  1. 1
229472/2 CLAIMS 1. A firearm sensor system comprising:one or more sensor groups, each configured for attachment to a firearm, wherein one of the one or more sensor groups comprises a wireless transmission 5 component for wirelessly transmitting the sensor data;a sensor control panel comprising circuit elements;a data storage device comprising a computer-readable medium having an executable application stored on the computer-readable medium, wherein the application, when executed on a computing device, receives data from the one or more 10 sensor groups via a wireless communication system and presents the data from the one or more sensor groups in a user interface displayed on a monitor;the sensor system being characterized in that: sensor group comprises a force sensor for measuring a position of a firearm bolt relative to a start position of the bolt;and 15 data from said force sensor are indicative of a bolt position versus time during a firearm discharge, and wherein the circuit elements are adapted to interpret said data from said force sensor and determine if said firearm discharge is a proper discharge or a faulty discharge.
  2. 9
A method for evaluating firearm usage parameters, comprising the steps of:providing a firearm comprising a sensor group attached thereto, the sensor 10 group including a controller circuit and a wireless radio transmitter;providing a host computer adapted to receive wireless radio transmissions from the wireless radio transmitter;monitoring a firearm usage parameter with at least one force sensor from the sensor group, wherein data from said force sensor is indicative of a bolt position over 15 time during a firearm discharge, and the usage parameter comprising a position of a firearm bolt relative to a start position of the bolt;collecting data from the at least one sensor;interpreting said data from said force sensor and determining if said firearm discharge is a proper discharge or a faulty discharge with said controller circuit;and 20 transmitting the sensor data wirelessly to the host computer.
