  1. 1
201187/3 CLAIMS What is claimed is:1. A system, comprising: a data collector to obtain first response data from a first data collection modality and second response data from a second data collection modality from a subject exposed to an advertisement or entertainment;an intra-modality response synthesizer to generate a coupling index based on first data from a first frequency band of the first response data and second data from a second frequency band of the first response data, the first frequency band and the second frequency band being different, the coupling index indicative of a degree of phase synchrony between the first frequency band and the second frequency band;a cross-modality response synthesizer to generate validation data based on the second response data and one or more of the first response data or the coupling index;and an effectiveness estimator to determine an effectiveness of the advertisement or entertainment based on one or more of the coupling index or the validation data.
  2. 24
A method, comprising:- 25 - 201187/2 obtaining first response data from a first data collection modality and second response data from a second data collection modality from a subject exposed to an advertisement or entertainment;generating a coupling index based on the first data from a first frequency band of the first response data and second data from a second frequency band of the first response data, the first frequency band and the second frequency band being different, the coupling index indicative of a degree of phase synchrony between the first frequency band and the second frequency band;generating validation data based on the second response data and one or more of the first response data or the coupling index;and determining an effectiveness of the advertisement or the entertainment based on one or more of the coupling index or the validation data.
  3. 32
An apparatus, comprising:means for obtaining first response data from a first data collection modality and second response data from a second data collection modality from a subject exposed to an advertisement or entertainment;means for generating a coupling index based on first data from a first frequency band of the first response data and second data from a second frequency band of the first response data, the first frequency band and the second frequency band being different, the coupling index indicative of a degree of phase synchrony between the first frequency band and the second frequency band;means for generating validation data based on the second response data and one or more of the first response data or the coupling index;and - 27 - 201187/2 means for determining an effectiveness of the advertisement or entertainment stimuli based on one or more of the coupling index or the validation data.
  4. 36
A tangible machine readable storage medium comprising instructions which, when read, cause a machine to at least:access first response data collected via a first data collection modality and second response data collected via a second data collection modality from a subject exposed to an advertisement or entertainment;- 28 - 201187/2 generate a coupling index based on first data from a first frequency band of the first response data and second data from a second frequency band of the first response data, the first frequency band and the second frequency band being different, the coupling index indicative of a degree of phase synchrony between the first frequency band and the second frequency band;and determine an effectiveness of the advertisement or the entertainment based on the coupling index.
  5. 38
The machine readable storage medium of claim 38, further causing the machine to:generate a plurality of parameters for presentation of the advertisement or the entertainment to the subject;and modify at least one of the parameters based on at least one of the coupling index, the validation data, or the effectiveness.
