  1. 1
A method of curing a radiation-curable fluid, the method including:emitting radiation from a radiation source towards the fluid to be cured, wherein at least 90% of the radiation has a wavelength in a band having a width of less than 50nm;and providing an inerting environment in the region of the radiation source.
  2. 16
A method according to any one of claims 11 to 15, wherein the source comprises a plurality of rows of LEDs, wherein a row of LEDs is offset from an adjacent row of LEDs.
  3. 22
A method according to any one of claims 19 to 21, wherein the fluid includes a photoinitiator adapted to respond to radiation emitted by the source.
  4. 23
A method according to any one of claims 19 to 22, wherein the fluid includes a photosensitiser adapted to respond to radiation emitted by the source.
  5. 24
A method according to any one of claims 19 to 23, wherein the fluid includes a photosensitiser adapted to extend the spectral response of the radiation curable fluid.
  6. 28
A method of curing a radiation-curable fluid, the method including emitting radiation from a radiation source towards the fluid to be cured, wherein at least 90% of the radiation has a wavelength i n a band having a width of less than 50nm.
  7. 29
Apparatus for curing a radiation-curable fluid, the apparatus including a radiation source for emitting radiation towards the fluid to be cured, wherein at least 90% of the radiation has a wavelength in a band having a width of less than 50nm ;and means for providing an inerting environment in the region of the radiation source.
  8. 32
Apparatus according to any one of claims 29 to 31, wherein the apparatus includes an array of sources.
  9. 33
Apparatus according to any one of claims 29 to 32, including an elongate source of radiation.
  10. 35
Apparatus according to any one of claims 29 to 34, including a plurality of rows of LEDs, wherein a row of LEDs is offset from an adjacent row of LEDs.
  11. 37
Apparatus according to any one of claims 29 to 36, including reduced oxygen gas source.
  12. 38
Apparatus according to any one of claims 29 to 37, including a nitrogen source.
  13. 39
Apparatus according to any one of claims 29 to 38, further including a printhead, wherein the arrangement is such that the inerting environment is not provided in the region of the printhead.
  14. 40
Apparatus according to any one of claims 29 to 39, further including a shroud in the region of the radiation source.
  15. 41
Apparatus according to any of claims 29 to 40, including means for providing a gas curtain in front of the source.
  16. 42
Apparatus according to any of claims 29 to 41 including an outlet for the gas, wherein the outlet is directable.
  17. 43
Apparatus according to any of claims 29 to 42, including a gas outlet adjacent the source for supplying gas at a positive pressure in the region of the source.
