    CLAIMS 1. A computer-based context dependent system for determining whether a medical code is accurate, said system comprising:at least one processor, wherein said at least one processor is programmed to perform (a) a medical code processor function configured to match at least one extracted medical identified element from a medical claim, the medical claim including at least one medical code for a medical service against a set of reference medical identified elements;(b) a medical provider code processor function configured to match an extracted provider identified element associated with the medical claim against a set of reference medical provider identified elements;(c) a medical patient code processor function configured to match an extracted patient identified element associated with a medical claim against a set of reference patient identified elements;(d) a first medical code selection processor function configured to define and apply a rule set to the at least one extracted medical identified element and a quantity of the reference medical identified elements to generate a total medical code identification function;(e) a medical code threshold processor function configured to generate a context-dependent threshold for an acceptable code decision by applying the rule set to the claim using an aggregated ranking calculation and an account adjudication calculation, the aggregated ranking calculation including setting correlation adjudication values computed on the basis of partial matching of feature vector elements where separate and distinct feature vector elements are associated with both the extracted medical identified element and each of the reference medical identified elements;and (f) a decision processor function configured to compare the total medical code identification function to the context-dependent threshold to (fl) render an automatic reclassification of the medical code, (f2) generate an auto-accept decision of the medical code, (f3) generate auto-deny of the medical code, and (f4) accumulate and aggregate further reference medical identified elements and repeat functions (a)-(f) until a decision of (fl)-(f3) is generated;and 225925/3 a user interface configured to permit human feedback to enhance automated system learning of the computer-based context dependent system by providing additional extracted medical identified elements that are used in generating the total medical code identification function.

    A computer-based context dependent system for determining whether a medical code is accurate from a set of data elements, said computer based system comprising:(a) a quantity of extracted medical identified elements stored on a computer readable medium, wherein each of the extracted medical identified elements is associated with a quantity of feature vectors, each of the quantity of feature vectors having a quantity of feature vector elements;(b) a set of reference medical identified elements stored on the computer readable medium;(c) a set of enhanced reference medical identified elements stored on the computer readable medium;(d) one or more data sources stored on the computer readable medium, the one or more data sources being configured to provide enhancements in the form of the feature vector elements and/or corrections to the feature vector elements for at least one of the reference medical identified elements and the extracted medical identified elements, thereby generating augmented feature vectors for at least one of the extracted medical identified elements and the reference medical identified elements;(e) at least one processor programmed to perform (el) a medical code processor function configured to compare the quantity of augmented feature vectors associated with each of the quantity of extracted medical identified elements against a quantity of feature vectors for the set of reference medical identified elements or the set of enhanced reference medical identified elements;(e2) a threshold processor function configured to generate a context-dependent threshold for an acceptable decision using an aggregated ranking calculation and an account adjudication calculation, 225925/3 the aggregated ranking calculation including setting correlation adjudication values computed on the basis of partial matching of the feature vector elements where separate and distinct feature vector elements are associated with both the extracted medical identified element and each of the reference medical identified elements;and (e3) a medical code selection processor function configured to define a quantity of rule sets to be applied to each of the extracted medical identified elements and the reference medical identified elements and configured to generate an initial set of extracted medical identified elements, wherein the quantity of rule sets is derived by performing a multidimensional lookup task and characterizing the quantity of vector elements of the quantity of feature vectors against normative values, wherein the medical code selection processor function further comprises (e3a) a medical service generator function configured to generate one or more medical code options about each of the extracted medical identified elements;and (ε3β) a medical service approval processor function configured to authorize, reclassify, and deny the generated medical code options to generate the initial set of extracted medical identified elements;and (f) a user interface configured to permit human feedback to enhance automated system learning of the computer-based context dependent system by providing additional extracted medical identified elements that are used by the medical code selection processor function.

    A system for determining whether a medical code is accurate, comprising:at least one processor programmed to perform (a) a medical code processor function, configured to compare a quantity of augmented feature vectors associated with each of a quantity of extracted medical identified elements against a quantity of feature vectors for a set of reference medical identified elements or a set of enhanced reference medical identified elements;and (b) a threshold processor function, configured to generate a context-dependent threshold for an acceptable decision using an aggregated ranking calculation and an account adjudication calculation, the aggregated ranking calculation including setting correlation adjudication values computed on the basis of partial matching of feature vector elements where separate and distinct feature vector elements are associated with both the extracted medical identified element and each of the reference medical identified elements;(c) one or more data sources stored on a computer-readable medium, configured to provide data for (cl) a set of reference provider identified elements, patient identified elements, and medical identified elements, and 225925/3 (c2) a set of enhanced reference medical identified elements configured to augment the quantity of feature vectors associated with each of the quantity of extracted medical identified elements, thereby generating a quantity of augmented feature vectors for each of the quantity of extracted medical identified elements;and (d) a dynamic representation of medical coding and claims rules, where different nodes are activated to a degree to which there is medical code supporting their approval as a true state of affairs, to serve as a means by which medical code is accrued to support approval;and a user interface configured to permit human feedback to enhance automated system learning of the system by providing additional extracted medical identified elements that are used by the medical code processor function.

    A computer-based context dependent system for performing automated security screening using provider, patient and medical code-based decision-making comprising:at least one processor programmed to perform (a) a medical code processor function, configured to match an extracted medical identified element against a set of reference medical identified elements;(b) a medical code selection processor function, configured to (bl) define a rule set to be applied to the extracted medical identified element and a quantity of reference medical identified elements, and (b2) generate a total medical code function;225925/3 (c) a threshold processor function configured to generate a context-dependent threshold for an acceptable decision using an aggregated ranking calculation and an account adjudication calculation, the aggregated ranking calculation including setting correlation adjudication values computed on the basis of partial matching of feature vector elements where separate and distinct feature vector elements are associated with both the extracted medical identified element and each of the reference medical identified elements;and (d) a decision processor function, configured to compare the total medical code function to the context-dependent threshold and determine whether to accumulate and aggregate further medical code or to generate a decision;and a user interface configured to permit human feedback to enhance automated system learning of the computer-based context dependent system by providing additional extracted medical identified elements that are used in generating the total medical code function.

    A computer-based system for determining whether a medical code is accurate, comprising:a processor configured to 225925/3 (a) match an extracted medical identified element against a set of reference medical identified elements;(b) match an extracted medical provider identified elements against a set of reference medical provider identified elements;(c) match an extracted medical patient identified elements against a set of reference medical patient identified elements;(d) define a rule set to be applied to the extracted medical identified element and the set of reference medical identified elements and configured to generate a total medical code function;(e) generate a context-dependent threshold for an acceptable decision, wherein the context-dependent threshold is a function of an aggregated ranking value and an account adjudication value;and (f) compare the total medical code function to the context-dependent threshold and determine whether to accumulate and aggregate further medical code or to generate a decision-result, the decision-result including an automatic reclassification of a given medical code option if an auto-accept decision or an auto-deny decision for the given medical code option is not generated, and the automatic reclassification referring to a command to change the given medical code option to a different medical code option;and a user interface configured to permit human feedback to enhance automated system learning of the computer-based system by providing additional extracted medical identified elements that are used in generating the total medical code function.

    A method for determining whether a medical code is accurate on a computer-based system including at least one processor, the method comprising:(a) matching at least one extracted medical identified element, using a matching processor function of the at least one processor, against (al) a set of reference medical identified elements (RMIE);(a2) a set of reference medical provider identified elements (RMPrIE);and (a3) a set of reference medical patient identified elements (RMPalE);(b) defining and applying a rule set, using a first medical code selection processor function of the at least one processor, to the at least one extracted medical identified element and a quantity of the reference medical identified elements to generate a total medical code identification function;(c) generating a context-dependent threshold for an acceptable code decision using a medical code threshold processor function of the at least one processor;(d) comparing the total medical code identification function to the context-dependent threshold using a decision processor function of the at least one processor to generate a result selected from the group consisting of (dl) accumulate and aggregate further medical code aggregation, and (d2) render an automatic reclassification, the result of said accumulating and aggregating further medical code aggregation or said rendering automatic reclassification being generated if an auto-accept decision or an auto-deny decision for the given medical code option is not generated, and 225925/3 the automatic reclassification referring to a command to change the given medical code option to a different medical code option;and (e) entering human feedback to enhance automated system learning of the computerbased system by providing additional extracted medical identified elements that are used in generating the total medical code identification function.

    A context dependent rule-based method for determining whether a medical code is accurate on a computer-based system including at least one processor, said method comprising:(a) generating, using the at least one processor, a set of medical code options for a medical event based a plurality of extracted identified elements selected from the group consisting of an extracted medical identified element, an extracted provider identified element, and an extracted patient identified element;(b) applying, using the at least one processor, a rule set to each of the medical code options to generate a result of an automatic reclassification of a given medical code option if an auto-accept decision or an auto-deny decision for the given medical code option is not generated, the automatic reclassification referring to a command to change the given medical code option to a different medical code option, and the rule set being applied using an algorithm that generates a context dependent threshold for rendering the result;and (c) entering human feedback to enhance automated system learning of the computerbased system by providing additional extracted medical identified elements, additional extracted medical provider identified elements or additional extracted medical patient identified elements that are used in generating the set of medical code options.
