  1. 1
Claims 1. A multiple antenna system (MAS) with multiuser (MU) transmissions (“MU-MAS”) comprising:a plurality of distributed antennas or wireless base transceiver stations (BTSs) distributed throughout a plurality of cells or coverage areas and communicatively coupled to one or a plurality of spatial processing units via a wireline or wireless communications network;a plurality of user equipment devices (UEs) communicatively coupled to the distributed antennas via a plurality of wireless links;wherein each of the plurality of UEs receives the same cell ID;and the distributed antennas or BTSs cooperatively send or receive a plurality of signals that intentionally interfere to create a plurality of non-interfering data links with the UEs at the same time and within the same frequency band.
  2. 12
A method implemented within a multiple antenna system (MAS) with multiuser (MU) transmissions (“MU-MAS”) comprising of:a plurality of distributed antennas or wireless BTSs distributed throughout a plurality of cells or coverage areas and communicatively coupled to one or a plurality of spatial processing units via a wireline or wireless communications network;a plurality of UEs communicatively coupled to the distributed antennas via a plurality of wireless links;wherein each of the plurality of UEs receives the same cell ID;and the distributed antennas or BTSs cooperatively send or receive a plurality of signals that intentionally interfere to create a plurality of 46 non-interfering data links with the UEs at the same time and within the same frequency band.
  3. 18
A multiple antenna system (MAS) with multiuser (MU) transmissions (“MU-MAS”) comprising of:a plurality of cooperative distributed antennas or BTSs distributed throughout a plurality of cells or coverage areas and 47 communicatively coupled to one or a plurality of spatial processing units via a wireline or wireless communications network;a plurality of user equipment devices (UEs) communicatively coupled to the distributed antennas or BTSs via a plurality of wireless links;wherein, for certain time and frequency intervals, different data streams are transmitted over the wireless links between the distributed antennas or BTSs and each of a plurality of UEs, and for certain other time and frequency intervals, the same data streams are transmitted over the wireless links between the distributed antennas and each of a plurality of UEs.
  4. 20
A method implemented within a multiple antenna system (MAS) with multiuser (MU) transmissions (“MU-MAS”) comprising of a plurality of cooperative distributed antennas or BTSs distributed throughout a plurality of cells or coverage areas and communicatively coupled to one or a plurality of spatial processing units via a wireline or wireless communications network;a plurality of user equipment devices (UEs) communicatively coupled to the distributed antennas via a plurality of wireless links;wherein, for certain time and frequency intervals, different data streams are transmitted over the wireless links between the distributed antennas or BTSs and each of a plurality of UEs, and for certain other time and frequency intervals, the same data streams are transmitted over the wireless links between the distributed antennas or BTSs and each of a plurality of UEs.
