166558/5 • CLAIMS:1. A method for transferring multimedia broadcasts/multicast services (MBMS) data implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising: 5 receiving MBMS data and segmentation information from a first MBMS transmitting source;moving from the first MBMS transmitting source to a second MBMS transmitting source and receiving MBMS data and segmentation information from the second MBMS transmitting source, the MBMS data from the first MBMS transmitting 10 source and the second MBMS transmitting source being unsynchronized;and reassembling the MBMS data using the first and second MBMS transmitter source segmentation information.
  2. 2
A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for receiving a multimedia broadcasts/multicast services (MBMS) data from a plurality of unsynchronized 15 transmitting sources at differing times, the plurality of transmitting sources having transmitted the MBMS data in an unsynchronized manner, comprising:a MBMS receiver means for receiving MBMS data segments from each of the plurality of transmitting sources;a segmentation information recovery means for receiving segmentation 20 information received in band with the MBMS data segments;and a MBMS segmentation reassembly means for reassembling the MBMS data segments based on the segmentation information.
  3. 5
A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) receiver means for, in response to received signaling, receiving MBMS data segments of an MBMS service over a dedicated physical channel or a secondary common control physical channel (S- 5 CCPCH), wherein the received MBMS data segments are received from a plurality of cells wherein one of the MBMS data segments is received ahead of at least one other MBMS data segment;and a MBMS segment reassembly means for reassembling the received MBMS data segments from the plurality of cells in response to segmentation information 10 received with the MBMS data segments.
