FR 2 551 978 - A2 (57) Device for uterine catheterization for the purpose of performing hysterographies and insufflation of the uterine tubes.

The invention relates to a device for injecting painlessly, without reflux, a liquid opaque to the rays of antibiotics or any other liquid and under pressure, inside the uterine cavity.

It consists of a pipe 5 having an upper orifice 8, a lower orifice 7; it is 45 cm long. An inflatable balloon 2 is placed half a centimeter from its upper orifice. This balloon 2 measures 2 1/2 cm. It is made of elastic rubber or any other suitable material. At 1 1/2 cm from the end of this balloon is glued a plastic or other rigid or semi-rigid collar. This collar measures at least 2 cm 1/2 in diameter, a depth of at least 1/2 cm. At the lower end of the device is the device inlet and the inflation valve.

The device according to the invention is particularly intended for catheterization of the isthmus of the uterine cervix.

The present invention relates to a device for catheterizing the female uterine isthmus. In order to easily and painlessly perform hysterographies. As well as any drug injection inside the uterine cavity.

Tubal hysterography and insufflation are currently performed with glass or metal devices. These techniques are painful for the patient. They require the placement of forceps on the uterine cervix or, for glass instruments, the addition of vacuum motors. These devices do not seal the uterine cavity. The injected products are pushed back into the vaginal cavity. As a result, the results are less good, uncertain, and very often force the practitioner to repeat his examination.

The probe according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. In fact, it comprises an upper balloon which 'allows it to be properly placed and sealed inside the uterine cavity. A i cm. from the end of the upper balloon a collar of plastic or other suitable material prevents the probe from rising into the uterine cavity and perfects the seal of this cavity. The upper balloon is inflatable up to 5 this. A longet thin pipe passing through the lumen of the probe and, connected to the base of the &lt;

probe with a non-return valve. The upper balloon is inflatable or deflatable using a syringe and needle. The length of the probe 45 cm. allows the practitioner to work away from any source of rays. And to be able to control more easily on TV screen the progress of the contrast agent. The upper end of the probe is blunt so as to be atraumatic. The lower end of the probe allows the adaptation of a syringe.

According to one variant, the probe can be of different diameters.> FIG. 1 shows in section the device according to the invention.

The dispositf shown in Figure 1 comprises a long pipe (5) of 45 cm. long. The diameter of the device may vary according to needs. The upper end (8) is blunt, the lower end (7 *) allows the adaptation 40 of a syringe tip. At u cm. at the upper end
