IMPROVEMENT FOR BACKPACK CARRYING SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a backpack type bag and more particularly to an improvement for its carrying system constituted by two straps.

Hikers and mountaineers or simply walkers usually use backpacks to carry the equipment they need. This type of bag, worn with two straps passing over the shoulders of the user, is very widespread because very practical especially because it allows the wearer to have their hands free.

The manufacturers have, of course, endeavored to design bags that are more and more comfortable, practical, light, aesthetic and functional. They have, in particular in backpacks that are found on the market, improved the comfort of carrying by proposing adjustments of the length of the straps, as well as devices making it possible to adjust the vertical position of the straps.

However, no known bag is entirely satisfactory, especially with regard to comfort and in particular at the level of the breasts of women which, during carrying, are compressed by the straps. In addition, for both men and women, the classic suspenders press on the torso and can interfere with the user's breathing during exercise.

Thus, the object of the backpack of the invention is to solve these two problems. It is such that its carrying straps are shaped to include a clearance for the torso or chest to reduce, or even avoid any pressure exerted in the corresponding area by the carrying straps.

Thus, the backpack according to the invention comprises two carrying straps of the type constituted by a main strap element comprising an upper portion of strap intended to be supported on the shoulders of the user, extended downwards by a portion lower strap, and is characterized in that said lower strap portion comprises an internal lateral clearance.

According to an additional characteristic, the width of at least part of the lower strap portion is less than the width of the upper strap portion.

According to another characteristic, the external lateral border of the lower strap portion follows the general line of the external lateral border of the upper strap portion to form a continuity and a continuous curvature, while the internal lateral border of the main element shoulder strap includes a recess between the upper portion and the lower portion of the main strap element, so that the internal lateral border of said lower portion of the main strap element is not in line with the internal lateral border of the upper portion of the main strap element.

According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the lower portion of the strap has a rear clearance produced by a difference in thickness between the upper portion of the main strap element and the lower portion. Thus, the thickness of the lower portion of the main strap element is less than the thickness of the upper portion of the main strap element.

Let us add that the main strap element advantageously comprises a layer of rigidity as well as a layer of comfort.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows with reference to the appended drawings which are given only by way of nonlimiting examples.

Figure 1 is an overall perspective view of an embodiment of the bag according to the invention.

The luggage item intended to be worn by the user is of the backpack type bearing the general reference (1) of vertical plane (P) of general symmetry. It is constituted in a known manner by an envelope (2) forming an enclosure (3) intended to receive the contents of the bag, said envelope comprising carrying means such as two carrying straps (4a, 4b) intended to be passed over the user's shoulders.

The envelope (2) is, for example, constituted by a front peripheral wall (5) and a back wall (6), said bag comprising, moreover, a bottom and, for example, a movable upper flap allowing the user to open and close his bag.

According to the invention, the carrying straps (4a, 4b) comprise a space formed by a clearance at the level of the chest of the user.

One of the straps (4a) will be described below, knowing that the other of the straps (4b) is symmetrical with respect to the vertical plane (P) of general symmetry. We will therefore only describe the strap (4a) forming the carrying means disposed on the user's right shoulder.

Thus, the strap (4a) is constituted by a wide support strap constituting what we will call the main strap element (7) whose upper end (23) is, in a manner known per se, connected to the bag, while the lower end (8) is extended by a connecting strap (9) ·

The main strap element (7) comprises an upper strap portion (10), extended downwards (BA) by a lower strap portion (11), the secondary strap element being constituted by the connecting strap ( 9) connecting the lower end (8) of the lower portion (11) of the main strap element (7) to the belt (12) of the bag.

It has been understood that the upper strap portion (10) of the main strap element (7) is a constituent portion of the strap intended to be when worn directly bearing at least on the shoulders of the wearer.

According to the invention, the main element (7) of each of the straps (4a, 4b) comprises a rear lower clearance, forming a space allowing the user's chest to be released, this lower clearance being at least one lower lateral clearance internal (13), while in the preferred mode, the clearance is also a lower rear clearance (14).

Thus, the lower portion (11) of the main strap element (7) is configured in its shape, in its thickness, and its width, to meet the need of the invention, which is to limit or reduce the pressure. , especially at the level of the user's chest and torso, to increase carrying comfort.

The main strap element (7) comprises a front face (15) and a rear face (16) and is bounded peripherally upwards and downwards by, respectively, an upper edge (17), a lower edge (18 ), and laterally by an internal lateral border (19) and an external lateral border (20).

According to the invention, the lower portion (11) of the strap comprises an internal lower clearance (13). To this end, the width (L1) of at least part of the lower portion (11) of the strap is less than the width (L2) of the upper portion (10) of the strap. Thus, the external lateral border (20) is such that the external lateral border (20a) of the lower portion (11) of the main strap element (7) follows the general line of the external lateral border (20b) of the upper portion (10) of said strap element. In other words, the external lateral border (20b) of the lower portion (11) of the strap and the lateral border (20a) of the upper portion (10) form a continuity and a continuous curvature. On the other hand, the internal lateral edge (19) of the main strap element (7) comprises a recess (21) between the upper strap portion (10) and the lower portion (11). In other words, the internal side edge (19a) of the lower strap portion (11) is not in line with the internal side edge (19b) of the upper strap portion (10).

In the preferred embodiment, the main strap element (7) further comprises a rear clearance (14) produced by a difference in thickness between the upper portion (10) of the strap and the lower portion (11 ). Thus, the thickness (El) of the lower portion (11) of the main strap element (7) is less than the thickness (E2) of the upper portion (10).

According to the embodiment given by way of example, the main strap element (7) consists of at least one layer of foam, more or less rigid, to ensure the rigidity and geometry of the strap, said foam layer being, for example, a semi-rigid synthetic foam plate (24) said stiffening layer, housed in a strap envelope (25) made by a flexible canvas. Furthermore, there is provided at the upper portion (10) of the main strap element, a layer of foam which is more flexible than the layer (24) to improve carrying comfort at the shoulders, said layer of foam. being, for example, a flexible synthetic foam plate (26) bonded to the rear face of the stiffening layer (24). The main strap element therefore comprises over its entire surface the layer of stiffening foam (24) which extends over the entire length of said main element, and furthermore comprises an internal lateral clearance, while the layer of foam comfort (26) is arranged only in the area of ​​the upper portion (10), which creates the distinction between the upper portion (10) of the lower strap portion (11), and the variation in thickness (El, E2) of the main strap element (10).

It has been understood that the main strap element (7) comprising an upper portion (10) of width (L1) and a lower portion of width (L2), different from the width (L1), knowing that the width (L2) of the lower portion is less than the width (L1) of the upper portion.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the variation in thickness (E1, E2) can be arranged in the foam itself in order to optimize the comfort over the entire length of the main strap element. The lower strap portion can be fitted with a layer of comfort foam, with a reduced thickness compared to that of the upper strap portion.

According to another embodiment, the strap can be made from a single material, such as a foam or plastic with constant, variable, or progressive density.

It will be noted that each of the straps is such that its main element has a generally curved shape, convex towards the plane of symmetry (P).

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown by way of examples, but it also includes all the technical equivalents as well as their combinations.
