A method of producing a primate G4-CSF protein which comprises culturing a cell according to any one of claims 1 0 to 16 under conditions which enable expression of the G4-CSF protein and isolating the primate G-l-CSF protein produced thereby. A primate GM-CSF protein produced by a method according to claim 1 ך . A protein according to claim 18 having a specific activity of at least 1 x 10 7 units per mg in the human, bone marrow assay. 2G , . a non-glycosylated primate GM-CSF protein produced by a method which comprises culturing a cell according to any one of claims 11 to 12 under conditions which enable expression of GM-CSF protein and isolating the primate GM-CSF protein produced thereby. 21. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a primate GM-CSF protein according to any one of claims 1 δ to 20 in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier.
