is curved from the frame top 104 to the frame bottom 106. It is considered that the plurality of poles in various embodiments of the modular golf bag according to the present invention may have various pole arrangement configurations as well as the number of poles. For example, the plurality of poles may intersect each other, or the plurality of poles may extend diagonally from the frame top to the frame bottom.
The use of poles 108, 110, 204, and a fourth pole (not shown) that penetrate the pole sleeves provides a lightweight outer frame for the modular golf bag 100. The "outer frame" has substantially a structural strut on the outside of the bag body. In FIGS. 1 and 2, poles 108, 110, 204, and a fourth pole (not shown) substantially form a side boundary of the bag 100, and the flexible bag body 112 is from the frame top 103 to the frame bottom. It extends to 106 inside the side boundary. By "inside" is meant that the flexible bag body 112 is substantially inside the area bounded by poles 108, 110, 204, and fourth poles.
The poles 108, 110, and 204 give the flexible bag body 112 a structure by fixing the flexible bag body 112 to the poles 108, 110, and 204 in an unfolded state. That is, the outer frame provided by poles 108, 110, and 204 opens the flexible bag body 112 in an "open" state or "as if the flexible bag body 112 was inflated or filled with liquid. Keep in a "full" state. In the bag 100, when the poles 108, 110, and 204 penetrate the pole sleeve, each panel contained in the bag body 112 extends between two or more poles, and the flexible bag body 112 becomes effective. It is designed to be taut. Because the flexible bag body 112 is supple, the bag body 112 cannot remain open and unfolded without a pole sleeve. In FIGS. 1 and 2, a plurality of parts of each pole are exposed and accessible. Pole exposed portions, such as exposed portions 212 and 214, can be used as mounting points for additional storage compartments, as described below with reference to FIGS. 7-10.
Various configurations and types of pole sleeves are conceivable. 3 and 4 illustrate a modular golf bag 300 having a pole sleeve larger than the pole sleeves exemplified in FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 3 shows the front 302 of the bag 300. Pole 304 and 306 extend from frame top 308 to frame bottom 310. The bag 300 has four large pole sleeves spaced along the length of each pole, rather than the small pole sleeves illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, pole sleeves 310, 312, 314, And 316 are spaced along the length of the pole 304, and pole sleeves 318, 320, 322, and 324 are spaced along the length of the pole 306. In one embodiment, the pole sleeves 310, 312, 314, and 316 are substantially the length of the pole 304 and a single pole sleeve, with an opening in the pole sleeve, the pole portions 326, 328. , And 330 can be exposed and made accessible. Embodiments of this type are illustrated and illustrated in FIGS. 7-9.
In FIG. 3, the modular golf bag 300 has a water bottle compartment 332 and a handle 334 attached to a flexible bag body 336. In some embodiments, the additional storage compartment is not attached to the flexible bag body so that it cannot be removed. In other embodiments, one or more commonly desired additional storage compartments, such as the water bottle compartment 332, are non-removably mounted. FIG. 4 illustrates a side perspective view of the modular golf bag 300. Modular golf bags according to embodiments of the present invention may be detachably connected to additional modular storage compartments, as illustrated in FIGS. 7-10.
FIG. 5 illustrates the front 502 of the modular golf bag 500. Pole 504 and 506 extend from frame top 508 to frame bottom 510. The pole 504 pierces the pole sleeve 512 and the pole 506 pierces the pole sleeve 514. The pole sleeves 512 and 514 are substantially the same length as the poles 504 and 506. In some embodiments, the lengths of the pole sleeves 512 and 514 are greater than half the length of the corresponding poles. FIG. 6 illustrates a side perspective view of the modular golf bag 500.
FIG. 7 illustrates a modular golf bag 700 with pole sleeves 702 and 704. The pole sleeves 702 and 704 have multiple openings 706, 708, 710, 712, 714, and 716 spaced apart along the length of each pole sleeve. Figure 7 shows multiple openings spaced substantially along the overall length of the pole sleeves 702 and 704, but for clarity, three exemplary openings along each pole sleeve. It is understood that only numbered。
The modular golf bag 700 also includes additional storage compartments 718, 720, 722, and 724 and a back pad 726. Each additional storage compartment 718, 720, 722, and 724 and backpad 726 are detachably connected between the two poles. Additional storage compartments 718 and 724 are detachably connected between poles 728 and 730. A second pole to which the additional storage compartments 720 and 722 and the back pad 726 are detachably connected is shown in FIGS. 8 and 9.
Figures 7-9 illustrate additional storage compartments 718, 720, 722, and 724 and back pad 726 connected to the exposed portion of the corresponding pole. An additional storage compartment that is detachably connected allows the golfer to choose a particular compartment for his bag. Golfers can change the situation to minimize weight and maximize functionality by adding or removing compartments. Golfers can also choose multiple compartments of the same type, reverse the layout of a typical accessory compartment and reflect it in their bag for left-handed golfers, or make other personal changes. Can be done.
Detachable connections can be achieved in a variety of ways. For example, each compartment may have multiple straps with buckle-style fasteners, or may have connectors that allow compression fitting, such as hooks or "C-shaped" parts. .. FIG. 7 illustrates an additional storage compartment 724 with straps 732, 734, 736, and 738 that extend to poles 728 and 730 and wrap around exposed and accessible pole portions, for example.
The exposed and accessible part of the pole allows the strap to be completely wrapped around the exposed part of the pole. In embodiments with substantially pole-length pole sleeves, such as the bag 500 of FIGS. 5 and 6, compression fitting is more preferred. However, in some embodiments, additional storage compartments are strapped around both the pole and the corresponding pole sleeve, even if part of the pole is not exposed and accessible. The flexible bag body itself may have slits to accommodate fixation. In such cases, the connector comes into direct contact with the pole sleeve rather than the exposed portion of the pole. Alternatively, the pole sleeve may not be attached to the flexible bag body along the overall length of the pole sleeve by leaving space around both the pole and the pole sleeve for wrapping the strap. Other connection mechanisms, such as grommets fitted into pole sleeves, are also conceivable.
8 and 9 are side views of the modular golf bag 700. Figure 7-9 shows each additional storage compartment that is detachably connected between only two poles, but the additional storage compartment is also removable between three or more poles. May be connected. Additional storage compartments are detachably connected at multiple locations between at least two poles. For example, the additional storage compartment 724 is shown to be detachably connected near the center of the bag 700, but the compartment 724 can also be connected to various other mounting points. In one embodiment, the additional storage compartments 718 and 724 may be replaced.
The modularity of the Golf Bag 700 allows multiple different additional storage compartments to be detachably connected between the same mounting points, and depending on the placement of the poles, the first multiple pole mounting points. Certain additional storage compartments can be removably connected, both between and between the mounting points of the second poles, which are different from the first poles. Mounting location means any potential location to which additional storage compartments can be connected. Therefore, the mounting location varies depending on the design of the modular golf bag. In Fig. 7-9, each pole exposed part is the mounting location. When using compression mating with a C-shaped connector, each pole is essentially one large mounting point.
In FIG. 10, a rear view of the additional storage compartment 724 is illustrated. Straps 732, 734, 736, 738 extend from the additional storage compartment 724 and are wrapped around the exposed pole. FIG. 10 is an example, and various connection methods can be considered.
The various types of pole sleeves illustrated in Figures 1-9 can be attached to the flexible bag body in a variety of ways. In some embodiments, the pole sleeve can be sewn to the flexible bag body. Also, although the pole sleeves are shown at substantially even spacing, the pole sleeves may be spaced at any desired spacing or position. The pole can be made of fiberglass, aluminum, titanium, or other lightweight and sturdy material. The flexible bag body can be made of nylon or other lightweight and durable material containing both natural and synthetic fibers.
Although the present invention has been described with respect to specific examples as non-limiting, exemplary examples, those skilled in the art will appreciate alternatives relating to the invention that do not deviate from the scope of the invention.
As is clear from the above, the present invention is excellent at achieving all of the above results and objectives, along with other advantages that are obvious and inherent in the system and method. It will be appreciated that certain features and subcombinations are useful and can be used without reference to other features and subcombinations. This is intended and included in the claims.
